Plot of the film
'My Hero' is set against the colorful backdrop of Maheshwar, a town that becomes the stage for an unlikely friendship between a young Dalit boy and an American tourist, played by Eric Roberts. The story unfolds as both characters face personal hardships, the boy struggles with the pain of being ostracized from his village in Chikamagaluru for touching a sacred idol, an act forbidden due to his caste, while the American is mourning the loss of his grandson.
Their paths cross during this difficult time, and a bond forms between them. Touched by the boy's story and the injustice he faces, the American decides to stand by him. Together, they return to the boy's village, where the visitor's compassionate yet bold approach challenges the deep-rooted caste discrimination that has long divided the community. Mandals can register till July 31 for Khasdar Sanskritik Ganesh Utsav
1 2 Nagpur: What started as a small cultural experiment in 2021 has now turned into one of Nagpur's most successful community-driven initiatives that blends devotional celebration with rich cultural expression. The Khasdar Sanskritik Mahotsav Samiti has appealed to Ganesh mandals across Nagpur to register for the Sanskritik Ganesh Utsav. In its fourth year, the Sanskritik Ganesh Utsav has grown exponentially — from just 55 mandals and 350 artists in 2021 to over 300 mandals and 2,000 artists participating in 2024. Ganesh mandals have been asked to register by July 31, while cultural groups and artists will register by August 5. Registration can be done by visiting Nitin Gadkari's Public Relations Office, at Savarkar Nagar, opposite Orange City Hospital, Khamla Chowk between 12 noon and 3pm. "Earlier, many Ganeshotsav celebrations were mere pomp and show. This year, the organising committee led by Anil Sole (president), along with key members Gauri Shankar Parashar, Ashok Mankar, Dilip Jadhav, Rajesh Bagdi, Balasaheb Kulkarni, Sanjay Gulkari, and others, aims to take the movement to further. New Delhi [India], July 26 (ANI): Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is known for leading a disciplined lifestyle, which mainly includes hitting the bed early and waking up at 4 am in the morning. However, sometimes, due to work commitments, his "early sleep and wake-up routine" gets hampered. Friday night was one of those rare days when Khiladi Kumar stayed up late. He had no qualms about it as he was in his hometown, Delhi, for ace designers Falguni Shane Peacock's special show at India Couture Week 2025. After walking the ramp for the designers, Akshay briefly spoke with media around 11 pm on Friday night, joking about closing the show past his usual bedtime. "Well, thank you very much. Main Hindi mein bolunga. Aap sabhi logo ka bhaut bhaut dhanyawad, jitne bhi yahan log aaye, aur media. (Looking at his watch) Kaafi late nahi ho gaya hai?" Akshay also lauded designers, models and the entire team for their relentless efforts that go behind conducting one show. He added, "I have enjoyed each and every bit of it. Specially, maine dekha hai ki kitna hard-work jaata hai ek show karne ke liye, organise karne ke liye aur 25 minute ke andar poora ka poora khatam ho jaata hai. But, I just want to tell you that Shane and Falguni, the way they present themselves in such an international way, I think they have made India so proud."
