‘Kichcha 47': Sudeep teams up again with Vijay Kartikeyaa after ‘Max'

The Hindu05-07-2025
Kannada superstar Sudeep has collaborated with Vijay Kartikeyaa for an action thriller. The actor-director duo first teamed up for the action drama Max in 2024. Tentatively titled Kichcha 47, the upcoming movie will be produced by Sathya Jyothi films, and presented by T G Thyagarajan.
The makers released a teaser to announce the project. In the video, Sudeep appears in a stylish avatar, smoking a cigarette. The movie will go on floors from July 07, 2025.
During a press conference to talk about the movie, Sudeep confirmed that Kichcha 47 isn't a sequel to Max. 'It's not Max 2. I thought we were forcing the idea of a sequel and that's not good. This will be a completely different movie. We have put the idea of Max 2 on the backburner.'
Ajaneesh Loknath will compose music for the movie. J Shivakumar is the art director while Sekhar Chandra has been roped in as the cinematographer. Kichcha 47 will be produced by Senthil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan.
Vijay Kartikeyaa debuted with the blockbuster Max. Released on December 25, 2025, the film revolved around inspector Arjun Mahakshay (played by Sudeep). A day before reporting for duty after a two-month suspension, he faces an unexpected situation to handle.

The Hindu review of the film said, 'Max is a celebration of Sudeep, who oozes style in his aggressive portrayal of an all-conquering officer. If you saw him as a subdued yet classy cop carrying a deep pain within him in Vikrant Rona (2022), Sudeep cuts loose in Max to cater to his fans, who were hungry for 'mass' moments involving their favourite star.'
Meanwhile, Sudeep has also teamed up again with Anup Bhandari for Billa Ranga Baasha. The actor-director duo is back after the investigative action thriller Vikrant Rona (2022). Billa Ranga Baasha, billed as a futuristic action drama, is produced by Primeshow Entertainment, the banner behind the hit Telugu superhero movie HanuMan.
