Fans slam 'woke' Disney after noticing MAJOR characters missing from Toy Story 5 preview
Pixar first confirmed that a fifth installment to the beloved film series was in the works back in 2023.
Now, a new image believed to be a still from the upcoming movie has made its way around the web.
And while many were excited about the glimpse into the flick, others were not happy that some of the original toys weren't included in it.
The snap showed Jessie standing on a bed and facing a group of toys, which included a slew of Bonnie's playmates like Mr. Pricklepants, Trixie, Dolly, and Buttercup.
Some of the playthings that she got from Andy were also there, like Hamm the Pig, Rex, and a bunch of the alien toys.
But many of the original squad members from the beloved movies were missing, and fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to discuss their absence in droves.
Buzz and Woody were both absent from the photo, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head and Slinky Dog.
It was the latter that really caused a stir, as it's already been confirmed that Buzz and Woody will be back for Toy Story 5.
Many began to worry that the adorable couple and mischievous slinky would not be in the fifth movie at all, and were quick to slam the animation studio - which was acquired by Disney in 2006 - over the potential cut.
'WHAT HAPPENED TO MR. AND MRS. POTATO HEAD?' one frantic fan asked.
'What happened to the Potato Heads and Slinky Dog?' questioned another.
'Where's Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head?' a different worried X user wondered.
'NO POTATO HEADS THIS IS TERRIBLE,' yelled someone else.
Many people theorized that Pixar may have 'retired' the characters since their voice actors have passed away.
Don Rickles, who played Mr. Potato Head, died in 2017, while Estelle Harris, who voiced his wife, passed in 2022.
'So did they just retire Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head due to their voice actors having passed away?' read a fifth tweet.
'Their voice actors died, and I guess they didn't want to recast?' a sixth said.
'Actors died so Pixar decided to retire their characters,' theorized another user. 'The Potatoes were beloved, but they were never necessary for the plot.'
Disney has taken numerous strides to become more inclusive in recent years - from amending policies at its theme parks to stop staff from using gendered greetings to removing offensive imagery from rides and movies.
Most notable is when they removed the seven dwarves during their live-action remake of Snow White, replacing them with 'magical creatures' instead.
All of the changes have resulted in Disney earning a reputation for being 'woke,' and some people wondered if Mr. and Mrs. Potato head had been removed for 'woke' reasons.
'We can't even have the Potato Heads back because of woke,' one wrote.
'More woke trash swapping,' scathed another.

Others pointed out that not every character is featured in the new photo so it's still possible that they could still be in the film
The fifth installment to the Toy Story series will follow your favorite group of toys facing a new challenge after their eight-year-old owner Bonnie gets an electronic tablet called Lillypad
Others, however, pointed out that not every character is featured in the new photo so it's still possible that they could still be in the film.
'Mind you half the cast isn't in this shot so chill,' someone else replied, while another added, 'Obviously not every toy is in that picture.'
The fifth installment to the Toy Story series - which will hit theaters on June 19, 2026 - will follow your favorite group of toys facing a new challenge after their eight-year-old owner Bonnie gets an electronic tablet called Lillypad.
Toy Story veterans Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cussack - who played Woody, Buzz, and Jessie respectively in the first four flicks - have all confirmed their return.
The ending of the fourth Toy Story movie left many people heartbroken as Woody decided to part ways with his longtime pals to stay with his love Bo Peep.
But Tim previously told WIVB that Woody will reunite with his character, Buzz, in the new film.
He added, however, that the fifth movie will focus a lot more on Jessie.
'I can tell you that it's a lot about Jessie,' he said. 'Tom and I do - Woody and I - do realign.

Can the video game strike change how AI is used?
Video game performers, represented by SAG-AFTRA, are voting on a tentative agreement to conclude an 11-month strike. The strike, which began last July, primarily concerned pay, control over performers' likenesses, and crucial protections against unregulated artificial intelligence use. The proposed contract includes an immediate pay rise of over 15 per cent, with further annual increases, and strict rules for creating and compensating digital replicas. Employers will need written consent from performers to create digital replicas, provide compensation for their creation time, and issue usage reports. Union leaders emphasize that the agreement establishes key principles of consent, compensation, and transparency for AI use in the video game industry. MTV star Whitney Purvis, who appeared on the reality show 16 And Pregnant, is on suicide watch as she is in prison over a fatal February 17 drug overdose she was formally charged with on Monday. The 33-year-old reality star is being monitored in the Georgia jail where she is being held for involuntary manslaughter according to TMZ on Tuesday. Law enforcement sources for the publication claim that Purvis was medically designated and committed within the jail system after making suicidal comments. The insiders also allege that the reality star is also going through detox as she withdrawals from drug use. This news comes after it was revealed that she had penned an emotional memorial to the man who passed away from the drug overdose. On March 3, Purvis took to the site of the funeral home which handled arrangements for John Mark Harris, a 37-year-old chef who authorities said Purvis provided deadly drugs to that led to his tragic end. 'John mark, I hate that I found out what happened today and missed your funeral,' Purvis wrote on the Henderson & Sons Funeral Home site. 'I wish I could've found out sooner and attended your celebration of life.' The MTV star posted the message more than three months before she was arrested Monday in Floyd County, Georgia in connection with with involuntary manslaughter and distribution of a controlled substance, among other felony counts, TMZ reported Monday. Purvis 'distributed a substance presented as "Tranq," commonly known as Xylazine and Fentanyl, to the victim, which directly contributed in the victim's death due to a toxic overdose,' law enforcement officials said in an arrest affidavit reviewed by People. It's been an awful year for Purvis, who would later pen an emotional memorial for her son Weston following his death at the age of 16 on June 2; Daily Mail has reached out to Purvis via Instagram for further comment on this story. Purvis thanked her late confidante 'for being such a great friend to me and always making me feel beautiful and cared for.' Purvis said that her late friend had been a dear one, as they grew close over their passion for cooking: 'We bonded over being chefs, our love of cooking and our struggle.' Harris had been employed as a chef at Barnsley Gardens, a popular North Georgia resort. She praised Harris for his candor and intelligence in their interactions over the years. Purvis penned an emotional statement in memory of her late friend - whose death she was subsequently charged in 'I could tell you anything and you always knew what to say or give me your honest opinion and advice,' Purvis said. The MTV alum added 'You've came to my rescue on many occasions and saved me over the years. 'I am so very thankful for the times we had together.' Purvis - who's also charged with use of a communication device to commit a felony involving controlled substances - said that she was dealing with serious emotional trauma over the loss of her friend. 'My brain just can't process this happened,' she said. 'I don't want it to be true.' Purvis listed off a number of things she associated with Harris that she would miss in the wake of his passing. 'I'll miss waking up to your silly messages and pictures you'd send me,' she said. 'I'll miss marshal and lunchbox. I'll miss your amazing cooking. 'I'll miss snuggling on the couch watching tv with you. I'll miss sitting outside, smoking camel crush cigs w/ you how we talked about talked about life, gossiping and you telling me what movies/shows I need to watch next.' Purvis characterized her late friend as 'a truly good hearted, one of a kind man' who she would 'never forget.' Purvis, who has more than 17,500 followers on Instagram, wrapped up in saying: 'Rest in peace and my condolences to your family and friends. 'I pray they are able to find some kind of comfort during this tragic time. I love you forever, John Mark. Love, Whitney.' Whitney has been arrested a number of times before. In 2015 she landed in jail after allegedly attacking ex-boyfriend, and father of her two sons, Weston Gosa, with a broom handle Following the death of her son last month, Purvis spoke on social media about how she was understandably struggling in the wake of her child's unexpected passing. 'This is so hard to write,' Purvis said. 'My beautiful son, Weston has passed away. He was only 16 years old. Life is so cruel and unfair. I just dont understand. 'Oh my baby is gone and I don't know what to do with myself. He was so perfect. This is really my worst nightmare come true. 'How do you go on in life after losing a child?' Purvis said she was 'in disbelief,' thinking that 'this cannot be happening' and that she didn't 'want it to be real.' She added of her late son: 'I love you so much, Weston Owen Gosa. I would do anything just to hold him. Words just can't describe the pain I am feeling. 'God, I love you so much. You are my heart. I was so proud of the young man you were becoming. I just can't go on without you.

Pamela Anderson clarifies relationship with Liam Neeson after he said he was 'in love' with her
Pamela Anderson has talked again about her Naked Gun costar Liam Neeson. Fans have not quite been sure what the status of their relationship is after he said he 'loved' her earlier this year. But now the 58-year-old Canadian pinup has set the record straight as the Baywatch queen posed for Entertainment Weekly for their digital cover published on Tuesday. Unfortunately there is no romance yet. 'I think I have a friend forever in Liam,' said Anderson. 'And we definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving, and he's a good guy.' Neeson, 73, stars as Los Angeles Police Squad detective Frank Drebin Jr., son of Nielson's Frank Drebin. Anderson plays a femme fatale character named Beth who asks Frank to solve her brother's murder. Pamela also called Neeson as 'a true artist.' 'He comes from theater and Schindler's List and has done over a hundred films,' she raved about the hunk. 'And I did things inside out and backwards, came from television, and then my personal life kind of overshadowed my professional life,' said the ex-wife of Tommy Lee and Kid Rock. 'It is funny: We all come to this place in different ways, but to be able to share this experience with him is very meaningful and such an honor,' she noted. She also said that he is 'the perfect gentleman' and 'brings out the best in you ... with respect, kindness and depth of experience.' In October Neeson said he was 'madly in love' with the Playboy cover girl. 'She's just terrific to work with,' Neeson told People. 'I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film.' The first Naked Gun films starred Leslie Nielsen and Priscilla Presley: they were in 1988's The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, 1991's The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear, and 1994's Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult. The Naked Gun reboot arrives in theaters August 1, is directed by Akiva Schaffer, and also stars Paul Walter Hauser and Danny Huston. The first trailer for Naked Gun debuted in June 2025, and shows Neeson's character after he succeeded his father at the Los Angeles Police Squad. This comes after Anderson said she doesn't enjoy her 'sex symbol' status. The actress cemented her status as a sex symbol by playing 'C.J.' Parker in Baywatch in the 90s, but Pamela didn't actually enjoy the attention that came her way at the time. During an appearance on the How To Fail With Elizabeth Day podcast, Pamela explained: 'I don't like being a sex symbol. I mean, I think it's not very sexy. I think we all aspire to be sexy in our relationships, but sexy for the world is, I don't know. 'It brought a lot of attention I didn't like, but I hate to say that because I'm not complaining, but I do feel that is a slippery slope where you are presenting yourself to the world like this and you get this attention back that.' Pamela has adopted a makeup-free look on red carpets in recent years, and the actress is now embracing being 'more natural'. She said: 'It can be even scary at times, me not wearing makeup and me being at this age, coming into this part of my career, I felt it was important for me in my personal life, to be more natural. 'I want to challenge myself and become and to be present myself in different ways because women are many things. We're not just the wild animal between the sheets.' Pamela previously admitted to being shocked by the public's reaction to her makeup-free appearance. The Hollywood star actually assumed that no-one would even notice if she decided to stop wearing makeup. She told The Sunday Times newspaper: 'There's these beautiful clothes. I'm wearing Vivienne Westwood. I have this great hat and beautiful coat. Nobody's going to notice if I don't wear any make-up. 'I didn't realize it was going to start all of this, all these people really relating to me.' Pamela feels the public's perception of her has changed over recent times. The actress believes the shift is also beneficial for her two sons. Pamela - who has Brandon, 29, and Dylan, 27, with her ex-husband Tommy Lee - shared: '[My sons] probably don't feel they have to defend their mom any more.'
