'Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans,' she said.
'His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible… We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy.'
As tributes pour in for the Australian actor, Daily Mail Australia takes a look back at the women who played key roles in his life - from high-profile marriages to low-key romances that rarely made headlines.

A short-lived union with pop princess Dannii Minogue
Before his Hollywood breakthrough, McMahon made headlines in his native Australia when he married Home and Away co-star and singer Dannii Minogue.
The pair, who met on the set of the hit soap in the late '80s, wed in 1994 during what was dubbed a 'fairytale' showbiz wedding.
But behind the scenes, things were far from picture perfect.
Their marriage lasted just 18 months, torn apart by distance, pressure and reported family tensions.
Minogue later revealed in an interview that McMahon's mother - late Lady Sonia McMahon, the glamorous wife of former Prime Minister Sir William McMahon - never approved of their union.
'There was no relationship, she wouldn't speak to me, I wasn't allowed to be near her in the house, she said she wasn't coming to the wedding. We just had no idea how to handle it - we were just trying to,' Minogue candidly told No Filter.
The singer, now 52, also claimed the constant travel between the UK and US to keep the relationship alive left her in debt.
'I not only ran out of money - I was in debt,' she said. 'It was a huge struggle emotionally, physically, mentally, financially.'
Second marriage ends in heartbreak - and scandal
In 1999, Julian tied the knot with American actress Brooke Burns, best known for her role in Baywatch.
The couple welcomed daughter Madison the following year, but their marriage collapsed in 2001.
Burns, 46, honoured her late ex-husband with a touching Instagram tribute following news of his passing, sharing a sweet photo of Julian with their daughter and writing simply: 'Rest in peace .'
But their relationship wasn't without controversy. During their short-lived union, McMahon was rumoured to have had a fling with his Charmed co-star Shannen Doherty.
The timing of the alleged romance reportedly overlapped with the final season of Doherty's role on the show in 2000-2001 - and Burns reportedly discovered the affair in the tabloids.
'It was the straw that broke the camel's back,' Burns once told Nicki Swift, later admitting, 'He got carried away by all the Los Angeles hoopla.'
A private love with wife Kelly Paniagua
After two high-profile breakups, McMahon kept his next relationship largely out of the spotlight.
He began dating author and model Kelly Paniagua in 2003, and after more than a decade together, the pair married in a quiet ceremony at Lake Tahoe in 2014.
According to reports at the time, the actor popped the question during a romantic trip to Melbourne in late 2013.
Unlike his past marriages, Julian and Kelly kept their love life intensely private, rarely appearing together at events or discussing their relationship in interviews.
In her heart-wrenching statement, Kelly described Julian as her 'beloved husband,' saying he 'died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.'
'He was truly one of a kind,' she added.
It was Kelly who confirmed his death on Friday.
She gave a statement to Deadline which read: 'With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.'
Kelly - whom he married in 2014 - continued by expressing the love Julian had for his fans and those around him and what being an actor meant to him during his life.
She continued: 'Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.
'We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.'
Julian McMahon was at the height of his acting career just one month before he died, aged 56, this week.
The former Home and Away star passed away after a secret battle with cancer, his wife, Kelly Paniagua, confirmed on Friday.
Julian made a triumphant return to the screen, starring alongside Nicholas Cage in the Stan original film The Surfer.
He shone as a surf gang leader in the new movie, which was released in May.
He delivered a searing performance as Scally, a charismatic and menacing guru-like figure who leads a group of surfers and acts as a local authority in Luna Bay.

Neighbours cast film emotional final scenes on Ramsay Street revival as 40-year soap ends with 'hope for future possibilities'
As four decades of Neighbours came to an end on Friday, veteran stars Annie Jones and Stefan Dennis showed support for their fellow cast members in an emotional final day on set. The actress, 55, first appeared on the beloved soap in 1986 as Jane Harris, aka Plain Jane Superbrain, and was on hand this week to offer a supportive shoulder. She was seen wrapping her arm around her fellow stars as they came together to mark the end of an era at Melbourne 's Nunawading studios. Annie chose to step away from the spotlight in 1989 to look after her late mother, Elizabeth, who battled Alzheimer's disease and passed away in 2016. She later reprised her role in 2018 and has been a regular fixture on the show ever since. Annie was seen wrapping her arm around her fellow stars as they came together to mark the end of an era at Melbourne 's Nunawading studios Soap veteran Stefan, 66, who has played the character of Paul Robinson on the series for four decades, was also seen on set for the final scenes of the concluding episode. The actor, who was part of the original Neighbours cast when it debuted in 1985, left the show in 1992 but returned in 2004. He clutched buckets of Chupa Chups lollipops for his castmates. 'I never thought a single show would give me the greatest adventures of my career, spanning 40 years,' Stefan said in a statement released by Prime Video. 'Without 'Neighbours' I would not have met the people, been to the places and lived the experiences of a lifetime.' Other members of the crew were seen consoling one another in a group hug. Then, the entire cast gathered together at the end of the day for a group photo. For decades, Neighbours has chronicled the ups and downs of Melbourne's fictional Erinsborough, and the series will air its last episodes in December, bringing Amazon's two-year revival to a close. In total, the streamer has added a respectable 460 episodes to the show's already staggering 9,000-episode legacy. Executive producer Jason Herbison got a bit misty-eyed over the statistic, saying: 'Neighbours is a special show and it's been a privilege to make the recent seasons for our loyal viewers around the world. 'We have added 460 episodes to our legacy of over 9,000 episodes, something we all feel proud of.' He added: 'Once again, we will be resting the residents of Ramsay Street on a hopeful note, with some tantalising possibilities for a future chapter.' Veteran star Alan Fletcher, aka Dr Karl Kennedy, called the set his 'happy place', praising the 'creative freedom and enthusiasm amongst the whole team.' Jackie Woodburne, who has starred as Susan Kennedy for three decades, said, 'It is impossible to measure the gratitude I feel for the gift of 30 years of Neighbours. 'We are the best version of "family". It has been a wild ride into a happy life. Wouldn't change it for quids!' Even the newer faces on Ramsay Street were gutted to say goodbye. Matt Wilson (Aaron Brennan) called the show 'a real beacon of hope,' while Ben Jackson (Max Ramsay) described his time on set as 'the greatest gift of my life.' In the UK, Neighbours experienced consistent Top 10 rankings under Amazon's stewardship and earned a 2024 Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Daytime Series. Back in 2022, the beloved soap got the axe after 37 seasons, only to be rescued for the revival. Now, it's curtains for good. As cast member Naomi Rukavina (Remi Varga-Murphy) beautifully put it: 'It's a special thing to be part of a national icon. 'Neighbours is nothing like I had imagined. It has been blessing on blessing for me. Fulfilling, stabilising, and heart-filling. Long live the icon,' she said. According to Metro UK, sets have already begun to be dismantled at the production base on the outskirts of Melbourne. The studio site, which was sold to property redevelopers several years ago but is on a long lease to programme-makers Fremantle Media, is expected to be reused for other productions in the future.

Major blow for 'border breacher' owner of Chapel Street bar as it collapses owing over $800,000
A once-popular cocktail bar on Melbourne 's iconic Chapel Street has closed its doors for good after it went bust owing more than $800,000 to creditors. Morris Jones, founded by restaurateur Hayden Burbank, officially entered insolvency on June 26 with Justin Howlett of SMB Advisory appointed as administrator. Morris Jones had announced its closure in March, calling the decision 'heartbreaking.' 'The hospitality industry is facing unprecedented challenges and it has become incredibly difficult to sustain business in this current climate,' the statement read. 'We are all deeply saddened by this situation. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers for their love and support over the journey.' Burbank, who rose to prominence for both his hospitality ventures and his public controversies, stepped back from daily operations in November 2021, resigning as a director of Bambou Restaurant Pty Ltd, the company behind the venue. His mother, Antoinette Burbank, is listed as the current director, while Hayden remains the sole shareholder. The collapse follows a string of challenges for Burbank, who in 2021 was given a suspended six-month jail sentence in Western Australia after faking documents to illegally travel to Perth during a Covid lockdown to watch the AFL Grand Final. Burbank is also known for his relationship with Married At First Sight star Belinda Vickers. The couple announced their engagement in February 2024. Their relationship blossomed after he spent 90 days behind bars at WA's maximum-security Hakea prison, which earned him the jailhouse nickname of 'border breacher'. Hayden described his experience at one of Australia's toughest jails as 'the ultimate game of Survivor'. 'You have to form alliances and not do anything stupid and get through each day by day,' he told the Saturday Herald Sun in March 2022. 'They are the longest days of your life. I'm not built for jail. Nobody is built for jail.' Hayden added he shared a cell with one of the prison's top dogs, a bikie, who would wake him up each morning and taunt: 'Border breacher, border breacher'. The restaurateur hosted a farewell party at the closed-down venue, which reportedly upset former staff who alleged they were owed unpaid wages. Financial records reveal the company owes $62,589 to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) and $8,681 in WorkCover liabilities. Several suppliers are also out of pocket, including Cambridge Cellars ($9,992), MRC Builders ($160,458), Hosp Management ($16,251), Moorabbin Marble & Granite ($15,675), Saunders Events ($15,739), and Kresta Blinds ($8,528). In addition to suppliers, several private investors are listed among the creditors. These include Andrew Murphy, owed $58,400, Brad Putzier, owed $60,000, and Daniel Barlow, owed $69,600. Despite Burbank taking a step back from day-to-day operations in 2021, he is listed as the only employee owed money from the company, with claims totalling $59,711 in unpaid wages and $30,289 in long service leave. The collapse follows a number of other Melbourne venues including Asian fusion restaurants Kekou and Klae. The venues in the inner-city suburb of Richmond entered liquidation earlier this year. The businesses had debts exceeding $1.3million, including an estimated $50,000 in unclaimed vouchers and $400,000 owed to the ATO.

Thanks for showing us that true Aussie spirit, Robert!' Owners of the venue revealed they would be donating some of the meals Robert paid for to Oz Harvest to 'help get good food to those who need it most'. Meanwhile, the rest of the meals will be going to their customers. 'We haven't had any takers yet, but we're so excited to see who we can feed in the coming days,' they captioned a photo of owner Kyle Miller holding several receipts. The restaurant also shared several photos of Robert posing with The Jetty Pavillion team, praising the TV star and calling him a 'humble legend'. 'From a humble surf road trip to a chance encounter and a moment that changed everything,' they began. After the story went viral online, the Australian Zoo star has returned to the scene of the crime to pay his dues, sharing pictures of the moment to Instagram 'We're so honoured to have hosted a true conservationist doing incredible things for our country and our planet. 'He's such a great sport!' wrote another. A third added: 'A great good news story we didn't know we needed!' 'I did not think he would ACTUALLY go back. Incredible he's a man of his word,' commented someone else. Robert shocked fans after failing to pay for his $26 Harvest Bowl at the popular restaurant in Coffs Harbour recently. The conservationist shared his embarrassment over his dine and dash experience after visiting The Jetty Pavilion over the weekend. Robert ordered a takeaway salad at the eatery after stopping in Coffs Harbour but he quickly became distracted by fans wanting selfies. 'I went in there and there was a lot of people who saw me and wanted a photo but it turned into a bit of a frenzy,' he explained in a video shared to social media. 'They got the salad done super fast and I made sure I said hi to absolutely everyone. 'Then the next morning I wake up and realise, I never paid for my salad. I just did the old dine and dash and didn't even realise. I felt terrible.' Robert said he contacted the establishment and apologised before offering to pay the bill over the phone. 'They said, "Don't worry, just leave us a good review." Go and support the Jetty Pavilion. They are the absolute best,' he said. 'I apologise again. Today is not the day I start my life of crime, as much as the tabloids would love that, it's not happening.' Co-owners Kyle Miller and Ben Hemsworth have reportedly experienced a 50 per cent boost in business since Robert shared his viral video recommendation.
