Mercedes Moné says AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm is one of the reasons she came to AEW.
At AEW Double or Nothing, Mercedes Moné defeated Jamie Hayter in the Owen Hart Cup tournament finals. This win not only put her name on the list of Owen Hart Cup winners but also earned her a shot at Toni Storm's AEW Women's World Title at All In: Texas.

On the AEW Double or Nothing Post Show post-show press conference, Mercedes Moné addressed her upcoming match with Toni Storm. She credited Storm as a key influence in her decision to come to AEW. Moné also expressed admiration for Storm's skills and status as champion.
'She might be timeless, but I'm legendary. I'm iconic and my legacy can never be undone. I mean, I've been looking forward to facing Toni Storm for a very long time. I've been watching her for years, all the way since STARDOM. She is timeless for a reason. She holds the AEW Women's Championship for a reason. But I'm four belts Moné, I am the CEO of not only AEW, RevPro, New Japan. Soon we'll be going to Mexico.'
'But, I am a global champion for a reason and I want all the gold and Toni, be prepared for your greatest match of your life. She's legit one of the reasons why I came to AEW. She put AEW on storm for me. I couldn't stop watching every single week because of her. But I'm ready to dethrone the 'Timeless' one and we're gonna go onto the revolution of Mercedes Moné.' Toni Storm's bold response to defending her title against Mercedes Moné at AEW: All In Texas

Storm said, 'Ah yes, Miss Money. Haven't met her yet. Questions, anyone? I have questions; is it okay to smoke tobacco in here? Is it okay to smoke cannabis in here? Name a drug. Name a drug. What can we do? Something — if I want to get really messed up, what am I taking? [Someone says 'meth.] Luther, get me the meth. Luther, they said it was okay. Get me the meth.' Storm admitted she's excited for the match, 'I've been orgasming ever since. Looking very much forward to meeting Miss Mone — Money.' [H/T: 411Mania]

WWE Night Of Champions Results As Jade Cargill Wins Queen Of The Ring Over Asuka

Jade Cargill vs Asuka Jade Cargill fended off a hostile Saudi crowd to defeat Asuka and become 2025 Queen of the Ring at WWE Night of Champions. After the match, Jade said "A storm was coming' for SummerSlam." Jade Cargill is in the midst of the biggest sustained push of her WWE career to date. After being one of the early AEW free agent signings following a historic run in All Elite Wrestling, Cargill has shown flashes of brilliance while learning the ropes of the wrestling business. 'Jade is… I have no less belief in her now than I did then,' said Triple H during a Survivor Series post-show in 2023. 'It's interesting when she came in we talked about her development and where she would land but what the development was. I want to make sure that no matter what is thrown at Jade Cargill she's ready. And, at no fault of her own, I think she was limited in that, right? So the idea is, we exposed her, we made her be seen, people are understanding, and they're waiting, and they're excited for her to come. When she does, it's going to be massive.' In today's wrestling landscape, the learning curve is far steeper given the lack of WWE house shows, not to mention Jade went straight to the main roster. Given her experience, Cargill is an excellent pro wrestler with massive potential. Expectations for Jade are borderline unreasonable, and patience is a virtue in WWE as evidenced by all the times Karrion Kross was allowed to fall on his face for years before finally finding his voice. Now in a feud with Naomi and on her way to a world title match against Tiffany Stratton, Cargill's time has come. Though she was at her best as a cocky, overdog heel, Jade Cargill is one of the more popular babyfaces in WWE, and seems to be closing in on her first singles championship. That is, until Naomi inevitably cashes in, thereby continuing her first long-term feud in WWE, which is more important than any title. Naomi is heating up and doing the best work of her career as a heel. This is good for Jade Cargill as long as Naomi doesn't do too good of a job as a heel to where she is cheered. After being thrown into the deep end, only an injury slowed down Jade Cargill, and she has parlayed that return into a major WrestleMania win over Naomi, followed by her first Queen of the Ring.

March 3, 2024 – AEW Continental Champion / NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion / ROH World Champion Eddie Kingston takes a kick from Bryan Danielson during AEW Revolution. Jeff Jones/AEW In a recent interview with Fightful, he discussed his desire to avoid another neck surgery. He placed the odds of him ever wrestling again at 50/50. "My priority is my health," Danielson stated. "I think the odds of me wrestling again, ever, are probably 50/50 at this point." He explained that if avoiding surgery meant he could not wrestle again, he would accept that outcome. "If I could live comfortably without neck surgery, but it means that I wouldn't get to wrestle again, I think I'd be okay with that trade-off," he said. Danielson first made a name for himself in Ring of Honor, where he was a "founding father" and held the ROH World Championship for a legendary 462 days. His success skyrocketed in WWE, where he became a five-time world champion and a Grand Slam Champion, holding every major men's title. His most iconic moment was the culmination of the "Yes! Movement," where he won two matches at WrestleMania 30 to become the undisputed champion in one of the most celebrated main events in history. Since joining AEW in 2021, Danielson has continued his main event legacy, capturing the AEW World Championship and winning the prestigious Owen Hart Cup tournament, cementing his status as a top star in every promotion he has competed in. Fan-Favorite AEW Star Breaks Silence On Long Absence

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Keith Lee has addressed his ongoing absence from AEW television. After months of speculation, Lee stated that his return to the ring is not up to him. The "Limitless One" took to social media to provide an update. He responded to fans who were wondering about his status with the company. Keith Lee Says AEW Return Is Out Of His Hands Lee was pulled from the Worlds End pay-per-view in late 2023 due to an injury. He later revealed he had been dealing with the issue since 2022. When a fan wished him well, Lee offered a direct response. He clarified that he is feeling fine but is not in control of his comeback. "I am quite fine," Lee posted. "It is not up to me when it comes to a return. But blessings to you as well." When another fan suggested a campaign to push for his return, Lee declined. He said that things will happen as they are meant to. "I've been good for quite some time, though I do appreciate the concern," he wrote. "But no campaign required. Things happen the way they are suppose to, and eventually, the purpose will show itself." All Elite Wrestling ALL IN at Wembley Stadium in London on August 27, 2023. It is not up to me when it comes to a return. But blessings to you as well. — Loving Lee (@RealKeithLee) June 26, 2025 AEW's Keith Lee Still Not Medically Cleared Lee's comments suggest that he is waiting for either medical clearance or a creative decision from AEW management. As of early 2024, reports indicated he was still not medically cleared to compete. His last match took place in December 2023 on an episode of AEW Collision. He defeated Brian Cage at the Holiday Bash special. Aside from a brief backstage appearance at an AEW event in Texas earlier this year, Lee has been completely absent from television. Lee's WWE career began with a dominant run in NXT. His unique blend of size and agility made him a breakout star, culminating in a historic moment where he became the first person to hold both the NXT Championship and the NXT North American Championship simultaneously. His main roster run was less successful, plagued by inconsistent booking before his release. In 2022, Lee debuted in AEW, where he quickly formed a tag team with Swerve Strickland known as Swerve in Our Glory. The duo captured the AEW World Tag Team Championship, marking Lee's first major title in the company. After the team imploded, Lee engaged in a feud with Strickland before being sidelined by an injury in late 2023, where he has remained since. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
