2025 NFC West center rankings: Cardinals' Hjalte Froholdt leads the way
We are in the final stretch of the NFL offseason as the Arizona Cardinals open training camp on July 22. Leading up to then, as we have for several offseasons, go through the players and position groups in the NFC West and rank them.
Next up, we look at the centers for the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks and rank them.
1. Hjalte Froholdt, Arizona Cardinals
Froholdt, entering his third season as the Cardinals' starting center, has been one of the most underrated finds for general manager Monti Ossenfort. PFF has him as a top-10 center in the NFL. He is in his prime and enters the first year of the two-year extension he agreed to last year.
2. Jake Brendel, San Francisco 49ers
Brendel has been solid for the 49ers, but he will turn 33 years old in Week 2. At one point, he was the best center in the division. Now he is still pretty solid.
3. Coleman Shelton, Los Angeles Rams
Shelton is back with the Rams as their starting center after letting him go last year. He is a capable starter but the Rams were good with replacing him, only to find he was the better option. This will be his fourth year as an NFL starter. Little known fact is that he spent time on the Cardinals' practice squad in 2018.
4. Olu Oluwatimi, Seattle Seahawks
Oluwatimi struggled last year, getting thrust into the starting lineup as a rookie after offseason addition Connor Williams abruptly decided to retire. He hasn't proven yet he is a capable starter in the league. As a second-year player, he still can prove it.

Travis Kelce in Disbelief That Taylor Swift Picked Him, Says ‘Source'
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have never failed to swoon their fans with their love for each other. According to a source, the NFL player is still in disbelief that the singer has picked him as her partner. Recently, he made it evident when an onlooker stated that he has 'the best girlfriend,' with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end agreeing while blushing. The power couple has been dating since 2023 and has not shied away from flaunting their PDA-filled moments to the world. Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been gaining attention because of their public appearances for quite some time now. Even when they are not together, people love bringing up their partners. In one such incident, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end became the center of attention at the American Century Championship in Nevada. A video shared on X (formerly Twitter) showed Kelce golfing, surrounded by a group. An individual who was recording the clip exclaimed, 'You have the best girlfriend in the world!' The NFL star seemingly blushed and responded, 'Good point,' making the crowd laugh. Referring to this occurrence, a source close to the couple told Rob Shuter, 'He still acts like he can't believe she picked him. And she loves that.' Last month, the couple made heads turn with their first red carpet appearance at the Tight End University (TEU) summit in Nashville. Swift accompanied her boyfriend and had a blast with his acquaintances. She surprised the people present at the event with a concert alongside Kane Brown and also danced intimately with her beau. Their dance videos to the pop star's hit songs at the Nashville event went viral online. Tom Brady reportedly said no to Las Vegas Raiders adding this Pro Bowl QB
After three consecutive seasons of missing the playoffs, the Las Vegas Raiders set out to make massive changes this offseason. Some of those have included hiring a new head coach and general manager, who came together to add a new franchise quarterback, Geno Smith. While the Raiders did manage to add a two-time Pro Bowl quarterback, there were other Pro Bowl options linked to Las Vegas. Some of those include Matthew Stafford, Aaron Rodgers, and Sam Darnold. Advertisement Unlike Smith and Stafford, Rodgers and Darnold were both free agents, meaning they should have been the easiest to acquire, considering the Raiders wouldn't have had to part with any trade compensation to make a change. Yet, according to The Athletic's Mike Silver, Raiders minority owner Tom Brady actually didn't want the Raiders to sign Darnold, or Rodgers, for that matter. 'The Seahawks' pursuit of Darnold snuck up on many NFL observers and proceeded in rapid-fire fashion. While some believed the Las Vegas Raiders would try to sign Darnold, minority owner Tom Brady — a seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback whose opinion held great sway — was not in favor of that approach, according to a source familiar with the franchise's internal discussions.' The Athletic on Tom Brady/Las Vegas Raiders Darnold eventually signed a three-year, $100.5 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks. Meanwhile, the Raiders traded a third-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft for Smith, then signed the 34-year-old to a two-year, $75 million contract. While Darnold, 28, offers more long-term potential, Brady and the Raiders evidently felt like they'd rather spend a third-round pick to trade for Smith, who's six years older instead. Interestingly enough, the Raiders are also set to pay Smith roughly $4.5 million more per season. Advertisement Related: 2025 NFL QB Rankings: Who's No. 1 after the NFL Draft? Related Headlines

Teddy Bridgewater Suspended From HS Coaching Gig
Last year, former NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was generating headlines without even playing. But that's because he took a job as a coach instead. Bridgewater's foray into coaching went swimmingly, as he led Miami Northwestern to a 3A state title. However, now we're learning his role came with some drawbacks too. Advertisement According to Bridgewater himself, he was apparently suspended by Miami Northwestern High School after he reportedly paid for his athletes' Uber rides along with other 'impermissible benefits.' Those benefits included physical therapy, recovery help, pregame meals, field paint, and more. While this story may have flown under the radar, Bridgewater made it all very public by making a Facebook post about the whole scenario. 'The suspension came from MNW and it's impossible to suspend someone who doesn't work for you. So if [I'm] suspended from MNW [I'm] free to go to another school of my choice but [I'm] NOT GOING ANYWHERE. And if it comes down to it, I will volunteer from the bleachers like I used to in 2018 and 2019 when no one had a problem.'' Teddy Bridgewater Bridgewater was apparently working on a volunteer basis, not as an actual employee of the school. That's where some of the confusion came in. Either way, as he stated, Bridgewater won't be backing down. If anything, he seems to be even further committed to helping MNW, even if it's not from their own sideline. Advertisement Bridgewater previously announced his retirement from the NFL after the 2023 season, but later returned in 2024 for the Detroit Lions. He remains unsigned this offseason, and it remains to be seen whether the former first-round pick is officially done with the NFL or not. Still just 32 years old, he presumably would still be able to land a roster spot with ease. Related: 5 best Jauan Jennings trade landing spots before training camp Related Headlines
