G Square Group announces mega township project in Coimbatore

Hyderabad, June 7 (UNI) G Square Group, a leading South Indian real estate developer, on
Saturday announced G Square Seven Hills, an expansive township project in Coimbatore.
The project combines plots and mixed-use development, the company said in a release.
The acquisition of the 714- acre project from Rakindo for ₹707 crore, marked the latest in a series
of major investments transforming Coimbatore into a premier real estate destination.
This comes after other recent investments in the region, such as Astrea Real Estate Developers' (a Phoenix Mills subsidiary) purchase of 9.03 acres for retail development, L&T's commitment for a world-class IT park and Capgemini's investment creating over 1,500 jobs at Elcot SEZ.
The Kovai Hills project, now rebranded as G Square Seven Hills, spans 714 acres with Phase 1 covering 406 acres and featuring 3,127 DTCP and RERA-approved premium plots.
The remaining 308 acres are designated for joint ventures with signature villa and apartment developers, built-to-suit IT infrastructure projects, including commercial leasing and business
parks, malls and multiplexes.
Strategically positioned along the Western Ghats adjacent to the Palakkad Gap in Kovaipudhur near Madukkarai, this naturally elevated township project offers panoramic views of Coimbatore while spanning Perur, Chettipalayam, Sundakkamuthur, and Theethipalayam.
Located at the edge of reserve forests, the township benefits from lower ambient temperatures, creating a naturally cooler microclimate with lush greenery that drives strong appreciation potential
for early investors.
Speaking on the announcement, Bala Ramajeyam, Founder and Managing Director of G Square Group, said, 'We are pleased to announce our mega Seven Hills project in Coimbatore. As an expanding player in real estate, our goal is to offer premium, ready-to-build plots in key locations. Coimbatore's rapid growth and investor confidence make it the perfect market for our business plans".
G Square is also open to larger JV partners to participate in developing commercial and residential developments within this 714-acre township, he said
The development is ideally positioned to attract spiritual tourists and wellness seekers traveling to destinations like Isha Yoga Centre, a popular wellness destination, religious hotspots like Guruvayoor and Sabarimala – the gateway to Kerala, he added.
With over 15,000 happy customers across South India, G Square's footprint spans Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Trichy, Pollachi, Hosur, Mysuru, Ballari,
and more.

India, UK sign landmark Free Trade Agreement

New Delhi/London, July 24 (UNI) India and UK today signed the landmark Free Trade Agreement (FTA) after three years of hectic parleys, bringing in the promise of a major boost to the economies of both countries. The Agreement was signed in London by Union Minister Piyush Goyal and his British counterpart Jonathan Reynolds in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on a two-day visit to UK, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Prime Minister Modi described the Agreement as a ''plan for shared prosperity.'' ''The Agreement is not just an economic agreement but also the plan for a shared prosperity. New opportunities will emerge in the UK market for India's agricultural produce and processed food industry. This agreement will especially benefit Indian youth, farmers, fishermen and MSME sector. For people in India products made in UK will be available at reasonable and affordable prices," the Prime Minister said. The UK PM described the Agreement as a ''big win for Britain''. ''India deal is a big win for Britain that will improve people's lives,'' Mr Starmer said on X. ''A landmark deal with India means jobs, investment and growth here in the UK. It creates thousands of British jobs, unlocks new opportunities for businesses and puts money in the pockets of working people. That's our Plan for Change in action,'' he said. The agreement, okayed by the Union Cabinet early this week, includes lower tariffs on cars, clothing and footwear and jewellery and will involve reduced levies on British exports to India including on gin and whiskey, cosmetics and cars. The lower tariffs will make Indian exports cheaper and Indian manufacturers will gain access to the UK market for electric and hybrid vehicles. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said both countries had finalised the Agreement on May 6. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal described the FTA as a ''big win'' for farmers, ensuring duty-free exports on nearly 95 per cent of agricultural products. Duty-free access for about 99 per cent of Indian exports unlocks nearly 23 billion Dollars in opportunities for labour-intensive sectors, he said adding that artisans, weavers and daily-wage labourers employed in MSMEs would usher in a new phase of prosperity. He said the FTA is a big leap for women through improved access to finance and deeper integration into global value chains and will provide Indian consumers high quality goods at competitive prices.
