Indianapolis mass shooting kills 2 and injures 5, police chief tears into parents; 'I'm tired of it!'
In a press conference on Saturday, Tanya Terry, the Deputy Police Operations Chief, stated that the incident occurred around 1.27 am (0527 GMT) and the police are looking into the crime.
Five people were transferred to the hospital for treatment, while one person was declared dead at the site of the crime. A sixth victim entered a hospital for treatment. Later, one more victim succumbed to his wounds in the hospital.
According to the police officer, three of the victims, including the deceased, were minors. The ages of other victims and their conditions are still awaited.
Police have arrested seven people for interrogation and also discovered firearms from the area.

Indianapolis Police Chief says parents must be hold accountable
Chris Bailey, the chief of police in Indianapolis, denounced the city's downtown crime, which is involves juveniles.
'This kind of violence downtown or in any of our neighborhoods is completely unacceptable and unnecessary,' Bailey stated. 'Hundreds of unsupervised kids down here ... I don't know how many times I have to say it, we are not your children's keepers! You are! And parents and guardians have got to step up. A kid is dead tonight, and we just don't know the age of the young man down the street ... still here, dead.'
According to Bailey, police were responding to calls all night long in an effort to stop this type of violence. 'I'm tired of it,' he said.
Bailey said police conducted over 20 arrests during the course of the night, including confiscating firearms from two kids before the mass shooting took place.
He chastised parents for letting "hundreds of unsupervised kids" wander around the neighborhood after dark.
'We are not your children's keeper. You are. Parents and guardians have got to step up,' he continued.
While thousands of people had quietly left the downtown area after watching the fireworks, he said that some remained there and 'caused trouble.'

Delhi: Over 1,200 rolls of Chinese manjha seized, 3 arrested
Ahead of Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan, the Delhi Police has seized over 1,200 rolls of banned Chinese manjha in the past week and has arrested three men from different places in Delhi. The raids were part of an operation to curb the sale of the illegal thread, police said on Sunday. Chinese manjha uses nylon threads which are sometimes coated with powdered glass. DCP (Crime) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, said that this is a part of a preventive drive before Independence Day. He said Chinese manjha is dangerous to people, birds, and animals. In the past month, two people have died in three separate incidents related to injuries caused by manjha have been reported. The first seizure was conducted at Kamla Market on June 26; the second operation happened in Uttam Nagar on June 27. The third operation took place in Wazirabad on July 5. In total, 1,226 rolls of Chinese manjha were seized. Police have registered three FIRs against the people involved. In the first case, police arrested Raju Chaurasia, 51, from Uttam Nagar. He was running a godown-cum-shop and had 922 rolls of Chinese manjha. 'He previously operated a shop from the ground floor of his residence. He started selling banned Chinese manjha both offline and online due to high profit margins,' DCP Yadav said. In the second case, police arrested Areeb Khan, 22, from Daryaganj. He had 248 rolls of banned string and was caught near Kamla Market. Earlier, Areeb worked at a clothing store but moved to kite-string selling for more profit, the police said. In the third case, Danish Khan, 28, from Babanpuri, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested. Police caught him in Sangam Vihar, Wazirabad, with 56 rolls of manjha. He used to make kites but started selling manjha to earn more money. All three men were booked under the Environment Protection Act and sections of the BNS. Police said that they are trying to find out the larger supply network behind this illegal trade.

New Delhi [India], July 6 (ANI): A team of Crime Branch cracked down illegal trade of Chinese Manjha and nabbed three with huge consignment in three separate operations, huge Consignment of 1226 Rolls of banned 'Chinese Manjha' recovered with first action on June 26 at Kamla Market, second action on 27 June at Jeevan Park, Uttam Nagar, Delhi and third action on July 5 at Sangam Vihar, Wazirabad, Delhi, police said on Sunday. Police said that three separate FIRs were registered by the Crime Branch, and three accused have been arrested. With Independence Day (15th August) and Raksha Bandhan approaching, the Delhi Police has launched a special drive to curb the sale and use of hazardous Chinese Manjha -- a nylon-based kite string that has caused numerous injuries and fatalities involving people, birds, and animals. Based on specific intelligence, a team from the Crime Branch apprehended an accused, Raju Chauras ia (S/o Jeewanlal Chaurasia, age 51), and recovered 922 rolls of banned Chinese Manjha from a godown/shop in Jeewan Park, Uttam Nagar, Delhi. The premises are owned by the accused. A case was registered under FIR No. 160/2025, U/S 223 (B) BNS & 5/15 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, at PS Crime Branch, Delhi. A trap was laid in Jeewan Park, Uttam Nagar, and Raju Chaurasia was apprehended. Although he initially attempted to mislead the police, a thorough search of his premises led to the recovery of 922 rolls of Chinese Manjha. Preliminary investigation revealed that he was selling the banned string offline to known shopkeepers and online via social media platforms like Facebook. He was drawn into the trade by the high profit margins. 922 rolls of banned Chinese Manjha were recovered. The accused has been identified as Raju Chaurasia (51). A team from the Central Range, Crime Branch, Delhi, apprehended Areeb Khan (resident of Daryaganj, Delhi, age (22) while he was attempting to sell banned Chinese Manjha in Central Delhi. Following a string of fatal incidents caused by Chinese Manjha, Crime Branch teams were tasked with closely monitoring its illegal sale across Delhi NCR. Specific information was received by SI Birpal Singh regarding the illegal sale/purchase of nylon-based Chinese Manjha in Central Delhi. Based on this input, a raid was planned and executed by a team. A trap was laid in Kamla Market, where Areeb Khan was apprehended carrying 4 large cartons containing 248 rolls of Chinese Manjha, police said. In another case, 248 Rolls of Banned Chinese Manjha. The accused has been identified as Areeb Khan. In the third case, the accused has been identified as Danish.
