Inter Milan are eyeing up a move for Lazio midfielder Nicolo Rovella.
The 23-year-old is a player who the Nerazzurri see as an ideal replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu.
It is still uncertain whether Calhanoglu will stay or go. However, the strong interest from Galatasaray means that the Nerazzurri are bracing themselves for the possibility of having to replace him.
And Rovella is a player who would offer a strong like-for-like replacement. Therefore, he would reportedly be the priority target in the event that Calhanoglu departs.

SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla reports that 'Inter have seriously inquired about Nicolo Rovella.'

'It happened within the last 24 hours. We don't know if they were just sounding out a movie in case of big offers for Calhanoglu.'
'The fact is that Inter put an offer on the table of around €35 million,' Pedulla reports. 'Plus a loan with a purchase option of Asllani, which could become an obligation under certain conditions.'
Pedulla anticipates that Inter are 'sounding out Lazio, which at the moment can't do anything in the transfer market.'
'After this weekend they'll meet with Sarri,' he adds.
'Lazio have rejected the advance from Inter. We recall that Rovella has a release clause of €50 million. And it would be necessary to pay it, after getting the yes from the midfielder.'
'Those two steps have not occurred,' Pedulla adds.
However, 'the position of Lazio remains critical, to put it euphemistically.'
