Soap star Alan Fletcher says Neighbours is finishing ‘at its peak'
The programme had its final day of filming earlier this month after its two-year Prime Video revival which followed it being dropped from broadcast by Channel 5 in 2022.
Fletcher, 68, who has played Dr Karl Kennedy for 30 years, said it is 'fair to say' he is now more famous in the UK than Australia due to the popularity of the show here.
He told ITV's Good Morning Britain (GMB): 'It's extremely popular. It sits in the top five programmes (on Amazon).

'I have to say to you, when we finished filming, rather than the sadness we had the first time, I sat back and thought, 'Do you know what? We've been given the opportunity to make the best Neighbours we ever could have made'.
'That's where we finished up. I reckon Neighbours is at its peak.'
The cast wrapped filming on July 11 at Nunawading Studios and the soap's final broadcast after 40 years will be in December.
The programme, which launched the careers of Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce among others, has followed the lives of people living and working in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough since 1985.
Neighbours was dropped by Channel 5 in 2022 after it failed to secure new funding, with a finale episode in July that year attracting an average audience of 2.5 million when several well-known characters returned to the show to say goodbye.
The soap's return was announced in late 2022, with a social media clip featuring some of the characters being told the news.
In February this year it was announced the programme would end after reports production company Fremantle failed to secure a deal with Amazon.

Critical Role's new Amazon-backed series is leaning hard into the art style that made Japanese anime so much money
If there's one maxim the Critical Role team seems to be leaning into with its latest slate of Amazon-backed animation, it's to make the characters as hot as possible. And not just regular hot: Japanese anime-style hot. At San Diego Comic Con, the cofounders of the nerdworld business dropped the November 19 release date for their coming Prime Video animated series, "The Mighty Nein." The series is based on the team's second long-running "Dungeons & Dragons" campaign, which it streamed on Twitch and other platforms for 141 episodes from 2018 to 2021. The main characters in the "Mighty Nein" are voiced by their creators — the eight CR cofounders. There were also sneak peeks of the new character art. There's something for everyone! Japanese anime is a multibillion-dollar industry that the CR cofounders know well. Most of the team started their entertainment careers as anime voice actors. Matthew Mercer, the group's chief creative officer, was the English voice of the wildly popular anime, "Attack on Titan." He also voiced the devastatingly pretty Vincent Valentine, a fan favorite character in Square Enix's remake of the "Final Fantasy" video game series. At San Diego Comic Con, Prime Video announced "The Legend of Vox Machina" is getting its fifth and last season. The CR crew also announced that the hit show's fourth season will air in 2026. "TLOVM" was the initial project through which CR secured an $11.3 million Kickstarter fundraising round to create the show. It has aired three seasons of 12 episodes apiece so far. "It's so rare for any television series to get to tell a complete story, beginning to end, exactly as it was envisioned," said executive producers and Critical Role co-founders Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham in a press release.

‘Mighty Nein' Rolls ‘Critical Role' Into a New Animated Era
Critical Role fans won with the continued success of the Vox Machina animated series, and now they're about to win again with the upcoming Mighty Nein spinoff. At San Diego Comic-Con, the cast (and creators) of the whole enterprise unveiled a first proper look at the series and its new band of screwups. Set decades after Vox Machina in the continent of Wildmount, our team here consists of graffiti artist Jester Lavorre (Laura Bailey), pirate Fjord (Travis Willingham), monk/detective Beau Lionett (Marisha Ray), smelly sorcerer Caleb Widogast, thief Nott, and carnies Mollymauk Tealeaf (Taliesen Jaffe) and Yasha Nydoorin (Ashley Johnson). Unlike the Vox crew, the Nein gang aren't exactly all friends with each other at the outset, but they'll have to put all that aside when a powerful arcane relic called the Beacon is stolen and it falls to them to save the world(s). Like the mothership show, the Mighty Nein adaptation will shake things up so it's not just a 1-to-1 recreation of the Actual Play series. The first season will occasionally shift perspective over to Essek Thelyss, an elf from the Kryn Dynasty who eventually becomes a key ally of the Nein in the campaign. But before that, he'll be 'not a very good person,' Willingham teased to Entertainment Weekly, and the new scenes that weren't part of the initial campaign will show what he was getting up to for his people. He's…a bit of a mess, which makes him a perfect fit for the Nein once they link up. 'A big thing that drew me to that show was just the trauma of all the characters,' showrunner Tasha Huo told EW. 'The show reflects a more mature, more elevated storytelling. There's more drama; there is more filmmaking involved. We really try to treat the show like a live-action show, which is tonally different than Vox Machina but still keeps within the same world.' Which is it – The Mighty Nein or The Sensual Seven?
