The SPCA KK-Yayasan Hasanah initiative, under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MOF), is jointly carried out with Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu (DBKK). SPCA KK President, Dr Stuart Chin, said the initiative aims to curb the stray dog population, promote responsible animal welfare and address social and public health concerns. 'Now, in its seventh month, the programme is progressing well,' Dr Stuart said in a statement. 'However, we will require continuing information on the location of the dogs from members of the public to reach out effectively,' he said, adding that this year the project will concentrate on the Kota Kinabalu and Likas-Damai zones. 'We extend our sincere appreciation to all participating veterinarians for their dedicated support in this vital initiative, which plays a key role in addressing the challenges of stray overpopulation because of uncontrolled breeding,' he said.
