Little did Riyan know that enroute his 45-ball 95, he would also turn a two-year-old dream into a reality. Back in March 2023, a 21-year-old Riyan tweeted with youthful bravado, 'My inner conscience says I'm hitting 4 sixes in an over at some point this IPL'.

Who's that IPL player?
He not only fulfilled but surpassed that prophecy, etching his name in IPL history.
Chasing a daunting 207, Royals were reeling at 102 for 5 in the 12th over. With pressure mounting, Riyan stepped up. Facing KKR's seasoned spinner Moeen Ali in the 13th over, he unleashed a breathtaking assault. The second ball he faced soared over deep square leg, the next cleared long-on, and the fourth and fifth rocketed over square leg and long-on again. Moeen, desperate to disrupt Riyan's rhythm, bowled a wide, but the reprieve was brief. Parag hammered the next delivery over long-off, completing five sixes in the over.
In the next over, Shimron Hetmyer took a single, bringing Parag back on strike. With a cheeky reverse-sweep, he dispatched Varun Chakravarthy over backward point, sealing six sixes in a row. But despite his valiant effort, the Royals lost by one run.

MotoGP in India dropped from 2026 calendar: All you need to know

Image Courtesy: X/MotoGP. India's wait to host a MotoGP race just got longer. The provisional 2026 calendar released by Dorna Sports , the commercial rights holder of MotoGP, does not feature the Indian Grand Prix . This notable absence stretches the event's hiatus to at least three consecutive years. India last hosted a MotoGP round in 2023 at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida. Despite being part of the 2024 calendar, the race was cancelled and rescheduled to March 2025, citing extreme weather conditions experienced during the inaugural event. Later, it was pushed to 2026 due to 'operational circumstances.' But now, even that revised timeline appears in doubt. MotoGP 2026 Calendar. (Image: MotoGP/X). The Buddh International Circuit, once touted as a fresh addition to the global racing map, now finds itself in limbo. The recent exclusion raises fresh concerns about the long-term viability of MotoGP in India , despite a three-year agreement between Dorna and the Uttar Pradesh government to host races from 2025 through 2027. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Kia Carens Clavis first drive review: Game-Changer for electric MPVs? | TOI Auto The cancellation of the 2024 race was officially attributed to harsh weather conditions in the National Capital Region. The 2023 race, held in September, saw trackside temperatures nearing 40°C and humidity levels touching 80 percent. This year's cancellation was pegged on operational and logistical difficulties. With India now absent from the MotoGP calendar for 2024, 2025, and potentially even 2026, the question remains: when, or even if, the premier two-wheeled racing championship will return to the country. IND vs ENG 4th Test: 'Obsession with batting' - R Ashwin slams decision to play Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur in action on Day Two of the 4th Test Match vs England (Photo by) R Ashwin has strongly criticised India's decision to leave out Kuldeep Yadav for the fourth Test in Manchester, suggesting the team's continued obsession with batting depth has come at the cost of wicket-taking options. On a day where England's openers tore into India's bowling, Ashwin questioned the team management's choices. 'If somebody had told me that Kuldeep Yadav would not be playing any part in the first four Tests, I would have been very, very surprised,' he said on his YouTube channel. 'Unfortunately, it is our obsession with batting and looking for those 20-30 extra runs.' England ended Day 2 at 225/2, trailing by 133, after a 166-run opening stand between Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. Their aggressive approach left India's bowlers struggling. Shardul Thakur opens up on being under bowled, gives inside details on Rishabh Pant Ashwin argued that India missed a trick by picking Shardul Thakur , who replaced the injured Nitish Kumar Reddy, ahead of Kuldeep. Shardul scored 41 in the first innings but bowled just five overs on Thursday. 'If you are only planning to give Shardul Thakur this many overs, and expect 20-30 runs from him – I love Shardul Thakur, I like him a lot – but if this is the usage point, why can't you consider Kuldeep Yadav? It is just blowing my head away.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Use an AI Writing Tool That Actually Understands Your Voice Grammarly Install Now Undo Kuldeep, who has 56 wickets in 13 Tests at 22.16, is seen as someone who could have made a dent in England's aggressive top order. 'I am not saying that Kuldeep would have picked up five wickets if he were playing, but it plays with a batter's mind,' Ashwin said. 'He would have at least picked one wicket – maybe given 40 runs – but broken the opening partnership. I feel India missed someone like Kuldeep Yadav on day two.' Poll Do you agree with R Ashwin's criticism of India's selection choices? Yes, Kuldeep Yadav should have played No, I support the current team selection Ashwin added: 'Gone are those days in England; the advantage of 20-30 runs is gone... picking up 2-3 wickets is even more critical than those 30-40 runs.' As India continue to battle it out against the hosts on Day 3, the visitors are yet to take a wicket. Joe Root and Ollie Pope remain solid at the crease as England crossed the 300-run mark before lunch.
