Following a decade in the entertainment industry and several personal challenges, internationally acclaimed English singer and songwriter Calum Scott insists that he has never felt better.
'I am probably happier than I have ever been,' he explained during an interview with 'Independent Media Lifestyle.'
'I've never been more content in both my personal life and my professional life. I feel like I believe in myself more than I ever have, and I am in a really good place in my life.'
With his increased positivity, the 'You Are The Reason' hitmaker is thrilled to be bringing his 'The Avenoir Tour' to South Africa early next year.
The former 'Britain's Got Talent' star will be performing in Cape Town on January 14, before making his way to Durban two days later and then ending his Mzansi tour in Joburg on January 17.
The Brit Awards-nominated artist is no stranger to South Africa, having previously toured the country several times before, including in 2018, then in 2022 and 2023.

'I love South Africa, she has been a kind mistress to me,' the 36-year-old said.
He added: 'South Africa is very special and for me to be so far away from home and to have so many people support my music, that love what I do and have used my music for certain parts of their lives, its an honour so I have maintained that I will be the kind of artist that comes and pays my respect back so if the least i can do is perform in South Africa for an hour and half and that's exactly what I will do.'

He explained that he has had some eventful experiences during his previous visits to the country.
'I had come back to South Africa not long after Covid, and we were performing at a Botanical Garden. I don't think that they had reset the sprinkler system correctly, so midway through the show, the sprinklers came on and everybody got drenched.
"Then it rained, and then there was load shedding, so it turned everything off.'
'It was all going off, but it was one of my most memorable performances because even with the chaos, the crowd was so into it still, which shows the tenacity and passion of my fans in South Africa.'
Scott is also excited to be performing brand-new music when he visits the nation, including from his third studio album, called ' Avenoir', which is also the name of his tour and is due to be released in September.
He explained that he title is inspired by a book he read and that it is 'a challenge to live in the present and to enjoy every day as it comes, to be blessed and to count your blessings.'
'That's the challenge that I want to put back on my fans, not worry too much about the past and future and to enjoy every moment because life is very short.'
Scott also explained this album is different to anything else he has worked on during his decade-long career so far.
'This album feels very intentional, and it feels like I am evolving as an artist and as a person in confidence, happiness and in my creativity, and I am very excited to see what the fans make of it.'
'There is something for everyone on this album, and when I was writing it, as always, I took inspiration from things that happened to me, things that happened to people close to me, so there are quite a lot of personal elements to it.'
'Avenoir' also includes the powerful love song 'Die For You', which was released on Friday, May 23.
'With his single, I wanted to return to that heart-wrenching emotional ballad which represents who I am and the kind of music I like to perform.'
Scott added, 'It is a declaration of love, and it is so poetic. With a title like that, what I am trying to get across in that song is like if I could reach into my chest and give you my heart, that's what I would do.'
'I am excited for the journey the song is going to go on and even beyond couples because it is also for friendship for people's kids or anything that they feel that passionate about.'
As Scott prepares to visit South Africa, he explained that apart from his many achievements over the past 10 years, being able to tour is one of his greatest accomplishments.
'I have had some amazing success in my life, I have been nominated for Awards several times, I have three songs over a billions streams each on Spotify, 'You the Reason' has over a billion views on YouTube and I have achieved some amazing accolades which I am very grateful for but I don't think that there is anything better than seeing people in the flesh and witnessing the impact that your music and your artistry has on people.'
'It is quite profound and magical.'

Superstar Tyla surprises Mollwane Madiba at matric dance

Grammy Award-winning singer Tyla made a surprise appearance at Mollwane Madiba's matric dance, turning the event into a night no one will soon forget. Madiba, a Grade 12 learner, had launched a viral campaign months ago, inviting Tyla to be his date for the big night. Many doubted she would show up. Even Madiba himself admitted, 'I honestly thought it was a long shot. But I had to try. Tyla is an inspiration to us all.' The 5FM team, who had been supporting Madiba's campaign, presented him with a life-size cardboard cutout of Tyla, dressed in her iconic Jacquemus Met Gala look, according to IOL. Laughter filled the suite as Madiba posed with the cutout, saying, 'I guess this is as close as I'll get!' But the real magic was yet to come. As the night unfolded, Tyla herself walked in, holding Madiba's arm. Dressed in a sleek black gown, she instantly became the centre of attention. The crowd erupted. Phones flashed. Videos and photos flooded Instagram and TikTok within minutes. 'It was unreal,' said one student. 'We all screamed. No one could believe it was her.' The singer presence electrified the room. She joined Madiba on the dance floor, moving to her chart-topping hits. Students sang along, their voices echoing through the hall. Tyla later said, 'I couldn't miss this. Mollwane's determination touched me. South African youth have so much spirit.' The hashtag #moandtylaformd quickly trended on South African social media. Madiba's accounts exploded with messages of support and congratulations. 'You did it, bro!' read one comment. Another fan wrote, 'Tyla, you made history tonight!' The event was a celebration of dreams, community, and the power of social media. Tyla's appearance lifted everyone's spirits and gave Madiba a night he'll never forget. 'This is the best night of my life,' Madiba said, beaming. 'Tyla, thank you for making my dream come true.' Sabrina Carpenter stuns in Dior at Paris Fashion Week

Sabrina Carpenter surprised fans with a fresh look at the Dior Homme Menswear show during Paris Fashion Week. The 26-year-old singer ditched her usual daring style for a chic, grey pleated skirt suit. She wore a fitted grey blazer, cinched at the waist, paired with a knee-length skirt. Her outfit was a sharp contrast to the bold stage costumes fans have seen her wear at global events. Sabrina Carpenter completed her look with nude peep-toe heels. She kept her blonde hair off her face with a simple black hair slide, according to Daily Mail. The Espresso hitmaker greeted fans with a smile as she arrived to see Dior's Spring-Summer 2026 collection. 'I wanted something elegant and timeless for today,' Carpenter said to reporters. 'It's fun to surprise people sometimes.' Rihanna, who is expecting her third child, arrived with A$AP Rocky. Donatella Versace, Daniel Craig, and Robert Pattinson also attended. But Carpenter's look stood out for its understated grace. 'I love how Sabrina switched it up,' one fan commented. 'She looked so classy.' Sabrina Carpenter's appearance comes just after controversy over her new album cover for Man's Best Friend . The original cover, which showed her on all fours with a faceless man tugging her hair, drew criticism from some fans and a domestic violence charity. In response, Sabrina Carpenter released an alternative, black-and-white cover. In it, she poses in a retro gown, holding a man. 'This new cover is approved by God,' Carpenter joked on social media. Fans reacted with humour and support. 'Approved by the big guy himself, love that!' wrote one follower. Another added, 'You look divine in every one!' Despite the backlash, Sabrina Carpenter kept both covers. The new image features on the cassette version, while the original remains on the CD. Both options are available for fans worldwide, including South Africa. The album is priced at around R400 for the standard edition and R450 for the special cassette version, making it accessible to local fans. Sabrina Carpenter's ability to adapt and respond to criticism resonates with audiences everywhere. As one South African fan put it, 'She's not afraid to be herself, and that's inspiring.' With her latest Paris appearance, Carpenter proves she can set trends both on stage and on the red carpet. South African fans can expect more surprises from this rising star.
