Selena Gomez Teases New Looks From Season 5 Of 'Only Murders In The Building'
Selena Gomez returned to the Upper West Side this week—on set, at least—offering a first glimpse at the fashion of Only Murders in the Building 's fifth season. Filming in New York City on June 9, the singer-actor teased two distinct looks that hint at the evolving aesthetic of her character, Mabel Mora, whose wardrobe has become a character of the show in its own right.
The first look, from back in May, saw Gomez lean into a stealthy heist style with a long-sleeve turtleneck layered under a faux leather shirt-dress by Nanushka, opaque black tights, heeled boots by Paul Andrew and a roomy quilted Prada tote. Now, as the cast returns to filming scenes on the streets of New York City, Gomez was pictured again in two leather looks over the weekend. Dressed in a noir, faux-leather coat by A.W.A.K.E. Mode, studded with silver snap buttons all over, Gomez's Mabel looked ready for another day of sleuthing—this time with a polished edge. Later, she switched gears, buttoning up a tailored navy jacket by Nili Lotan, an Alex Perry maroon pinstripe skirt and sheer, printed tights. Navy blue suede boots by Jeffrey Campbell also featured white stripes on the side, and dangling silver earrings completed the look, evoking a slightly moodier prep aesthetic. While not much has been shared regarding season five's plot, photos from the show's set promise even more sartorial intrigue—and A-list cameos, too. In a photo dump shared on Instagram this weekend, the model showed off a few items from her Western themed collaboration with Frankies Bikinis. In one image, she styled a white minidress from the line under a dark denim shirt from Wrangler. To emulate the romantic Western fantasy of the collection, she displayed a rose in the front pocket. The minidress features a plunging neckline and floral eyelet embroidery, as well as scalloping along the hem and neckline.
