Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is being touted as India's most ambitious film, backed by an estimated ₹835 crore budget and a star-studded lineup including Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, and Sunny Deol. Despite the big names, the film's title card notably highlights producer Namit Malhotra, rather than the cast or even the director. While Malhotra may not be a household name in India, his influence in the global film industry is undeniable.Coming from a film lineage, Namit Malhotra is the son of producer Naresh Malhotra and the grandson of renowned cinematographer MN Malhotra. After studying computer graphics, he launched Video Workshop, a post-production company he co-founded with three of his teachers. The studio, originally set up in his father's garage, handled editing work for popular TV shows like Boogie Woogie and Gaatha, and later partnered with Channel V.In 1997, Namit merged Video Workshop with his father's business to form Prime Focus , which initially focused on technical services for television and film. Prime Focus expanded into movie production, working on titles like The Hurricane Heist and Brahmastra Part One.A major turning point came in 2014, when Prime Focus merged with UK-based VFX giant Double Negative (DNEG). The merged entity has since delivered stunning visual effects for films like Blade Runner 2049, Tenet, and the Dune series. Over the past decade, DNEG has won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects seven times, cementing its place in Hollywood.Namit revealed in an interview with Hindustan Times that he began conceptualizing Ramayana for the big screen as early as 2015, though filming officially began in 2023. His vision goes far beyond just making a big-budget Indian movie.'I want to make India proud and inspire the world with Indian storytelling. Just as we're moved by films like Oppenheimer or Forrest Gump, I believe Ramayana has the same universal appeal. I'm fortunate to bring this story to life,' Namit shared.Ramayana will be released in two parts, with Part 1 expected during Diwali 2026 and Part 2 following in Diwali 2027. The film features:Ranbir Kapoor as Lord RamSai Pallavi as SitaYash as RavanaSunny Deol as HanumanRavie Dubey as LaxmanaThe film's music is another high point, with a collaboration between AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, marking the latter's Bollywood debut.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga Confirms Prabhas, Triptii Dimri's Spirit Begins Filming This September

Last Updated: Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga confirms Prabhas, Triptii Dimri's Spirit starts filming in September with back-to-back schedules. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has officially confirmed that his much-anticipated film Spirit, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, will begin shooting in September 2025. The announcement came during a recent chat with Vijay Deverakonda and filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri on the Sithara Entertainments YouTube channel. Sandeep revealed that Spirit will have back-to-back schedules and a non-stop shooting plan once it hits the floors. Spirit made headlines earlier this year when Deepika Padukone exited the project following disagreements over working hours and compensation. Reports suggested that Deepika was advocating for a strict eight-hour workday, a demand that could not be accommodated by the production team. Following her exit, Triptii Dimri was roped in to play the female lead opposite Prabhas. According to reports by Rangasthalam, Sandeep has already completed the musical compositions for Spirit in collaboration with composer Harshavardhan Rameshwar. Backed by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, Spirit is one of the most awaited action dramas in Indian cinema and is expected to hit theatres in 2027. The film reportedly presents Prabhas in a never-seen-before avatar, adding to fans' excitement. Earlier, a source close to the project revealed, 'Sandeep Reddy Vanga wants to shoot for Spirit in a certain way and has requested Prabhas to acquire a lean physique. The idea is to ensure most stunts are performed by Prabhas himself. The Rebel Star is excited about the challenge and is working closely with Sandeep to mold himself into the character." After wrapping up Spirit, Sandeep will begin scripting Animal Park, the much-anticipated sequel to his 2023 blockbuster Animal. With high expectations riding on Spirit, fans are eagerly awaiting to see what cinematic magic Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prabhas will bring to the screen. India Couture Week 2025 is underway in Delhi right now, thanks to which almost every evening has been a star-studded one for the national capital. But Friday night turned extra special when Bollywood superstar, our beloved Khiladi, Akshay Kumar took over the ramp. That's right! The actor dressed up as an Indian prince charming and closed the show for Falguni Shane Peacock as their showstopper. He entered in style, dressed in an ivory bandhgala paired with black sunglasses, and went on to drop jaws with his stylish walk. The collection channeled opulence of maharajas and maharanis, reimagining royal heritage. Post the show, Bollywood royalty Akshay obliged the media with a quick chat, ending the night on a fun note. Akshay Kumar, the showstopper Talking to the media, Akshay Kumar stated, 'Well, thank you very much. Main Hindi mein bolunga. Aap sabhi logo ka bohot bohot dhanyawad, jitne bhi yahan log aaye, aur media. (Looking at his watch) Kaafi late nahi ho gaya hai?' Many joked that it was way past Akshay's bed time, referring to the actor's disciplined lifestyle. When someone said 'Dilli mein chalta hai sir', Akshay replied, 'Dilli mein chalta hai? Tabhi haal dekh tera.' After this quick banter, Akshay went on to share, 'Actually, after a long time I'm doing this walk, ramp walk. Mujhe yaad hai, aaj se kareeban 12 saal pehle, maine phir ek baar ramp walk kiya tha, maine inhi ke saath kiya tha. And it's been an honour doing that.' Sharing his experience, Akshay went on to add, 'I have enjoyed each and every bit of it. Specially, maine dekha hai ki kitna hard-work jaata hai ek show karne ke liye, organise karne ke liye aur 25 minute ke andar poora ka poora khatam ho jaata hai. Log itna saj dhaj ke aate hain aur 25 minute ke andar poora show khatam ho jaata hai. But, I just want to tell you that Shane and Falguni, the way they present themselves in such an international way, I think they have made India so proud. I wish them lots of luck and I hope I get another chance to be with them.' Well, it was a delight to watch Akshay Kumar slay on the ramp. Truly iconic!
