Britney Spears Did Not Actually Adopt a ‘Beautiful Baby Girl,' Despite Her Claims

Yahoo15-07-2025
Britney Spears did not adopt a child, contrary to what the pop superstar recently said on Instagram.
In a post shared to her Instagram on Saturday (July 12), Spears claimed that she had 'adopted a beautiful baby girl.'

'Her name is Lennon London Spears,' the singer added at the time, captioning a video of herself dancing in a pink leotard and wide-brimmed hat. 'Lennon today has on adorable dress !!! It says I'm NEW HERE !!!'
Billboard, however, has since confirmed that Spears did not actually welcome a new child through adoption. She may have just been trolling fans all along, having peppered her caption with winky-face emojis.
The musician is already a mother to two boys, sharing 20-year-old Sean and 18-year-old Jayden with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Her post comes a couple weeks after she shared a mirror selfie with Jayden, who looked all grown up while towering over his famous mother.
Though Spears and her kids had for years been largely separated from each other following Federline's move with the boys to Hawaii, she and her youngest have been spending more time together ever since reuniting last Christmas.
'He is 6'3 and his hands are so big now !!!' Spears wrote of Jayden on Instagram in June. 'How long am I going to be in shock ??? It's so incredibly crazy, it's not even funny !!! I'm blessed !!! Just please be careful with my heart too !!!'
And while Spears' claim that she'd become an adoptive mother was surprising, it's not the first time she's said something on social media that turned out to be untrue. Last December, she told followers that she was moving to Mexico to escape 'cruel' paparazzi and even said that she was in the process of 'house hunting' there; however, The Hollywood Reporter later confirmed that she wasn't actually leaving her home in the United States.
Months later, it looks like Spears might again be trolling fans about moving. In her post about adopting 'Lennon,' the performer also claimed, 'I've decided to move to Italy' — a statement she also punctuated with a few winky-face emojis.

Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn's Apple Series Has a Title and a Premiere Date

Nearly three years after it was first announced, and following a few vague teasers from the principals over that time, some concrete details about the Apple TV+ series created by Vince Gilligan and starring Rhea Seehorn are finally available. Well, a couple, at least. More from The Hollywood Reporter Jessica Chastain-Led Thriller 'The Savant' Gets Date, First Look From Apple TV+ 'Ted Lasso' Kicks Back Into Gear With Key Returnees, New Cast for Season 4 Apple's Matt Cherniss on Record Emmy Haul and 'Studio' Breakthrough: "Great All the Way Around" For starters, the series — marking a reunion between the Better Call Saul co-creator and star — has a title, Pluribus (the 'many' part of the unofficial U.S. motto 'E pluribus unum,' or 'From many, one') and a premiere date, Nov. 7. Apple TV+ also released the first photo of Seehorn from the series, which is at the top of this story. As for what Pluribus is about? That's murkier. The show's logline describes it as 'a genre-bending original in which the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.' Cryptic social media posts from Apple earlier in the week read, 'Happiness is contagious,' while a brief teaser released with the premiere date (watch it below) offers a deeply unsettling vibe but no insight. What is known: Pluribus comes from Sony PIctures TV, Gilligan's long-time studio home and the producer of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Apple TV+ won a bidding war for the series in 2022 with a two-season order. Gilligan has said he wrote the show for Seehorn, who in turn has described it as 'a wild ride.' 'He's vacillating between tones and between genres like he and Peter Gould did on Better Call Saul, but it's even more pronounced now,' she told The Hollywood Reporter last year. '… It is a very challenging role and a very challenging show in the best way. It's everything that an actor would want.' Gilligan has also said that, unlike the antiheroic centers of Breaking Bad and Saul, Seehorn's character in Pluribus is more of a hero (albeit a flawed one). Accepting an award from the Writers Guild of America in February, he called on his fellow scribes to leave villain stories behind: 'As a writer, speaking to a room full of writers, I have a proposal; it certainly won't fix everything, but I think it's a start. I say we write more good guys. For decades we made the villains too sexy [and] viewers everywhere, all around the world, pay attention. They say, 'Here's this badass, I want to be that cool.' When that happens, fictional bad guys stop being the precautionary tales they were intended to be. God help us, they've become aspirational.' Along with Seehorn, the cast includes Karolina Wydra and Carlos-Manuel Vesga. Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte are guest stars. As for the rest, we'll find out in November. Gilligan executive produces Pluribus with Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski and Jeff Frost. Jenn Carroll and Trina Siopy are co-EPs. Smith, Tatlock, Mercer, Carroll and Siopy all worked with Gilligan on Breaking Bad and/or Better Call Saul. CNN Guest Goes Viral After Live Backflip Ends In A Face Plant: 'Yes, You Have Permission To Laugh'

A CNN guest ended up needing stitches after a backflip fail live on CNN News Central. Bolduan could be heard exclaiming, 'Oh Jesus,' as Cruz attempted the flip. When the camera cut back to her, the presenter was clasping her hands over her mouth. 'What you just saw there is a brand new twist on America's favorite pastime,' Berman said. Luckily, Cruz was ok. In an Instagram post, which included a backstage video of the stunt gone wrong, the Savannah Bananas star said: 'The sound makes it 10x funnier. Yes, you have my permission to laugh. Yes, I'm all good. Some stitches, slightly damaged pride, and some unparalleled dad lore.' In a separate video reflecting on the fail, Cruz explained that he was running low on sleep before performing the stunt, and the bright light of the studio set meant that he lost his bearings in mid-air. 'I was pretty confused. My mic pack fell out of my pocket, my shoe flew off of my foot. I don't even know how that happened. I feel bad for the news anchors because they just sat there like, Ok, we're not supposed to laugh, but oh my gosh, that was funny,' Cruz observed. 'They just had to carry on.' Cruz said he was unable to take part in an interview because he was covered in blood from splitting his lip and chin. The video contained a photo of Cruz receiving medical attention, which he said included 'several stitches.' 'Thank God, aside from my damaged pride, I didn't sustain any significant injuries,' he said. 'Supergirl': Everything you need to know about the DCU's upcoming movie

The revamped DC Universe (DCU) is off to a soaring start, with James Gunn's "Superman" surpassing $400 million at the box office. It also folded an important new hero into the mix, 'House of the Dragon' and 'Sirens' star Milly Alcock as Supergirl, who is set to get her own standalone movie next year. And the origin story for the Man of Steel's hot-headed cousin looks to be just as chaotic as her cameo. This reboot promises to introduce a bolder, edgier tone to the new DC Universe—so here's everything you need to know about "Supergirl." When is 'Supergirl's' release date? "Supergirl" is scheduled to launch in theaters worldwide on June 26, 2025. That means Supergirl will officially soar into the DCU nearly a year after James Gunn's "Superman" hit theaters. While he's not directing the film, Gunn confirmed that principal photography for the project wrapped in May, so post-production should be in full swing by this point. So while delays aren't impossible, there's every reason to believe Supergirl's first standalone venture in the DCU will hit its scheduled release date. What will 'Supergirl' be about? Potential spoilers for "Supergirl" below. The "Supergirl" movie is based 2021's 'Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,' an eight-issue comic book miniseries written by Tom King and illustrated by Bilquis Evely. Initially, the movie retained the comic's "Woman of Tomorrow" subtitle before Gunn confirmed in June it was shortened to simply "Supergirl." This epic, space-faring adventure leans more toward the cosmic vibe of Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" than the character-driven storytelling we saw in "Superman." That tonal difference should help set it apart from the Man of Steel's first outing in the revamped DCU. The movie doesn't have an official synopsis yet, but in the comics, the story centers on a jaded Kara Zor-El (aka Supergirl) who finds herself at a crossroads. Struggling with a sense of purposelessness, she feels adrift now that her younger cousin, Kal-El (Superman), can fight his own battles and no longer needs her protection. Just as she's on the verge of walking away from it all, a young alien warrior named Ruthye Marye Knoll pulls her into a revenge quest. As she sets out to track down Krem, who killed Ruthye's father and destroyed her home, it soon becomes a race to save Krypto's life after he's critically injured in a fight. "We will see the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl, raised on a rock, a chip off of Krypton, and who watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life and then come to Earth," Gunn said in a 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "She is much more hardcore and not the Supergirl we're used to." Who is in the 'Supergirl' cast? So far, only a few actors have been confirmed for "Supergirl." As we said before, Milly Alcock is starring as the titular superhero Kara Zor-El. The movie will feature "3 Body Problem" star Eve Ridley as Ruthye, Matthias Schoenaerts as the villainous Krem of the Yellow Hills, and Jason Momoa in a small role as DC anti-hero Lobo. Lobo, who doesn't appear in the "Woman of Tomorrow" comic, possesses superstrength and rapid healing abilities in the same vein as Wolverine and roams the galaxy as a ruthless bounty hunter with deadly marksmanship. David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham are also on board as Kara's parents, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed in January. "Supergirl" will be directed by Craig Gillespie with a screenplay by Ana Nogueira of "The Vampire Diaries" and "Hamilton" fame.
