Guy Fieri reality show winner files lawsuit alleging breach of contract over Chicken Guy! franchise

A man who was promised the "chance of a lifetime" from Guy Fieri filed a lawsuit against the celebrity chef, alleging that the Food Network star's company failed to live up to the offer he gave to the winner of his reality show. Kevin Cooper won "Guy's Chance of a Lifetime" in 2022, a reality competition show that promised the winner their franchise of Fieri's Chicken Guy! restaurant chain. Cooper, however, alleges Fieri's company breached a contract in a complaint filed last week in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Fieri is not personally a defendant in the lawsuit, but his company, Chicken Guy, as well as the company of his business partner. A representative for Fieri did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The "King of Flavortown" told contestants in the show's finale that one of them would earn the key to the franchise with a "full restaurant build out." Fieri also promised other perks, including a first year's salary and start-up capital. Cooper's franchise opened in February 2024 and closed roughly a year later. The lawsuit alleges that the two companies behind the chicken brand failed to provide the promised $100,000 salary and failed to cover more than $68,000 worth of expenses related to the franchise. The contest winner alleges that he had to take out a personal loan of $13,500 to cover some of the cost due to Fieri's delay, according to the lawsuit. Cooper's lawsuit requests full payment of the promised salary and reimbursement of the expenses. "Guy's Chance of a Lifetime" originally aired on Food Network in late 2021 and early 2022, with only six episodes. In the finale, Fieri announces Cooper as the first-place winner but promises to waive franchise fees for all the other contestants if they choose to open up a Chicken Guy! location of their own. Fieri told Cooper that he showed "so much strength" throughout the competition and promised to open Cooper's franchise in Cooper's hometown of Philadelphia. Cooper was in tears after winning the grand prize. "This is crazy right now, I can't even believe it," Cooper said. "But I really came here and fought the hardest fight I could possibly fight. And I'm just happy, I'm grateful, and I'm thankful. And I'm just lost for words."

Anne-Marie steps out with baby daughter weeks after giving birth to second child

Pop star Anne-Marie was seen out with her baby daughter as she braved a walk in the sun following the birth of her second child with husband Slowthai Anne-Marie stepped out for a solo walk with her young child as she braved the London heat. The singer, 34, welcomed her second child with Slowthai - whose real name is Tyron Kaymone Frampton - last month. They were already proud parents to daughter Seven, who was born in February 2024. Anne-Marie has now been seen with her daughter for the first time since she announced she'd given birth to her son. ‌ She stepped out for a stroll with her little girl as she pushed her along in a pushchair. The Ciao Adios hitmaker kept cool in an oversized white T-shirt and a pair of baggy shorts. ‌ Anne-Marie kept her blonde locks tied up and made sure to adjust the fan on the pushchair as the mum and daughter dealt with the heat. Just last month, the pop star announced the birth of her second child. She had regularly updated fans along the pregnancy journey and announced the happy news of her new arrival on Instagram. The singer posted a string of photos – including adorable snaps of her newborn tot and her in labour – on her page. Anne-Marie: "Another beautiful little thing has entered our lives," followed by a trio of red heart emojis before she added: "hello everyone" and ended the post with three sunshine emojis. She had previously revealed the gender of their new baby on Capital Breakfast. As Anne-Marie sat down with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby in April, she was asked if she knew what she was having. ‌ An excited Sian asked: "Can you tell us?" Anne-Marie then answered: "Yeah, it's a boy!" "That's so exciting!" Chris said as Anne-Marie admitted she's having one of each and "then I'm done." The Rockabye singer revealed in February this year that she was expecting her second child - with the news being announced one year after she had welcomed a daughter named Seven. ‌ She had posted a clip of her cradling her baby bump while miming and dancing to her song Don't Panic. Alongside the clip of herself, she teased to fans in the caption: "Surprise." Anne-Marie, who toured last year following Seven's arrival, had previously described working with a newborn as "the hardest thing". She told fans in August last year: "It is definitely the hardest thing working and being a mumma. I mean, it's the hardest thing JUST being a mumma without the working part!" She also teased how "so many people" have "made it look so easy," before adding: "But here we are, peas in a pod. We're doing it." Anne-Marie then described her months-old daughter as "so beautiful, "so chunky" and "so perfect". ‌ Before giving birth to her boy, Anne-Marie opened up on the "hardest" year. In December, she reflected on 2024 as she looked back on the turbulent past 12 months. She wrote: "2024 the most beautiful yet hardest year of our lives. God really tryina see how strong I am hahaha. I miss you all and I love you all more than you'll ever know. "I have SO MUCH for you in the new year that you'll probably be sick of me (please don't be) have the best break if you can and see you soon."

Mark Labbett issued warning about The Chase bosses to Anne Hegerty over big decision

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The Chase star Mark Labbett issued a warning to co-star Anne Hegerty as she faced a major decision on the ITV show. Mark, 59, was one of the two original Chasers on the show alongside Shaun Wallace. They were joined in the second series by 66-year-old Anne. During the initial 10-show run, Mark became known as The Beast, a moniker Anne says he offered to producers as the French version of his surname. With the imposing character starting to take off, Anne says producers decided she and Shaun should also be given a nickname. Shaun, 65, became known as The Dark Destroyer, while Anne was given the title The Governess. Although the quiz master revealed she could have adopted a very different persona on the show. She says producers originally intended to call her 'The Headmistress', which prompted a word of warning from Mark and an impromptu change from show host Bradley. Speaking on the Towards Understanding podcast, Anne said: 'They wanted me to be The Headmistress, and I was like, 'Erm, okay, sounds great.' And I remember Mark saying to me, 'You should choose your own nickname, otherwise they will impose one on you that you don't like'. (Image: ITV) 'So I thought, 'Fine, fine, I'm going to be The Headmistress,' and then during rehearsals, it was a year since the boys had done the show and I hadn't done it at all, and during rehearsals, Bradley, I noticed, started calling me The Governess, and I said to producers, 'Could I be called that instead?' 'I think what appealed to me about it is that a governess is much more of a free agent. A governess is like Mary Poppins, she can do whatever she likes, while a headmistress is bound by the board of governors, she is essentially a salaried employee, whereas a governess can take off when the wind changes. So I thought I'd rather be a governess I think.' Anne went on to explain that she decided to base the character of The Governess on one of her grandmothers, an aunt, and the headmaster's wife at her secondary school. She said: 'I think originally I wanted her to be a bit nastier and creepier. (Image: Getty) 'I wanted her to be a bit more like Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter. Somebody a few years ago, an American actually, said my character was [Harry Potter character] Professor McGonagall-ish and I thought, 'Yeah, she has moods of being from Umbridge to McGonagall', and I'd rather be McGonagall really, I mean she's a goodie for one thing.' Professor McGonagall was one of the teachers in Harry Potter who worked alongside the young wizard and Albus Dumbledore to defeat evil wizard Lord Voldemort. Meanwhile Dolores Umbridge was known for her harsh treatment of the children in JK Rowling's series. Anne has previously revealed there was also a more x-rated reason why she chose the moniker The Governess. When asked about the name by former Countdown host Nick Hewer, she replied: 'Well, originally I was going to be called The Headmistress and then during rehearsals, Bradley started calling me The Governess. 'I said to the producers, 'Can I be called that instead?' I think I said, 'It's more kinky'.'
