Ketel Marte reveals precisely what White Sox heckler yelled about mom
Ketel Marte has dealt with so much in the past few days, and to see him getting love from Arizona Diamondbacks fans -- and so many others around the world -- is so heartening after a fan heckled him about his late mother.
But what exactly was yelled to the D-Backs star that led to him crying on the field and the fan in question getting banned indefinitely from every stadium?
In an interview with journalist Yancen Pujols that was translated from Spanish, he broke down the incident. He said in the seventh inning, he came to the plate against the White Sox when he heard a Chicago fan "saying stuff about my mom"
"He was like, 'I sent your mom a text last night,'" he revealed. He added that when "everything happened with [his] mom" in 2017, he had actually been in Chicago.
Watch the entire interview and then see how D-Backs fans greeted him on Friday night:

Some wore "Ketel is my MVP" t-shirts, others held up signs with messages of love and support.
