Singer Sonu Nigam warns of fake accounts on X, asks followers to report and block

Playback singer Sonu Nigam issued a warning to his followers about online impersonators and fake accounts in his name on X. The singer stated that he found many impersonators misusing his name to reach out to people. He cautioned people about such accounts and asked them to report and block the pages.Nigam also added that he has not been on X for several years and thanked people for flagging the matter to him. "It has come to my attention that someone has been misusing my identity online (Sic)," his message read on Instagram.advertisementHis statement also read, "Please note that no one from my team has ever reached out to anyone on my behalf for any reason. If someone claims to be from my management & contacts you out of the blue, please treat it with caution! (sic)."
Sonu Nigam also cleared the air about many fake accounts on X. "I have NOT been on Twitter/X for the last 8 years. A few accounts that people may believe to be mine, are actually being run by someone else, often posting controversial things under my name," he wrote.The singer asked his followers to 'report and block' such accounts. "Thank you to those who've flagged the issue to me. And thank you so much my extended family for your continued support and understanding (sic)," he concluded his statement.Of late, many social media accounts of celebrities have been hacked and misused for carrying out cryptocurrency scams. A few weeks ago, singer Shreya Ghoshal's account was hacked. Later, she retrieved her account after getting in touch with the support team. Similarly, actors Khushbu, Lakshmi Manchu and several accounts have fallen prey to hacking in the past few months.Must Watch
