ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)The Abu Dhabi Hazardous Materials Management Centre has launched its corporate identity, reflecting the centre's strategic directions and future vision.The launch signals the start of a new phase in achieving its mission to protect the community and the environment, while ensuring that Abu Dhabi remains safe and sustainable in hazardous materials management.The centre's corporate identity is inspired by its core objectives: establishing a comprehensive legislative and regulatory framework, integrated hazardous materials management, capacity building, and enhancing institutional readiness.The triangular design is derived from global standards used by entities managing hazardous materials worldwide. The outer edges symbolise containment and protection. The logo features a blend of colours: orange represents safety and protection, while metallic blue signifies resilience and containment. These elements reflect the centre's core values.Acting Director General of Abu Dhabi Hazardous Materials Management Centre, His Excellency Khalfan Abdulla Khalfan Almansoori, said, 'The launch of the centre's corporate identity marks a significant milestone in its journey toward leadership. It embodies the aspirations of our wise leadership to enhance safety and security in Abu Dhabi while reinforcing the emirate's position as a safe environment for investment, in alignment with Abu Dhabi Vision 2030.'The launch of the new corporate identity aims to unify the centre's image and build trust with partners and the community. Through this identity, the centre aspires to establish strategic partnerships with leading local and international institutions in hazardous materials management, fostering the exchange of expertise and the implementation of global best practices.'The centre's efforts focus on several key sectors, including security, safety, energy, transportation, environment, health, food, urban planning, and water, alongside private sector entities and companies.
The corporate identity aims to ensure effective communication and positive engagement with the targeted sectors while fostering a deeper understanding of the centre's role and vision for the years ahead.

Framatome has more than 40 years extensive experience fabricating fuel for Combustion Engineering design reactors like Barakah and has supplied more than 6,000 fuel assemblies of that type. Barakah remains the region's first multi-unit nuclear energy plant and a global benchmark for successful nuclear new-build programs. ENEC has delivered the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant—comprising four APR-1400 reactors, which are now the region's largest source of clean electricity—in just eight years. At the ongoing Liwa Date Festival, Huda Saif Kenish Alhameli has caught the attention of experts and visitors with her high-quality, all-natural charcoal. 'The idea came up in response to a competition announced by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority for the Liwa Date Festival 2025,' Alhameli told Aletihad . 'The public response has been incredibly encouraging and I'm excited to continue developing it further,' she charcoal stands out for its eco-friendly composition and high performance. Since it's made exclusively from natural date pits, it contains no chemicals or allergens. It ignites quickly, burns for an extended period and offers a cleaner, more sustainable alternative to traditional product has been tested and certified by METS Laboratories, ensuring that it's safe and ready for commercial use, she sees a bright future for this project, 'especially with the support of our wise leadership and institutions dedicated to sustainability'.The initiative, she added, is not only about innovation but preserving the palm tree as a cultural symbol. UAE growth to remain strong at over 4%, says IMF

SREENIVASA REDDY (ABU DHABI)The UAE's economic growth is expected to remain healthy at over 4% in 2025, despite geopolitical tensions in the region, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). 'We're seeing robust growth in non-hydrocarbon activity, driven by tourism, construction, public spending, and financial services,' IMF spokesperson Julie Kozack told Aletihad during an online press briefing. She added that oil production in the UAE is increasing faster than anticipated, following the reversal of earlier output cuts. 'The UAE economy has shown resilience in the face of lower oil prices and increased price volatility this year,' Kozack to the broader region, she said GCC growth is estimated to have rebounded to 1.4% in 2024, despite reduced oil output. 'Our projection in the April World Economic Outlook was that GCC growth would rise further to 3.3% in 2025.'She added that non-hydrocarbon growth across the GCC is also expected to remain strong, supported by rapid investment, construction, and ongoing reforms aimed at diversifying regional economies. She affirmed that inflation in the GCC region remained under control. Kozack advised the GCC governments to maintain fiscal prudence while continuing with structural reforms to support long-term economic diversification.
