Britain's Prince Edward visiting Philadelphia to dedicate Bicentennial Bell
Prince Edward will be appearing at the dedication ceremony for the Bicentennial Bell at the Benjamin Rush Garden, at 3rd and Walnut streets inside Independence National Historic Park.
Gifted to the U.S. by Queen Elizabeth II in 1976, the Bicentennial Bell celebrates 200 years of freedom.

The bell, a replica of the Liberty Bell, was gifted to the United States in 1976 when Queen Elizabeth II visited Philadelphia for the Bicentennial celebration — 200 years after the 13 colonies declared independence.

The bell bears an inscription, "For the people of the United States, from the people of Britain, 4 July 1976 / Let Freedom Ring."
The bell was in storage for a decade before it got its new home in the Benjamin Rush Garden — as a centerpiece.
Who is Prince Edward?
Prince Edward is the current Duke of Edinburgh after his brother, King Charles III, gifted him the title on his 59th birthday in 2023.
Edward is the youngest of the late Queen Elizabeth II's children. He is also Earl of Wessex and Forfar.
Prince Edward has made multiple trips to the U.S. and was involved in theater productions in his younger years; he also had his own TV production company.
In 2012, he visited Girard College to plant a tree in honor of the Diamond Jubilee (60th anniversary) of his mother's reign.
King Edward VII, the prince's great-great-grandfather, also planted a tree on the campus in 1860 to mark the kingdom's relationship with the City of Brotherly Love.

Famous brown bear Chunk has broken jaw, but he's still eating, ‘chasing ladies'
When the famous brown bear named Chunk appeared on the web cam in late June, post-hibernation, his jaw was broken and there was concern that he'd have trouble eating salmon on Alaska's Brooks River. 'Whoever Chunk rumbled with sure got him good!' Travel Guide Book exclaimed June 22 via Facebook. 'He appears to be slowly healing, getting around and he tried to eat some grass so that is a good sign.' Chunk is among the more popular bears in Alaska's Katmai National Park & Preserve, in large part because of his size and dominance at Brooks Falls, where his antics are often captured by the live cam. He's also a regular in the Fat Bear Week competition, a fan-driven event held each fall. It's unclear how Chunk suffered a broken jaw but the injury might have occurred during a quarrel with another bear, or perhaps a moose. in partnership with the National Park Service, maintains a series of live cams on the Brooks River. Explore posted the accompanying Instagram clip Friday, with the description: "Chunk the Hunk – broken jaw and all.' While his jaw remains askew, Chunk certainly appears to be gaining weight. 'Is he OK? Will he heal?' one follower wondered. Another replied, 'He's already healing, eating well and gaining weight and chasing the ladies.' ALSO: Idaho hunter convicted of poaching famously elusive trophy-size elk Katmai's brown bears feast on salmon during the summer and fall, desperate to put on enough weight to sustain them through the winter. The live cameras enable viewers to witness the bears' transformation from reasonably skinny bears (relatively speaking) to rotund behemoths that are almost literally dragging their bellies. The cameras also showcase the bears' interactions with one another. Chunk has not won the Fat Bear Week competition, but finished second last year to a female bear named Grazer, who also won in 2023. Sadly, one of Grazer's cubs was killed by Chunk last summer after being swept over the falls. Some Katmai fans have wondered whether it could have been Grazer who broke Chunk's jaw.

Neal McDonough wants to stick with his band of brothers in Hollywood. In fact, the actor, 59, is taking back his previous remarks that the industry turned on him for refusing to kiss his co-stars. 'We want to say thank you, Hollywood,' McDonough's wife, Ruvé Robertson, said during a joint interview with TMZ on Thursday. 'I don't like how people are saying that Hollywood turned its back on Neal. No, it didn't. It was me, really, who had a problem. I was like, 'Yeah, I don't want to put you through it. And for two years, I couldn't get a job, and I lost everything you could possibly imagine. Not just houses and material things, but your swagger, your cool, who you are, your identity, everything.' And I was in a big, ugly tailspin for a couple of years.' After the incident, McDonough – whose acting credits also include 'Band of Brothers,' 'Arrow,' 'Justified,' and 'Tulsa King' – started drinking more. 'I never drank during the set. I never drank during work because I love my craft and I take it with the utmost seriousness in everything I do,' he shared. 'But after work or days off or anything, I still feel like I wasn't a man.
