Sunderland in talks to sign Reinildo on a free transfer
Sunderland are actively pursuing a deal to sign Atletico Madrid defender Reinildo Mandava on a free transfer, according to The Guardian.
The deal would fill a key need for experienced defensive cover at left-back—or even centre-back—areas where Sunderland have identified gaps following their promotion.

Sunderland are working to secure the 31-year-old as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Reinildo is to join the free agent market when his current contract expires on June 30. Since joining Atletico in 2022, he has made over 100 appearances for the club.
Nottingham Forest and Leeds United are interested in landing the Mozambique international, while clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia are also reportedly keen on a deal.
However, Sunderland are frontrunners for his signature, with talks progressing between the parties over a two-year deal and weekly pay of £65,000.

A move to Wearside would see Reinildo become the first player from Mozambique to play in the Premier League.
His arrival would also be seen as a shrewd move, especially given he is available on a free transfer, allowing Sunderland to allocate resources elsewhere in what is set to a busy summer window.
Regis Le Bris's side are set to break their transfer record, having agreed an initial £31.25m deal to sign Habib Diarra from Strasbourg.
The Black Cats have contemplated bringing back Jordan Henderson for a second spell at the Stadium of Light, while they remain admirers of Marcin Bulka, although the Nice goalkeeper could be headed to the Middle East.

Manchester United target Dominic Calvert-Lewin takes to social media to confirm Everton exit
Manchester United-linked striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is leaving Everton on a free transfer. It is still early days in the summer but United have already faced many obstacles in their attempts to sign a new striker. Advertisement Liam Delap was considered the club's preferred option due to his age and affordable release clause, but the Englishman picked Chelsea. Viktor Gyokeres, meanwhile, is waiting for Arsenal and Victor Osimhen is likely to end up in Saudi Arabia due to his astronomical wage demands. However, considering only Everton scored fewer goals in the Premier League last season than United among all the non-relegated clubs, it would be very reckless to head into the new campaign without a new number nine. United's desperate need for a new goalscorer and their limited transfer budget have also led to the Red Devils being linked with a number of low-cost options, including Calvert-Lewin. Earlier this month, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have 'fully entered the battle' to sign the Englishman upon the expiration of his contract. Advertisement On Sunday, the 28-year-old announced he is leaving Everton this month as a free agent. The ex-Sheffield United man wrote on Instagram: 'After nine remarkable years at this club, I've made the incredibly difficult decision – together with my family – to begin a new chapter in my career.' David Moyes wanted to keep Calvert-Lewin in Merseyside but the parties failed to find an agreement over fresh terms. The England international has had a difficult last few years at Everton due to fitness issues. However, he is still supposedly admired at United, owing to his physicality and hold-up play. If United decide to allocate their funds to revamp other areas, Calvert-Lewin could prove to be a decent stop-gap solution. Follow us on Bluesky: @

Viktor Gyokeres 'has Arsenal change of heart' after Manchester United contact
Viktor Gyokeres has had a change of heart over joining Arsenal this summer, with Manchester United now in pole position to sign the Sporting striker. The striker is expected to leave Portugal this summer and is at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war between the two Premier League was reported earlier in June that Gyokeres had "officially" rejected United and a reunion with former Sporting head coach Ruben Amorim following Arsenal making their interest clear. Portuguese outlet Record claimed that United have been made aware of Gyokeres' decision to snub a move to Old Trafford after talks with the player's agents. Gyokeres was then said to have told friends and family that he will sign for Arsenal this summer, despite the Gunners being in talks with both Sporting and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko over summer deals, before making a decision on one. Standard Sport understands that Sporting are demanding at least €70million (£59.6m) to begin negotiations over a fee, and recent reports suggested that Arsenal were clear favourites to sign Gyokeres despite seeing an opening bid worth €55m (£47m) reportedly rejected. But The Mirror now claim that United are back in the frame, and seen by some as the most likely destination for Gyokeres despite being unable to offer Champions League football. Arsenal are currently wrapping up deals for Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga, for a combined £15million, and are expected to step up moves for a striker next week after the PSR deadline passes on June 30. The Gunners are said by some to favour Sesko, who could also prove a cheaper option with Sporting digging in their heels over an asking price for Gyokeres. That has reportedly led Gyokeres to reassess other options, of which United is the most prominent. The Mirror report that intermediaries have made contact on the player's behalf to inform United of his change of heart and that is ready to move to Old Trafford.

Thomas Partey to leave Arsenal at end of contract
Thomas Partey will leave Arsenal when his contract expires on Monday, with the club set to confirm the midfielder's exit early next week. The 32-year-old was in talks over extending his career at the Emirates Stadium but an agreement could not be reached on the terms of a deal. Although the likely outcome became clear in recent weeks, a final call has now been made. Advertisement In April, The Athletic reported that Arsenal and Partey were in talks over a renewal. He has been free to speak to overseas teams since January. Partey remained an important part of Mikel Arteta's side during 2024-25, accumulating 52 appearances in all competitions. Arsenal are reinforcing his area of the field this summer, with a deal for Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi regarded as done. The Athletic has reported Real Sociedad have expressed a preference for the move to be ratified at the start of July for accounting purposes. Arsenal are also in the process of finalising an agreement with Brentford to sign Christian Norgaard. Partey moved to Arsenal in October 2020 from Atletico Madrid after his €50million (now £42.7m; $57.3m) release clause was met and has made 167 appearances, scoring nine goals. Partey joined Atletico in 2012, before he had made his professional debut. He registered188 first-team appearances and scored 16 goals, winning the Europa League in 2018 and finishing as a runner-up in the Champions League in 2016. Jorginho, 33, was also out of contract at Arsenal this summer and left for Flamengo ahead of the Club World Cup earlier this month. ()
