Zap Launches New Payments Offering, Powered by TrueLayer and DNA Payments
Zap's payment functionality is secured by TrueLayer, Europe's foremost Pay by Bank provider and DNA Payments, one of Europe's leading independent players in card payments. Over a quarter of Zap's clients are already using the service.
The launch comes on the back of rising demand from end users and merchants to deliver faster, smoother payment journeys, features that are essential in the highly competitive gaming space. With Zap Cashier, end-users will enjoy a fully integrated pay-in and pay-out journey, eliminating the need for manual bank transfers.
For merchants, Zap Cashier is already delivering significant time and cost savings, with less administration needed thanks to its full integration with the Zap platform. The service will also deliver enhanced customer support for Zap's clients and their users.
Capital Competitions have been an early adopter of Zap's payment proposition. Jamie Jackson, Director at Capital Competitions said: "Since moving to Zap our customer feedback has been great. The flow is clear and easy to use. We have noticed a much higher acceptance rate with less payment declines. The interface is simple and easy to use with great reporting tools on revenue received."
Steven Sefton Digital Director at Zap said: 'This is the culmination of over a year's worth of development to deliver our customers a better player experience. It's a pleasure to be working with DNA Payments and TrueLayer to deliver better services to platforms and their users alike.'
'Pay by Bank is redefining how platforms handle payments,' said Mariko Beising, VP Partnerships at TrueLayer. 'Zap's move reflects the broader shift we're seeing: businesses across industries are turning to Pay by Bank to deliver better user experiences and lower payment costs.'
Colin Neil, Head of Corporate at DNA Payments, added: 'Simple, unified payments are the foundation of a great user experience and are an absolute necessity across a number of sectors. With our market-leading payment platform and Zap's drive to deliver the best competition system in the UK, we're able to deliver a best-in-class experience for site owners and users.'
DNA Payments has direct plugins with leading eCommerce CMS platforms like Big Commerce and WooCommerce, underpinned by its leading checkout payments gateway. This unrivalled expertise in online payments allowed the team to help bring this product to market.

Asda enhances family leave policy, supporting 140,000 employees
UK-based grocery retailer Asda has improved its family leave policies, providing its 140,000 employees with increased support during significant life events. The updated policy exceeds standard statutory leave and pay, aiming to assist employees through new parenthood, caregiving and bereavement. For hourly employees, maternity and adoption leave pay has been increased from 12 weeks to 26 weeks. Paternity leave has been doubled from two weeks to four weeks at full contractual pay, with the extension also applying to secondary kinship carers. A brand-new policy for primary kinship carers has been established, offering 26 weeks of company leave and pay. For those experiencing pregnancy loss before 24 weeks, Asda has enhanced its existing policy to provide two weeks of company-paid leave. Asda general counsel and interim chief people officer Helen Selby stated: "We're proud to be introducing new and enhanced family-friendly policies, which underline our commitment to fostering an inclusive and colleague-focused workplace. 'We want our colleagues to feel supported during some of the most important – and occasionally most challenging – moments in their lives. These changes further build on the progress we've made over the last year in supporting the beating heart of our business - our fantastic colleagues." These updates align with Asda's announcement to invest £80m ($109.1m) earlier this year to raise the hourly rates for store-based employees. In November 2024, Asda launched a neonatal care leave policy, granting additional leave and pay to employees with newborns requiring neonatal care treatment. Eligible employees can take up to a maximum of 12 weeks of paid leave in addition to their entitlement to maternity, paternity or adoption leave. Retail trade union Usdaw national officer Jayne Allport stated: 'Following ongoing discussions between Asda and Usdaw, we are pleased that the company has committed to providing valuable, additional support for our members when they need it most. We welcome that the company values the parents and carers working for them and understands their needs in balancing life and work.' In June 2025, Asda revealed plans for a £10m ($13.5m) refurbishment programme across its more than 180 in-store cafés to enhance customer experience. "Asda enhances family leave policy, supporting 140,000 employees" was originally created and published by Retail Insight Network, a GlobalData owned brand. BII Commits $803 million Worth Impact Investments in Asia
The amount is significantly bigger than that of 2023 when BII invested GBP 245 million in Asian companies and a further GBP 225 million in businesses with operations spanning Asia and Africa. You're reading Entrepreneur India, an international franchise of Entrepreneur Media. British International Investment, the UK's development finance institution and impact investor, has announced its commitment of GBP 626 million (USD 803 million) to Asian businesses in 2024 to support inclusive economic growth and combat the climate emergency. The amount is significantly bigger than that of 2023 when BII invested GBP 245 million in Asian companies and a further GBP 225 million in businesses with operations spanning Asia and Africa. BII has said that the increase in investment was despite the difficult investment environment caused by macroeconomic headwinds. BII's total net assets currently increased to GBP 9.9 billion up from GBP 8.5 billion in 2023, while post-tax profits improved to GBP 213.3m compared with a GBP 44 million loss in 2023. Globally BII invested GBP 1.75 billion in 2024. The figures are contained in BII's Annual Review, which was published today. In total, BII invested USD 903 million in climate finance in 2024, 41 per cent of its overall commitments for the year. This compares with just USD 104 million in 2020. The company's climate finance assets now make up over 26 per cent of its entire portfolio, up from just over 15 per cent in 2020. Over the last three years, BII has invested over USD 2 billion in climate finance. According to BII, based on all direct renewable energy investments in BII's 2023 portfolio, 1.5 million tons of CO2e emissions were avoided on an attributed basis, a 54 per cent year-on-year increase. This was driven by a growing renewable asset base in the portfolio and increases in the amount of renewable power produced. Srini Nagarajan, Managing Director and Head of Asia at BII, said, "Our 2024 investment figures demonstrate our steadfast commitment to our Asian markets as we focus on delivering inclusive economic growth and meeting the challenge of the climate emergency. BII will continue to play a pivotal role in mobilising private capital, particularly for climate finance across South and South-East Asia." BII also made GBP 499 million of gender finance commitments in 2024 and GBP 880 million of commitments to the poorer and most fragile countries across the regions where it invests.
