At AEW Double or Nothing, Mercedes Moné defeated Jamie Hayter in the Owen Hart Cup tournament finals. This win not only put her name on the list of Owen Hart Cup winners but also earned her a shot at Toni Storm's AEW Women's World Title at All In: Texas.

On the AEW Double or Nothing Post Show post-show press conference, Mercedes Moné addressed her upcoming match with Toni Storm. She credited Storm as a key influence in her decision to come to AEW. Moné also expressed admiration for Storm's skills and status as champion.
'She might be timeless, but I'm legendary. I'm iconic and my legacy can never be undone. I mean, I've been looking forward to facing Toni Storm for a very long time. I've been watching her for years, all the way since STARDOM. She is timeless for a reason. She holds the AEW Women's Championship for a reason. But I'm four belts Moné, I am the CEO of not only AEW, RevPro, New Japan. Soon we'll be going to Mexico.'

In today's wrestling landscape, the learning curve is far steeper given the lack of WWE house shows, not to mention Jade went straight to the main roster. Given her experience, Cargill is an excellent pro wrestler with massive potential. Expectations for Jade are borderline unreasonable, and patience is a virtue in WWE as evidenced by all the times Karrion Kross was allowed to fall on his face for years before finally finding his voice. Now in a feud with Naomi and on her way to a world title match against Tiffany Stratton, Cargill's time has come. Though she was at her best as a cocky, overdog heel, Jade Cargill is one of the more popular babyfaces in WWE, and seems to be closing in on her first singles championship. That is, until Naomi inevitably cashes in, thereby continuing her first long-term feud in WWE, which is more important than any title. Naomi is heating up and doing the best work of her career as a heel. This is good for Jade Cargill as long as Naomi doesn't do too good of a job as a heel to where she is cheered. After being thrown into the deep end, only an injury slowed down Jade Cargill, and she has parlayed that return into a major WrestleMania win over Naomi, followed by her first Queen of the Ring.
