Rapper Young Scooter's death ruled accidental; woman arrested over 911 call
Police on Tuesday arrested a woman accused of making a false 911 call before last week's death of Atlanta rapper Young Scooter, whose death has been ruled accidental in a newly released autopsy.
The Atlanta Police Department said Demetria Spence, 31, was charged Tuesday with transmitting a false public alarm. The false call was allegedly made to authorities before the March 28 death of Kenneth Bailey, also known by his stage name of Young Scooter, a Southern rap figure who has collaborated with Future.
Police said Spence had been wanted for allegedly making a false 911 call about an injured person just prior to Bailey's death, which took place outside a house about 5 miles south of downtown Atlanta.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office said an autopsy revealed Bailey died after suffering "a penetrating injury" to his right thigh after jumping at least one fence and coming into contact with "fencing material and/or woody debris" outside the home on Friday.
Fulton County Sheriff's Office records show Spence was taken into custody on Tuesday and remained at the Fulton County Jail on Wednesday. It was not immediately known whether she had obtained an attorney in the case.

In a press conference Friday, police homicide commander Lt. Andrew Smith told reporters officers responded to a report of a dispute potentially involving a weapon on Friday, which was Young Scooter's 39th birthday. Smith added that initial reports indicated shots were fired.
In the initial 911 call, a person, later identified by police as Spence, said a woman "was bleeding profusely, particularly from her head, and that a child may have been present during the incident."
"She has a baby," the caller said. "This situation is really serious, and he's punching her. If you guys don't get here, she's going to be really hurt."
The caller reported hearing gunshots.

At the scene, responding officers knocked on the door before a male opened it and immediately shut it, Smith said. As police set up a perimeter around the home, two people ran from the rear of the home.
Smith said one of the runners, a male who police have not identified, returned back into the house. The other, later identified as Bailey, jumped two fences. Officers found Bailey on the other side of the fence suffering from what appeared to be "an injury to his leg."
Bailey was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Smith said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office said officials performed an autopsy Saturday, which revealed Bailey died after suffering "a penetrating injury" to his upper leg.
His manner of death was ruled an accident.
"Mr. Bailey sustained a penetrating injury of his right thigh that created marked blood loss," officials wrote in the report. "This injury was not a gunshot wound. Mr. Bailey injured himself on organic (wooden) fencing material and/or woody debris after vaulting at least one fence."
In a statement on the police department's website, officials wrote the agency was "aware of inaccurate comments and social media posts" regarding Bailey's death.
"While we understand that many people are saddened by his passing, it is important to recognize that Atlanta police officers neither discharged their firearms nor used any force against Mr. Bailey," the department wrote.

The Young and the Restless: is Damian really dead?
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Just like that, another character from The Young and the Restless was allegedly murdered. In the episode airing on July 14, Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was not only poisoned, but he was also stabbed. When the episode picks up on July 15, Cane (Billy Flynn) insists to Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) that Damian is dead and there is no sense in trying to get him medical attention. Additionally, Cane takes Chance (Conner Floyd) to see the dead body and asks the Genoa City cop to lead a murder investigation in France to determine who the murderer is (again, not sure how Chance has jurisdiction to do anything official in Europe, but we digress). Furthermore, Cane's assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba), and another one of Cane's staffers move Damian's body with a sheet over it. Placing the metaphorical nail in this Damian coffin is the fact that Rivers himself took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the character was indeed gone. Even with all of that being said, we still believe there's a chance that Damian isn't dead and will be back at some point. First, there's something about the way in which this murder went down that doesn't sit right with us. It started out as a one-on-one conversation between Damian and Cane over a bottle of liquor. Damian outpaced Cane in drinking from his glass and immediately fell ill due to a poison. Cane claimed to be fine initially, but began feeling ill right before Damian got worse and was eventually stabbed by some mystery person. Then, again in the episode on July 15, after Cane walks away to grab Chance and bring him to the scene of the crime, the bottle containing the poison disappears, along with the murder weapon. Also, Cane is insistent that Chance not bring local authorities to help with the investigation and doesn't want the coroner called, but would rather like Damian's body stashed in a freezer on the property. Our theory here is that Cane orchestrated this whole ordeal with Carter's help in a big scheme to win back Lily (Christel Khalil). Cane desperately wants to reunite with his ex, and Damian stood in the way of that. Since we don't believe he's a cold-blooded murderer, we think it's possible he faked Damian's death with Carter's help, and will actually wind up hiding Damian somewhere, keeping him prisoner. Let's also not forget that Cane drank the poisoned drink suspiciously slow, as if he knew it was deadly and knew how much to digest to give the appearance of him being sick. Therefore, also making him a "victim" in this scenario. On another note, going back to Rivers' statement. If you watch the clip, you'll notice he says, 'Yeah, that's what it is, at least for now." To us, that sounds like he's leaving room for the possibility that he's not done portraying Damian, but rather just done for the time being. Lastly, from a storyline perspective, Damian dying prematurely stunts the storylines with Nate (Sean Dominic) and Lily, in our opinion. It would be nice to see Damian's relationship with his newly-found brother continue to develop and his romance with Lily continue to blossom. So will Damian make a soapy return from the dead soon? The Young and the Restless spoilers: Nick becomes the new Victor thanks to Cane?

And just like that on The Young and the Restless, suspicion for Damian's (Jermaine Rivers) murder is starting to shift a bit toward Nick (Joshua Morrow). Despite Cane (Billy Flynn) being the only one spotted with Damian's dead body and Cane having a pretty solid motive for wanting Damian dead, in the episode airing on July 16, Nick was stunned to find the murder weapon in his sleeping car on the train. As the episode picked up on July 17, Nick informed Chance (Conner Floyd) of the planted piece of evidence and pointed the finger at Cane for being behind the shady move. Even as Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), who was standing nearby, and Chance doubted that Cane went through the trouble of setting up Nick, the Newman heir was convinced that Cane or Cane's assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba), is trying to frame him for a homicide. Furthermore, Nick points to all the secrecy behind Cane and Aristotle Dumas as proof that Cane may not be this innocent bystander. When Nick later passes along updates about all that's happened to Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), the patriarch and matriarch of the Newman clan are stunned. Interestingly enough, though, Victor agrees Nick is being set up but doubts Cane is behind it. The Mustache can't buy that a man who was so careful to craft a new identity and plot against Genoa City power players in the last six years would be so reckless as to commit murder. Nick, however, maintains his theory, and carrying the momentum of outrage with him, he runs into Cane. Nick and Cane do a lot of posturing and hurl accusations at each other. But it's Nick's words that stood out to us most. He informed Cane, "I don't know what game you're playing, but trust me, you will lose. You came after the wrong guy and family. But from now on, you come at me man to man, you hear me?" As if those words from Nick weren't ominous already, he finishes off his rant telling Cane, "But trust me, you're gonna wish you were the one who was dead." With all that being said, we once speculated that although Victor continues to show he's as cunning as ever, that one of his children would start to really emerge as his true successor in ruthlessness and chaos. While we suggested there was a good chance this person could be Adam (Mark Grossman), we ultimately settled on Victoria (Amelia Heinle). We suspected that in the wake of Cole's (J. Eddie Peck) death, something would unlock inside of her that made it clear who her father is. Now we bypassed Nick in the discussion, largely because he's traditionally spent his time in Genoa City being the 'good guy,' trying to do whatever he could to prove he was a more upstanding guy than his father. Plus, Nick has a hot temper, which doesn't necessarily bode well if you're trying to be a masterful tactician like the Newman Enterprises founder. However, is Nick about to prove us wrong? Is he about to show everyone, especially Cane, that a "new Victor" is waiting in the wings? We have to say, Nick's final words for Cane in the episode from July 17 certainly sent chills down our spines, as they could have come out of Victor's mouth years ago in his feuding with Jack (Peter Bergman), Ian (Ray Wise), Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and the list goes on. Additionally, with Victor and Nick closer than ever these days, it's not hard to imagine Victor providing some close guidance to his son to help him keep his temper in check and to methodically think through a mental game of chess with Cane. On a final note, we have a hunch that both Nick and Cane will find themselves cleared of murder charges eventually, and that their real showdown could be in Genoa City as they take their battle to the corporate world. Russian Drones Attack Historic City Center of Ukraine's Odesa
A Russian airstrike using drones hit the southern Ukrainian city of Odesa overnight, causing fires to break out in the city's UNESCO-listed historic center. The attack injured four people in the city, according to Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper. The drones caused a fire at the iconic Pryvoz market, one of the city's main landmarks, also damaging an apartment block, office building and gas station, Kiper said in a post on Telegram.
