The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Centre (Aman), a member of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, is participating in the sixth edition of the 'Police Officers of Tomorrow' programme. This year's workshops are being held in collaboration with the Police Academy, represented by the Police College, and feature a series of awareness sessions for children enrolled in the programme.
Aman's workshops aim to raise community awareness around bullying and cyberbullying, while educating children about social protection mechanisms and how to prevent such harmful behaviours.
In this context, Fadl bin Mohammed Al Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of the Aman Centre, emphasised the importance of this collaboration with the Police Academy. He noted that the awareness sessions help enhance children's understanding of ways to prevent cyberbullying and blackmail, while also training them to respond to such situations in a positive and effective manner.
He added that the centre is committed to fostering national identity and a sense of belonging among children by organising interactive activities designed to develop leadership skills and build self-confidence—reflecting Aman's broader role in supporting community efforts to protect young people.
For her part, Hanan Al Ali, Head of the Communication and Media Office at Aman, underlined the centre's strong focus on cooperation with security agencies to achieve its strategic objectives. These include protecting children and victims of family disintegration from violence and helping to reintegrate them into society.
She stressed that early awareness and prevention during childhood are essential pillars in character-building and empowering children to face life's challenges.
Aman Centre works to protect and rehabilitate women and children affected by violence and family breakdown, and to reintegrate them into society. As part of its ongoing outreach, the centre organises annual awareness workshops throughout the summer in cooperation with partners from various sectors.
This year's Police Officers of Tomorrow programme is aimed at Qatari students born between 2013 and 2016. Participants will be divided into six groups, with three morning groups attending from June 29 to August 7. The programme features a variety of military and sports activities, in addition to awareness and guidance sessions conducted in collaboration with several entities. These include the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, the National Cyber Security Agency, the National Human Rights Committee, and the Qatar Foundation for Social Work and its affiliated centres—Aman, Ehsan, Nama, and Daam. The children will also take part in field visits to departments within the Ministry of Interior and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).
