The turnaround sparked joyous scenes at full-time as Cole Palmer and Co celebrated to the nth degree.
That particular scene provoked plenty of derision from rival fans given it's the third-tier European competition and a giant club only ends up in it after severely under-performing the previous campaign.
Dublin Airport's social media team were among the haters as they posted a witty photo of Chelsea aces merrily dancing.
It was captioned: "Celebrating winning the Conference League = clapping when the plane lands."

But in five years' time it's highly unlikely many people will remember the heady night in Poland when the youngest squad in the Premier League came of age by coming from behind to see off Real Betis.

His young team was a bag of nerves in the first half and as such went behind inside ten minutes to a team comprised of veterans and cast offs, managed by a bloke exactly the same age as Maresca's dad.

Chelsea have now officially won it, or bought it all depending on your viewpoint. But their squad is priced at around £750 million, more than five times that of their opponents here.

Manchester United make improved bid worth up to €81 million for Bryan Mbeumo
MANCHESTER UNITED HAVE made an improved bid worth up to €81 million (£70m) for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo. The 25-year-old has been a key target for Ruben Amorim's Red Devils, who made a first approach of €52m (£45m) plus €11.5m (£10m) in potential add-ons six weeks ago. United followed that up with an improved proposal exceeding €69m (£60m) a few weeks later but talks stalled as Brentford held on for a greater fee for Mbeumo. Advertisement The Old Trafford club have now made a new offer that PA understands to be worth €75m (£65m) plus an additional €5.8m (£5m) in potential add-ons as they attempt to sign the player before their pre-season tour. Amorim's men head to the United States on Tuesday and have so far only signed Brazil international Matheus Cunha from Wolves for a fee of €72m (£62.5m). Mbeumo joined Brentford from Troyes in 2019 and has a year left on his deal, albeit there is an option to extend by a further year. Tottenham, managed by former Bees boss Thomas Frank, have shown interest but the Cameroon international is understood to have expressed a desire to move to Old Trafford. United are looking to rebuild after slumping home 15th last season and losing the Europa League final to Tottenham, meaning they missed out on Champions League qualification and European football entirely. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia are searching for new homes. Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof have left on free transfers, while Jonny Evans has retired.

The 20-year-old's transfer surpassed the previous women's record set when Chelsea signed Naomi Girma from San Diego Wave for £900,000 in January. Smith moved to Liverpool from Portugal's Sporting for just £200,000 in 2024, scoring seven goals in 20 Women's Super League games. Manchester United bid to break Bryan Mbeumo deadlock with improved offer for 25-year-old Brentford forward
United have offered an initial £65m with a further £5m payable in add ons − a huge jump on the opening offer they made more than six weeks ago. Ruben Amorim is eager to have the Cameroon international on United's pre-season tour of the US and hopes a third bid will be enough to persuade Brentford to sell. United made an opening bid of £45m with a further £10m in add ons at the start of June but were told that was nowhere near Brentford's valuation of a player they deemed to be worth more than the £62.5 million the Manchester club had just paid Wolves for Matheus Cunha. They then raised their offer to £55 million with an additional £7.5m in add ons only for Brentford to also reject that bid a month ago. Brentford are understood to have wanted more money upfront and a total package that reached at least £70m. We need your consent to load this Social Media content. United's move to now offer a guaranteed sum worth £20m more than their initial bid may raise questions among some fans about why they started the bidding so low given the Cunha fee had effectively set a benchmark for any prospective deal for Mbeumo. Amorim and his squad are due to fly to Chicago on Tuesday for the start of their pre-season tour of the US, where they will be taking part in the Premier League Summer Series with Everton, Aston Villa and Bournemouth. Amorim has been eager to address United's chronic shortage of goals – they managed just 44 in 38 Premier League games last season. Mbeumo, who scored 20 goals and claimed seven assists for Brentford last season, would further bolster United's attacking options. The 25-year-old – who has reported back for pre-season with Brentford – is entering the final 12 months of his contract, although the club have an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months. Tottenham, who are now managed by Thomas Frank, Mbeumo's former coach at Brentford, also wanted Mbeumo but he made it clear his sights were set on a move to United. Amorim would also like to add a striker, central midfielder and centre-back this summer but United need to sell to raise funds to reinvest.
