Who won Survivor 48? Summing up how the latest season ended
Kyle Fraser emerged victorious during the Final Tribal Council, besting fellow finalists Eva Erickson and Joe Hunter to win the million dollars and the bragging rights of winning a season of Survivor.
Kamilla Karthigesu also made the Survivor 48 final four but was eliminated during the fire-making competition.
It's as hard a game to play as any on Earth, but Kyle won with his resiliency, strategy and heart during his time in Fiji. He will join Survivor 47 winner Rachel LaMont in the pantheon of recent game winers.
The final four in the game were indeed Kyle, Joe, Kamilla and Eva, with the latter two competing in the fire-making competition and Eva winning that battle. Mitch Guerra finished in fifth place.
In the Final Tribal Council, Kyle was able to make his case the best to the jurors of why he should win the competition. The final tally went his way, and he was crowned Survivor 48 victor.
We'll see if this latest winner, any of these other finalists or other Survivor 48 castaways make it back to the island for Survivor 50 once the cast gets announced next week.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard made a bold move over the weekend in regards to their online musical presence, completely removing their entire discography from Spotify. Their sole presence on the platform as of July 29th, 2025 are four songs featured on compilation albums: 'Phantom Island', 'Le Risque', 'The Dripping Tap' and 'Daily Blues'. Their remix of Confidence Man's 'Sicko', from the group's remix album 5am (La La La) from April 2025, also remains on the platform. The psych-rock sextet revealed their decision on Saturday (July 25th), as they shared a new compilation entitled Demos Vol. 7 + Vol. 8 – noting it was available 'everywhere but Spotify'. To make their position exceptionally clear, they followed this up by adding: 'Fuck Spotify.' An Instagram story by the band was then shared, with the background of the story featuring a photo of the controversial and heavily criticised AI-generated band The Velvet Sundown, who have accumulated over 1.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify and released three albums despite not actually existing. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard – 'Le Risque' 'A PSA for those unaware: Spotify CEO Daniel Ek invests millions in AI military drone technology,' the band wrote. 'We just removed our music from the platform. Can we put pressure on these Dr. Evil tech bros to do better? Join us on another platform.' King Gizzard are the latest, and arguably the most prominent, act to join an ongoing boycott against the platform over Ek's involvement with Helsing, a company he chairs that develops military drones, surveillance and AI software. Internationally, groups such as Deerhoof and Xiu Xiu have pulled their music from the platform in protest, while locally acts like Dr. Sure's Unusual Practice, Leah Senior and Hugh F. have done the same. 'We need to send a message that this is not OK, and that's going to affect your business,' said Dr. Sure's frontman Dougal Shaw in a statement shared to the band's Instagram account. 'They're taking the fruits of our labour and using it to fund the war machine. We're not going to let your business just tick over. We have very little impact [with] our little boycott, I'm aware of that, but there needs to be solidarity. We need to come together. There needs to be established artists, whose absence will actually be felt, to come on board. Let's collectively draw a line in the sand.' The Block fans have been left divided after Foreman Dan was caught in a heated clash with Han (of team Han and Can) after she disobeyed his instructions about waterproofing her bathroom. Most teams during Tuesday night's episode were a little behind schedule with their waterproofing, with many still having one coat to finish before they could start tiling. And if you've never watched The Block before, Waterproofing Wednesday, as it's known, is a big deal, because if your waterproofing isn't done on time, your whole bathroom is in danger of not getting finished. So, if there was something you could do to speed up your waterproofing, no doubt you'd probably try, right? The Block's Han clashes with Foreman Dan: 'Gone behind my back' So, when Han tells Foreman Dan and site manager Aidan that she's done an unheard-of "one and a half coats" of waterproofing and that their waterproofer overslept and is still almost two hours away, she's immediately told she cannot do any work without the tradie there. Dan explains to the viewers that you can't do what Han claims to have done, where the waterproofer was 'working around' her doing a second coat while she was doing the first coat, saying, "For waterproofing, you need to do one coat, you've gotta let it fully cure, then you do a second coat. There is no 'working coat'." She starts the second coat before her tradie arrives, of course! It doesn't take long before Dan sees her doing the work before the waterproofer has arrived, and he's not happy. Han tried to claim that the waterproofer was on site, but Dan wasn't having that, telling her, "No he's not! Where is he?" "You've disobeyed my instruction, so now I've lost trust here," he said. "Because you've just gone behind my back." Han explains that she misheard him and didn't mean to go behind his back, but Dan is unimpressed. He tells her that he's not fully shutting down their site, but she can't help the waterproofer complete the job. "I feel like I just got told off by my parents as a kid," Can tells girlfriend Han. Later, when Dan comes to check out their finished waterproofing, Han pulls him aside to apologise, explaining she's devastated and that she just had so much on her mind that she didn't listen properly, but promises not to do it again. Dan told her he understood, saying that it's a learning experience and they can move on.
