Beloved 'Happy Days' Star Finally Earns His First Acting Emmy Nomination at the Age of 71

Beloved 'Happy Days' Star Finally Earns His First Acting Emmy Nomination at the Age of 71 originally appeared on Parade. Ron Howard is having one very happy day! On July 15, the former child star-turned-director, 71, received his very first acting Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in The Studio. In the Apple TV+ comedy series, Howard plays a fictionalized version of himself, and hilarity ensues as studio head Matt Remick (Seth Rogen) and his colleagues argue over who should be the one to tell the legendary filmmaker that he needs to cut a scene from his next movie. Howard's performance wasn't just a hit with the Television Academy, but also with his costars. "[He] was so game and so good and really tried so hard," Rogen, 43, gushed of working with the Happy Days alum in an interview with People. "[He] worked really hard on the performance and the role and yeah, he was very impressive." Howard's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, who jokingly acted as her father's "momager" on The Studio set, was quite amazed too. "I was so nervous for him because he hasn't acted — he's done some stuff, like in Arrested Development, he's done some cameos here and there — but [this was] like a real part with dialogue, and they're shooting it all with oners, so you cannot mess up," she said at a live taping of Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast in New York City on April 14. However, "he went and he did the rehearsal, and honestly, I was like, oh my God. He was so good," the actress, 44, admitted. "He was so on point, and everyone was just sort of baffled by it, frankly." 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 Will it be enough to earn Howard the Emmy, though? Come September, he'll be going up against last year's winner, The Bear's Jon Bernthal, as well as several other The Studio guest stars, including Bryan Cranston, Dave Franco, Anthony Mackie and Martin Scorsese. Instant Analysis: Brewers Select Andrew Fischer in First Round of 2025 MLB Draft

Instant Analysis: Brewers Select Andrew Fischer in First Round of 2025 MLB Draft originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The pick is in! The Milwaukee Brewers have made their selection on who will lead their 2025 MLB Draft class. Advertisement Holding the 20th overall selection in the first round, with a slot value of $4,268,100, the Brewers picked Tennessee 1B/3B Andrew Fischer. Who is this player and how does he fit in the organization? Here are some instant takeaways and analysis from the selection. Tennessee's Andrew Fischer (11) gestures as he rounds the bases after hitting a home run during game one of the NCAA baseball tournament Fayetteville Super Regional between Tennessee and Arkansas held at Baum-Walker Stadium on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Andrew Fischer, 1B/3B, Tennessee Back-to-back seasons the Brewers go with a corner infielder from the University of Tennessee. Andrew Fischer comes to the Crew in a bit of a surprise. While the Brewers have historically preferred up the middle players, they've now gone with a corner infielder in two of the last three Drafts, going back to Brock Wilken in 2023. Advertisement Offensively, Fischer is a prototypical corner infielder with big time raw power and a solid enough hit tool. In his lone season at Tennessee, replacing Blake Burke who is also in the Brewers system, Fischer hit .341/.497/.760 with 25 home runs with 63 walks and 42 strikeouts. Defensively, Fischer has experience at third base, but he lacks the range to continue to play there at the next level. He'll likely move to first base as he goes up through the system. The Brewers love players that make great swing decisions, it's a point of emphasis for their hitting development and Fischer makes some of the best swing decisions in this Draft. Despite being a power-over-hit guy, the hit tool is pretty solid and it's a well rounded look on offense. The Brewers are also likely getting some slot money savings here with this pick, allowing them the flexibility to be creative with their later selections. Fischer is the sixth straight position player in the first round for Milwaukee. Five of those six have been from the college ranks. A Rose Ceremony Bombshell! Who Went Home on 'Bachelor in Paradise' 2025 Tonight?

A Rose Ceremony Bombshell! Who Went Home on 'Bachelor in Paradise' 2025 Tonight? originally appeared on Parade. On episode 2 of Bachelor in Paradise season 10, four new women joined the show — Alli Jo Hinkes, Parisa Shifteh, Jill Chin and Susie Evans. The show also introduced a Kissing Booth game that was quite informative, though it happened before Jill and Susie got to the resort. As the newbies, the new women were all given date cards. Parisa asked Brian Autz on her date, Alli Jo asked Jonathon Johnson on her date, Jill also asked Jonathon (though it was kind of a friends thing), and Susie asked Jeremy Simon on her date. Below are all the details from episode 2, including who coupled up and which women were sent packing from Bachelor in Paradise season 10 in 2025. Beware of spoilers men had the roses this week, and since four new women were introduced, four women had to go home. Here's who got the boot: The remaining eliminated woman appears to be Lexi Young, but that remains to be seen. What happened was that her match from the premiere episode, Justin Glaze, did not offer Lexi a rose. Instead, he offered a rose to his ex-girlfriend Susie. As Susie said, it seemed like he was doing it to give Susie a chance to stay and possibly meet someone when new male contestants are added to the show. But Susie didn't want to stay that way, and she turned his rose down. Justin then left the set, Susie chased after him, cameramen gave chase to them, and then Lexi walked off set in a different direction, and the show left us with a "to be continued"...For the Kissing Booth game, each contestant — the six couples left from the premiere, plus the two new women, Alli Jo and Parisa — was given an iPad and was able to vote on which members of the opposite sex they wanted to kiss in the Kissing Booth. Only couples that matched ended up in the Kissing Booth. Many of the men "swiped right" on every girl just to see who would match with them. Spencer and Justin were the only two who stayed completely loyal to the woman who gave them a rose in week 1.
