Nvidia's Jensen Huang Becomes World's 6th Richest Billionaire
Jensen Huang, co-founder and CEO of Nvidia has climbed to the sixth spot on the global billionaires list with an estimated net worth of $149.2 billion, according to the latest Forbes rankings.
The tech mogul now trails only $2 billion behind Larry Page, the Google co-founder who holds fifth place with a fortune of around $151 billion.
Huang's meteoric rise in wealth is largely attributed to a rally in Nvidia's stock, which surged after U.S. President Donald Trump's administration announced the lifting of export restrictions on Nvidia chips to China, a pivotal market for the company.
China accounts for approximately 13% of Nvidia's total sales, and the company confirmed it would soon resume shipments of its H20 AI chips to Chinese clients, ending months of trade restrictions that had weighed on investor sentiment.
On Thursday, Nvidia's share price hit a new all-time high of $173, up 1.2% in intraday trading. Given that Huang owns roughly 3% of Nvidia's shares, even modest gains in market capitalization have a significant impact on his personal net worth.
Huang's wealth trajectory has been sharp in recent months. On July 1, 2025, he re-entered the global top 10, after gaining approximately $20 billion in June alone. His net worth on that date stood at $137.6 billion, a milestone that marked his return to elite billionaire status.
The resurgence of Nvidia, driven by surging global demand for AI and data center chips has made Huang one of the most closely watched figures in tech and finance. Still, the CEO remains cautious.
In recent statements, Huang warned that AI could pose risks to jobs if innovation stalls, underscoring the tension between automation and human creativity.
As Nvidia continues to dominate the AI hardware space and the U.S.-China tech dynamic evolves, analysts say Huang may be on course to challenge the very top of the billionaire rankings, especially if Nvidia maintains its upward momentum.

Egypt's Telecom Regulator: 650,000 Mobile Phones Entered Duty-Free with Passengers in 2025
Taarek Refaat Egypt's National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) confirmed on Sunday that over 650,000 mobile phones have entered the country duty-free alongside travelers since the beginning of the year, under the country's mobile device governance system. The authority clarified that the exemption, allowing one mobile device per traveler to enter the country without customs duties, remains in effect as part of the ongoing pilot phase of a broader telecommunications oversight framework. In an official statement, the NTRA denied social media rumors claiming that previously exempted phones would be retroactively taxed or disabled. 'These claims are unfounded,' the statement read. However, the regulator acknowledged detecting abuse of the exemption policy, revealing that approximately 60,000 devices have had their mobile network access suspended pending further investigation. Through a systematic review of the exemption program, the NTRA uncovered 13,000 devices that had illegally benefited from the duty-free rule in violation of regulatory guidelines. These devices remain blocked as of now. Conversely, around 47,000 suspended phones were found to be legitimately exempt and have since been reactivated after verification procedures. Egypt introduced the exemption policy as part of a national framework to regulate and monitor mobile device imports, reduce smuggling, and ensure fair taxation. The initiative is also designed to curb the proliferation of unregistered devices on local telecom networks. The NTRA emphasized its commitment to periodic audits and enforcement, warning against fraudulent attempts to exploit the system. Further technological upgrades and automated checks are expected as the program moves toward full implementation. Egypt's Trade Deficit Narrows to Lowest in Six Years as Exports Surge
Taarek Refaat Egypt's non-oil trade deficit fell sharply in the first half of 2025, reaching its lowest level in six years at $14.3 billion, down nearly 18% year-over-year, according to Bloomberg. The improvement was largely driven by a surge in goods exports, which rose by 22% to $24.5 billion between January and June. Imports during the same period also increased, but only marginally, up 3% to $38.8 billion. In the same period last year, the trade deficit stood at $17.4 billion. The biggest contributor to Egypt's export growth was the building materials and metals sector, which accounted for 30% of total goods exports — approximately $7.5 billion. Other major contributors included: Chemicals and fertilizers: $4.5 billion (18%) Food industries: $3.3 billion (13%) Engineering products: $3.1 billion (12%) Agricultural exports: $2.9 billion (12%) Ready-made garments: $1.6 billion (6.5%) The government aims to increase total exports to $145 billion by 2030, with $118 billion coming from industrial exports. UAE Leads as Top Export Destination Five countries accounted for nearly 40% of Egypt's total exports in the first half of 2025: United Arab Emirates – $3.7 billion (up 163% YoY) Turkey – $1.6 billion Saudi Arabia – $1.4 billion (down 14%) United States – $1.43 billion Italy – $1.37 billion The rise in non-oil exports helped offset declining Suez Canal revenues, which have been impacted by disruptions in Red Sea shipping caused by Houthi attacks. In 2024, Egypt's total exports grew 5.4% to $44.8 billion, of which $39.4 billion were non-oil exports, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics. Despite the positive trend, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib acknowledged in January that Egypt's exports still represent only 10% of GDP, one of the lowest ratios globally. The government's target is to raise this figure to 20–30%, while maintaining import levels at around 20% of GDP, a rate El-Khatib called 'moderate.' As part of its new export support framework, Egypt plans to link incentives to annual increases of 5% in local content, maintaining a minimum threshold of 35% local input for eligibility. The government has also nearly doubled its export support budget, allocating EGP 45 billion ($975 million) for fiscal year 2025–2026, compared to EGP 23 billion the previous year. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language

Elon Musk Plans AI-Powered Revival of Vine
Taarek Refaat Elon Musk is reportedly preparing to bring back the once-beloved short-form video platform Vine, but with a futuristic twist, and artificial intelligence at its core. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Musk hinted at relaunching Vine, the defunct app known for its six-second comedic clips, as part of his broader vision to turn X into an all-encompassing 'everything app.' However, unlike its original standalone form, the new iteration of Vine appears poised to be integrated directly into the X platform, enriched with AI capabilities. We're bringing back Vine, but in AI form — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 24, 2025 While Musk has not provided concrete technical details, the reference to 'AI-powered video' has raised speculation that the reboot could go far beyond algorithmic recommendations. Some experts suggest that it may involve fully AI-generated videos, potentially created from text prompts or user inputs, merging entertainment and generative technology in a way not previously seen on social platforms. Fueling this speculation is Musk's recent announcement of 'Imagine,' a project from his AI company xAI that allows users to create creative videos by converting text into motion using advanced generative models. The technology closely parallels what companies like Google have introduced with platforms such as Veo, which turns text into dynamic visual storytelling. In March, X also quietly acquired Hotshot, a startup focused on producing AI-driven animation and video content. The acquisition signaled X's deeper ambitions to embed real-time video generation into its core experience — a move likely aimed at retaining creator interest and competing with platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels. The promise of AI-generated short videos has sparked excitement, but also concern. Critics note that generative video tools have been controversial on other platforms, where low-quality or offensive content sometimes floods feeds. With Musk's X platform championing an expansive view of 'free speech,' some experts warn that it could become a chaotic space filled with controversial, algorithmically generated clips lasting just 10 seconds. 'AI-generated content has great potential for creativity, but without robust moderation, it could also amplify harmful stereotypes or misinformation,' said digital ethics researcher Dr. Kira Mahmoud. 'Especially on a platform like X, where oversight is minimal, the risks are real.' Although there's no official launch date or confirmed user interface design, what's clear is that this version of Vine won't resemble the looping video app that defined internet humor in the mid-2010s. Instead, Musk's revival effort appears to be part of a broader attempt to reinvent social media content using generative AI, automation, and monetization. read more CBE: Deposits in Local Currency Hit EGP 5.25 Trillion Morocco Plans to Spend $1 Billion to Mitigate Drought Effect Gov't Approves Final Version of State Ownership Policy Document Egypt's Economy Expected to Grow 5% by the end of 2022/23- Minister Qatar Agrees to Supply Germany with LNG for 15 Years Business Oil Prices Descend amid Anticipation of Additional US Strategic Petroleum Reserves Business Suez Canal Records $704 Million, Historically Highest Monthly Revenue Business Egypt's Stock Exchange Earns EGP 4.9 Billion on Tuesday Business Wheat delivery season commences on April 15 News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language
