Raveena Tandon's stunning sea-facing home, Neelaya, is a peaceful escape from the busy life of Bandra. She shares her home with husband Anil Thadani and her in-laws, and her two children – daughter Rasha and son Ranbir. The house combines different styles of design, taking inspiration from Moroccan, French, European, and South Indian architecture. The name Neelaya means 'blue abode,' and according to ET Now, the home is worth around Rs 70 crore. Real estate reports say that the entrance of the house is beautifully designed, giving a glimpse of the artistic beauty that continues inside. The house features stone statues of Nandi, Ganesha, Shiva, and Parvati. These statues are placed as per Vastu Shastra to bring positive energy into the home. As per the same report, the Nandi sculpture at the entrance is said to be over 50 years old. It was reportedly sourced from a temple town in South India. Art plays an important role in the decor. Paintings by well-known artists like Paresh Maity and Thotta Vaikuntham add color and personality to the walls. The living room has marble floors and red brick walls, mixing modern style with traditional charm. There's also a marble-top bar counter with a wooden base and dark leather bar stools that add a touch of elegance. The dining area has a European feel, with forest green walls decorated with 3D wooden panels and light wooden floors. Raveena's bedroom is painted in calming jade green, with square wooden designs on the walls. It includes a beautiful vintage-style vanity table with makeup lights and some Feng Shui plants to create a peaceful and positive environment. Speaking to Raveena Tandon shared, 'The home is a fusion of sorts. Both Anil and I didn't want to restrict ourselves to any particular style. I am as much in love with the sublime architecture of Kerala, as I am enamoured by the intricacy of Moroccan design. Rustic, I love. But I love the lusciousness of luxe finishes even more. I wanted a little bit of everything in my house. Anil and I knew exactly what we wanted for the house. Architects Saket Sethi and Shabnam Gupta helped us realise our vision for the home to reality. It had to look good as a complete picture. We've been told that our house has good vibrations and that's all that matters.'

Once perceived as a game for the elderly in the dimly-lit tea houses of East Asia, Mahjong, a classic Chinese tile strategy game, is finding a strong foothold in namma ooru. From cafes and homes to premium clubs, Mahjong games are creating ties through tiles with its fresh, tactile approach appealing to Bengalureans. Rupali Reddy, an avid Mahjong enthusiast, discovered the game after watching Crazy Rich Asians a few years ago. 'It looked so fast and fun, especially the way the older Asian women played,' recalls Reddy, who signed up for a class in March and hasn't looked back since. Reddy now plays several times a week and credits the game for sharpening her cognitive skills and expanding her social circle. 'There's strategy, hand-eye coordination, and social interaction all rolled into one,' she notes. For nutritionist Shalini Manglani, Mahjong has, quite literally, been a game-changing move. She decided to turn entrepreneur and is now retailing Mahjong sets. In fact, Manglani is launching her retail store titled 'Mahjong World' at Ffolio on Saturday, where visitors can shop for clothes and buy Mahjong sets. 'The game involves only a spirit of healthy competition. There's no gambling – it's pure skill, camaraderie, and lots of laughs; it's a mood lifter. I hope to have an Indian Mahjong – the rules may change a little bit here and there, though.' Why the buzz? The game demands focus, memory, and strategy, which makes it a preferred pastime for many, especially the middle-aged and senior folk. For Elizabeth Jacob, a 73-year-old player who picked up Mahjong just a few months ago, the game has become a way to cope with loss. 'I needed something engaging after the passing of my husband. I don't play any other games, but Mahjong really pulled me in,' says Jacob, who plays regularly at the Bangalore Club and is part of a growing community of enthusiasts. 'When you leave the table, you feel light – like you've had a good workout for the brain and heart,' she adds. Anu Menda, another Mahjong enthusiast, who had previously played the game overseas, agrees. 'Combining sharp thinking, friendly competition, and lots of shared laughter, it's a wonderful mix of mental exercise and meaningful bonding, making every game a chance to create lasting memories together,' she points out.
