One Night starring Jodie Whittaker comes to ITV1 & ITVX this August

ITV News4 days ago
ITV1 & ITVX will broadcast One Night, the six-part mystery drama, exclusively for a UK audience in August.
Starring Jodie Whittaker, Nicole da Silva (Wentworth, Rush) and Yael Stone (Orange Is the New Black), One Night is the story of three women whose bond was all but destroyed by the traumatic events of one night 20 years ago.
Since then, Simone (Nicole da Silva) has harboured secret hopes of becoming a novelist but most of her haphazard attempts have been shoved into her bottom drawer. Now, at the age of 40, she has finally written the one story she could never get out of her mind, and her debut manuscript has become an unexpected overnight success.
But it soon becomes apparent that the devastating story the book tells doesn't exclusively belong to her. At the heart of Simone's novel is a tragedy which also happened to Tess (Jodie Whittaker) and Hat (Yael Stone), her two childhood best friends.
As it becomes harder to prise fact from fiction, one person's memory and story from another's, the book threatens to derail all their friendships, bringing old traumas to the surface of the small coastal community where they grew up, and stirring its perpetrators, who want to make it all go away.
Created and written by the award-winning Emily Ballou (The Slap, Taboo) and directed by Catherine Millar (The Twelve, The Secrets She Keeps) and Lisa Matthews (Doctor Doctor, The PM's Daughter), the full series will be available on the streaming platform.
The ensemble cast includes Kat Stewart (Five Bedrooms, Offspring), George Mason (The Power of the Dog), Erroll Shand (Underbelly: Land of the Long Green Cloud), Noni Hazlehurst (A Place To Call Home, Fires), Tina Bursill (Doctor Doctor), William Zappa (The Dry, Miss Fisher & the Crypt of Tears), Damien Strouthos (The Twelve) and Jillian Nguyen (Barons).

Daniel Craig's best James Bond movie is available to stream on ITV now

A James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig that has been described as the most 'visually stunning' in the franchise is now available to stream on a major UK platform. In what is a huge win for devoted 007 fans, Skyfall has arrived on ITVX more than a decade after its release in 2012. Starring Javier Barden, Judie Dench and Ralph Fiennes, the thriller was a smash hit amongst fans and critics. It was also the third of Craig's performances, directed by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes, who is known for 1917 and American Beauty, and shot by Roger Deakins. Taking to social media, @CinemaTweets1 said: 'Javier Bardem's performance as Raoul Silva is my favorite James Bond villain ever. Skyfall honestly feels like a stand-alone film or outlier from the rest of the Bond series given the creative decisions made by Sam Mendes. Bardem is also a big reason- he's a worthy adversary.' @BestMovieMom added: 'Skyfall will remain the most visually stunning James Bond film for a long time.' @Danimalish also said: 'Whenever I watch SKYFALL I'm convinced I'm watching the best James Bond film. 'From Daniel Craig's steely performance to the incredible supporting cast including Judi Dench, to of course Roger Deakins' immaculate cinematography. This was the peak of the Daniel Craig era.' Meanwhile, @TheCinesthetic wrote: 'As the third film in Craig's run, Skyfall isn't just a great Bond film…it's a visual triumph. Roger Deakins turned espionage into art.' The film follows Bond as he pursues an assassin in Istanbul to retrieve a stolen list containing the identities of undercover agents. However, the plan goes disastrously wrong, leaving Chief M (Dench) forced to take drastic action. The espionage thriller was nominated for five Oscars and went on to claim two of them for Best Sound Editing and Best Original Song, which was given to Adele. Its move on to ITVX comes as ITV dropped all episodes of a gripping crime thriller that fans hailed as 'phenomenal'. The tense eight-episode drama, Under the Bridge, has finally landed on ITV for viewers to watch for free in the UK, and you are in for an emotional rollercoaster. The 2024 series stars Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone opposite Daisy Jones and the Six actor Riley Keough. More Trending Elsewhere in the James Bond universe, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight was named as the screenwriter for the latest Bond film. Amazon MGM onfirmed on social media on Thursday night that Knight will pen the script for the next instalment. The announcement follows an intensive search by Amazon MGM, which gained full creative control of the Bond series earlier this year from Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. Olivia Attwood lands another TV job as she's set to front brand new show

Former Love Islander Olivia Attwood has bagged herself another presenting job as her TV career goes from strength to strength - this time working with a Michelin star chef on a reality show Loose Women panellist Olivia Attwood will host a brand reality TV show, which will see contestants go head to head for their dream job in a Michelin star restaurant. Olivia has bagged herself a job as the presenter of The Heat, where 10 chefs will compete to work for Jean-Christophe Novelli, as he searches for the next rising star to work at his Barcelona eatery. ‌ The show, which will air on ITV2 and ITVX in 2026, will also follow the cast outside of the kitchen, with the potential for tempers to flare and emotion to bubble over as they battle it out to win. Viewers will witness promotions, demotions, power plays, sackings and shock decisions throughout the series, according to producers. ‌ Olivia, 34, has honed her craft while presenting a number of documentaries for ITV, as well as making her debut on This Morning last week, alongside regular host Dermot O'Leary. It comes after one Mirror writer claimed 'the new Bonnie Blue documentary may be the worst thing I've ever seen on Channel 4'. ‌ Speaking about her incredible new gig, she said: 'It is such an honour to host this brand-new format for ITV2 and ITVX. Being at the helm of something this fresh and exciting is a total pinch-me moment!' Novelli, who has previously appeared as a judge on MasterChef Australia, said: 'I couldn't be more thrilled to join this new exciting show and help spotlight the next generation of culinary talent. Known for my drive and intensity in the kitchen, I'll be using my passion and unique teaching style to push these young chefs to dig deep, stay sharp, and prove they have what it takes to grow, evolve, and make their mark. ‌ 'I'll mentor them to use all five senses together and put it all on the plate, the right way. It's going to be a wild ride, and I know we'll discover some true culinary stars along the way.' Paul Mortimer, director of reality commissioning and acquisitions at ITV, said: 'The Heat is the perfect fusion of a high-stakes cooking show with real-life drama, and with the fantastic Olivia at the forefront alongside the renowned Jean-Christophe calling the shots in the kitchen, it's shaping up to be a new reality obsession for our younger viewers on ITV2 and ITVX.' Former Love Island star Olivia has forged a career as a presenter over recent years, following her appearance on the reality dating show in 2017. She partnered up with Chris Hughes, with the couple making it to the final and coming third. ‌ They continued their turbulent relationship after the show, but their frequent rows and accusations of cheating saw them split up in February 2018. They even documented their post-villa life in their own reality show, Crackin' On, but it was cut short when they split. Olivia has since married footballer Bradley Dack, and she and Chris have not spoken in years. Liv and Brad swapped vows in June 2023 in an intimate ceremony at a five-star hotel in Knightsbridge. ‌ The couple said said "I do" in front of 80 guests, including family friends, and Love Island stars including Amber Davies and Georgia Harrison. The couple moved into their plush £1million Cheshire home in October 2022, which they share with their dogs Lola and Stitch. They've also welcomed cameras into their own lives and home since 2020 in the reality docu-series Olivia Meets Her Match. The show follows the couple in their every-day lives, giving viewers a look at how their relationship is going behind the scenes.
