Legendary Scots DJ shares devastating 'untreatable' brain tumour diagnosis

Keith McIvor, aka acclaimed DJ and producer JD Twitch, is one half of the duo behind the legendary Optimo (Espacio).
A top Scots DJ behind one of Glasgow's most famous club nights has revealed he is battling an 'untreatable' brain tumour.
Keith McIvor, aka acclaimed DJ and producer JD Twitch, is one half of the legendary Optimo (Espacio). Keith - who usually plays alongside Jonnie Wilkes - had missed gigs over the last several weeks, including the duo's set at Glastonbury, having been admitted to hospital.

On Thursday, he shared details of his diagnosis, saying he will be prioritising spending time with his family.

In an emotional post to fans on social media, Keith said: "Over the past few weeks I have received lots of enquiries about my health having missed several gigs since being admitted to the hospital. Following extensive tests I've been diagnosed with a brain tumour and I have been told my condition is untreatable.
"As you can imagine, I am currently trying to process this news and prioritising spending precious time with the people I love. I know this may be difficult news to receive through social media, and I'm sorry if it feels sudden or impersonal."
Keith said his symptoms"weren't immediately diagnosed" and his health has declined quickly over just a few weeks.
He added that the post on Instagram felt like the "clearest and kindest way" to let people know what was happening.
"I truly appreciate everyone's love and concern, it means the world to me," said Keith. "I would really love to hear from you, but it is too difficult for me to reply and process your communications directly. Please respect my privacy and space, and only contact me via the message board we have set up."

McIvor launched Optimo (Espacio) with DJ Jonnie, aka JG Wilkes, as a weekly Sunday-night event in Glasgow's Sub Club in 1997. It went on to build a reputation for its expansive music and became one of Scotland's most popular club nights, before coming to an end in 2010.
The duo continued to DJ, playing festivals and gigs around the world, but McIvor's condition meant that he was unable to play at Optimo's recent shows, including their own festival, Watching Trees.

Thanking everyone who supported him throughout his journey in music, from the early days of Pure in Edinburgh in the 90s and over the past 28 years of Optimo (Espacio), he confirmed that Jonnie will continue to take Optimo (Espacio) forward.
He said: "Jonnie and I have been lucky enough to play our music at countless clubs and festivals throughout the world and it has been one of the greatest honours of my life to make a career out of something I love. We have connected with so many beautiful souls through our shared passion for music.

"I want to say also that Watching Trees festival holds a very special place in my heart. It's a project I've loved being part of and curating, and I know the incredible WT crew will continue to help it grow into an even more magical and meaningful experience. I trust Jonnie implicitly to continue Optimo (Espacio). I know he will carry it forward with the same spirit and passion we always shared showing you, as ever, just how much 'we love your ears'."
Coming together after first meeting on a bus from Glasgow to Edinburgh some time in the mid 1990s, Keith and Jonnie went on to found arguably the city's most iconic club night - the pair have since travelled all over the globe, headlining countless clubs, festivals and events.
In a statement about his long-term friend and collaborator, Jonnie stated he that it was "painful to put into words" how he felt, and said: "Keith and I have been through so much together in our 28 year partnership. We are connected in a way that perhaps only he and I can understand. I do know however, that if you ever heard us play together then you will have realised how deep that connection is. I love you Keith. You inspired me like nobody else could and I'm so proud of what we've done together.
"I will continue Optimo (Espacio) with you always in my heart. The music will speak for both of us. Your anarchic spirit and your ferocious energy is all around me."

Coco Austin's latest 'micro thong' snaps leave fans stunned in her wildest post yet

On Tuesday, Nicole 'Coco' Austin stunned her captive, combined 14.4M social media following by sharing gratuitous snaps of her famously curvaceous 'booty' which had been specifically 'requested' by fans. The 46-year-old buxom model left very little to the imagination posing in her star-spangled micro-thong bikini on the Fourth of July while poolside in what might have been Arizona as she had stopped by the spa AZ Body Bar in Gilbert on June 27. 'We asked for the back,' Instagram user @gilramz commented with excited emojis. 'We got the back.' Instagram user @peril_la_tigre jokingly wrote: 'The [1999 Sisqó] song says, "let me see your thong" - yours plain disappeared!' 'That booty has to be deemed one of the wonders of the world at this point,' Instagram user @d_bo_fresh marveled. 'Love ya @coco!' And Instagram user @ang6007 wanted a Kylie Jenner-style breakdown of Coco's secret: 'Seriously what are you doing? Fat transfers? No way your booty is getting bigger over 45. Mine has grown in gym and I know fat transfers help too. Keep it real sis.' Back in 2012, Austin appeared on the sydnicated talk show The Doctors where plastic surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon performed an ultrasound to scan for butt implants, and he quickly declared: 'Coco's buttocks are 100% real.' However, in nineties-era modeling snaps the Tarzana-born, Albuquerque-raised bombshell Instastoried on Tuesday, her derrière appeared much smaller and more natural. Coco has clearly undergone the same suspicious hip and rear-boosting tactics as celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.

Gregg Wallace: Timeline of misconduct review amid reports of MasterChef sacking

The 60-year-old, who stepped away from hosting the BBC show last year amid the allegations, has been hit by a new wave of claims published by the news site on Tuesday. In an Instagram post he claimed that the findings of the investigation, which are yet to be published, 'exonerates me of all the serious allegations which made headlines last year'. Here we take a look at the allegations made against the TV star: – November 28 2024 Wallace faces allegations of inappropriate sexual comments from 13 people across a range of shows over a 17-year period, as reported by BBC News. The TV star steps away from presenting MasterChef while Banijay, the show's production company, announces it is conducting an external review to 'fully and impartially investigate' the claims against him. BBC News says allegations include the presenter 'talking openly about his sex life, taking his top off in front of a female worker saying he wanted to 'give her a fashion show', and telling a junior female colleague he was not wearing any boxer shorts under his jeans'. Broadcaster Kirsty Wark, who was a Celebrity MasterChef contestant in 2011, says he told 'sexualised' jokes during filming. Model Ulrika Jonsson tells The Telegraph that when she competed on Celebrity MasterChef in 2017, Wallace allegedly had to apologise after making a 'rape joke', which caused another female contestant to become 'really distressed'. Sir Rod Stewart takes to Instagram following the accusations, accusing Wallace of 'humiliating' his wife Penny Lancaster on Celebrity MasterChef in 2021. Producer and director Dawn Elrick posts a letter on Instagram which includes a number of anonymous accounts from people who allege they 'have experienced sexism and sexual harassment within the TV industry'. She claims the letter, which accuses Wallace of making lewd comments, was sent to the BBC in 2022. The TV star's lawyers say 'it is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature', BBC News reports. Wallace thanks his Instagram followers for 'showing their support'. – November 29 2024 Wallace faces a string of new allegations with one woman, who worked on a travel show with him, accusing him of making 'lesbian jokes constantly', as reported by BBC News. The charity Ambitious About Autism says it had dropped Wallace as an ambassador, citing the 'recent allegations'. – November 30 2024 The Sunday Telegraph reports producer Georgia Harding, who worked on MasterChef between 2014 and 2015 and later Eat Well For Less, claimed she raised concerns about 'inappropriate' behaviour from him while working on the show. Banijay UK confirms it has appointed law firm Lewis Silkin to lead the investigation into Wallace's alleged behaviour. – December 1 2024 Wallace says in a video posted to Instagram that accusations about him making sexual comments towards staff and guests have come from 'middle-class women of a certain age'. TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp tells BBC Radio 4's The World This Weekend that she was 'so embarrassed' she thought she 'might cry' after Wallace allegedly made a comment to her about his sex life. Celebrity MasterChef 2012 champion Emma Kennedy tells Times Radio the former greengrocer 'just doesn't understand that some behaviour is completely inappropriate'. – December 2 2024 Downing Street says Wallace's response to the accusations being made against him was 'inappropriate and misogynistic'. A spokesperson also says that Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has held talks with BBC bosses in the wake of the Wallace row. Following the backlash, Wallace apologises for any 'offence' or 'upset' he caused with his remarks and said he will now 'take some time out' while the investigation is under way. – December 3 2024 Two MasterChef celebrity Christmas specials are pulled from the BBC's schedule. Wallace faces fresh allegations with one woman claiming he touched her bottom after an event and another alleging he pressed his crotch against her while filming on a different show, according to BBC News. – December 4 2024 Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer says politicians should be ready to put in place 'mechanisms' that would instil 'confidence' that women will be taken seriously in reports of inappropriate behaviour after a Labour MP asked him about 'women of a certain age', reflecting comments Wallace apologised for. MasterChef presenter John Torode says in a social media post that he 'loves being part of' the programme and 'will continue to be a part of it' after Wallace stepped back from the show. A ghostwriter claims Wallace sexually harassed her while she was working on his 2012 autobiography. A post shared by Gregg Wallace MBE (@greggawallace) – December 10 2024 Ms Nandy says she is 'prepared to take further action' if the creative industries cannot address 'cultures of silence and issues being swept under the rug' in relation to claims of misconduct while appearing before the Culture, Media and Sport (CMS) Committee. – April 25 2025 Wallace tells the Daily Mail he 'thought about suicide all the time' after allegations of misconduct were made against him. – July 8 2025 Wallace is sacked as MasterChef presenter following the inquiry into his alleged misconduct by production company Banijay, BBC News reports. Fresh claims about the TV presenter are made from 50 more people to the corporation including allegations he groped one MasterChef worker and pulled his trousers down in front of another, BBC News says. The majority claim he made inappropriate sexual comments, with 11 women accusing him of inappropriate sexual behaviour, such as groping and touching. BBC News says it has not seen the final review from Banijay, but it is understood the presenter has been sacked. In an Instagram post the former greengrocer claims he had been cleared of the 'most serious and sensational accusations' against him, ahead of the published review. He also said he recognises that some of his humour and language was inappropriate 'at times' and apologised for this.

Outlander fans 'screaming' over closest look at Blood of My Blood spin-off yet

New images of the Outlander prequel series, Blood of My Blood, have been released, showing an even closer look at the cast of the forthcoming spin-off Outlander enthusiasts have been tantalised with yet another snapshot of the highly-anticipated prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood. On Monday (7th July), The Hollywood Reporter exclusively unveiled a fresh array of snapshots featuring the primary cast members of the forthcoming prequel. ‌ These images offered an unprecedented glimpse at key secondary characters who will stand alongside stars Harriet Slater, Jamie Roy, Hermione Corfield, and Jeremy Irvine. ‌ The lineup reveals Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Conor MacNeill taking on Ned Gowan, and Tony Curran stepping into the shoes of Lord Lovat, Jamie Fraser's (played by Sam Heughan) grandfather. Set partly within the historical context of 18th Century Scotland, the new ten-part drama on Starz will see Slater and Roy portray the young iterations of Jamie Fraser's parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, reports the Scottish Daily Express. Additionally, Corfield and Irvine are set to depict Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp during the First World War era, playing the roles of Claire Randall's (Caitriona Balfe) parents.. Social media platforms buzzed with excitement as eager fans flooded Instagram comments to voice their support for the latest casting news. A fervent admirer gushed: "Excuse me while I go scream!" in response to the development. ‌ Another enthused commenter stated: "Thank you for sharing! I can't wait to watch the blood of my blood!" While one more added: "Everything seems to indicate that it's going to be a great series. Best of luck." One eager fan commented: "Oh I cannot wait. And I can wait for outlander season 8 because once it comes, then that really is the end." ‌ The forthcoming prequel's synopsis reveals: "The series will center on these two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, with Jamie's parents in the early 18th century Scottish Highlands and Claire's parents in WWI England." ‌ Devotees have precisely a month to wait as the inaugural episode of Blood of My Blood will debut on Friday, 8th August. Fortunately, this initial 10-episode series won't be the last we see of Brian, Harriet, Julia and Henry as the spin-off has already been commissioned for a second series. There's also the eighth and concluding series of the original Outlander to anticipate, which will officially conclude Claire and Jamie's historical escapades. However, author Diana Gabaldon is still penning the 10th and reportedly final novel in her original series, A Blessing for a Warrior Going Out, ensuring there's plenty more Outlander content to look forward to in the years ahead.
