Eidul Azha on June 7
According to the announcement, the first day of Zil Hajj will fall on Thursday, May 29, 2025, while Eidul Azha will be observed on Saturday, June 7.
The meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Islamabad for sighting of the Zil Hajj moon 1446 Hijri.
Moreover, the Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees meetings were also held separately at their respective headquarters to see the Eidul Azha moon.
Meanwhile, religious scholar Mufti Ramzan Sialvi confirmed that moon was not sighted in Lahore, adding that the final announcement regarding moon sighting would be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Similarly, zonal committee sources in Karachi said that no testimony of moon sighting was received from any part of Sindh.

Pakistani students are increasingly exploring other study-abroad markets, especially those with simpler visa processes and post-study work options. The recent depreciation of the rupee against the US dollar is also likely to nudge students elsewhere. The recent disruptions have already nudged many toward Canada, Australia, the UK, and even Germany, or Türkiye. Families are also edging towards the Middle East, due to its proximity and the proliferation in quality higher education institutions.

Air chief concludes historic visit to US
ISLAMABAD: Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), has concluded a historic visit to the United States — the first by a serving PAF Chief in over a decade - in a major breakthrough for Pakistan-US defence cooperation. According to the military's media wing, the high-level engagements marked a significant step in deepening institutional ties, advancing mutual defence interests, and addressing key regional and global security concerns. During the official visit, Air Chief Marshal Sidhu held a series of high-level meetings with senior US military and political leadership. At the Pentagon, he met Kelli L Seybolt, Secretary of the Air Force (International Affairs), and General David W Allvin, Chief of Staff of the US Air Force. Discussions focused on enhancing military-to-military cooperation, boosting interoperability, and exploring avenues for joint training and technology exchange. The Air Chief emphasised the long-standing and multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and the United States, especially in defence and security domains. He reaffirmed his commitment to expanding training partnerships and collaborative engagements between the air forces of both nations. The two sides also agreed to maintain the momentum of high-level military engagements to support joint exercises and exchange programmes.
