The accused reportedly mentioned that he felt a sense of "satisfaction" from watching these videos and had downloaded over 50 such clips on his phone, the report said.
The woman who reported the incident in the First Information Report (FIR) said that she saw Nagesh filming her from the next cubicle while using the washroom, panicked, and raised an alarm. Custodial harassment: case registered against police officers and former employers of domestic worker
The Thiruvananthapuram City Police have registered a case in connection with the alleged custodial harassment of a Dalit woman at the Peroorkada police station after being falsely accused of theft three months ago. The Peroorkada police registered the case based on a complaint by Nedumangad native Bindhu R., a domestic worker, against her former employer Omana Daniel, her daughter Nisha, and sub-inspector Prasad S.G. and assistant sub-inspector Prasannakumar K.S., who were suspended in connection with the controversy. SC/ST panel's intervention The complaint follows the intervention of the Kerala State Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) Commission who probed allegations of caste-based discrimination and police misconduct. The First Information Report includes serious charges, including giving false statements, wrongful confinement and caste-based harassment. It also states that the police officers failed to properly investigate before registering the original complaint. The complainant was falsely accused of stealing a gold chain by Ms. Daniel and her daughter. Ms. Bindhu was taken into custody without prior notice on April 23 and held overnight at the Peroorkada police station, where she was reportedly harassed by the officers. 'Verbally abused' The complainant alleged that the officers verbally abused and mentally tortured her during the illegal detention, which extended until noon the next day. The gold chain was later recovered from the complainant's house, proving the theft accusation baseless. The incident sparked widespread outrage, prompting an internal inquiry led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cantonment. The probe found that the officers involved had acted beyond their authority. The case is presently being investigated by a Crime Branch team, led by Pathanamthitta Crime Branch DySP K.A. Vidyadharan in accordance with directions by the Kerala State Human Rights Commission. The investigation team is expected to submit its report this week.

Indie dog goes missing in Bengaluru, army doctor who rescued him flies home for search: Report
In a quiet Bengaluru neighbourhood, a family continues to search for their furry friend who vanished without a trace over a week ago. Kalu, an 18-month-old Indie dog has been missing since the night of June 28, leaving his family devastated, The Times of India reported. Kalu was rescued by army doctor Harshita in Arunachal Pradesh and has been missing since June 28. (Representative image) READ | After Tigress and cubs, five stray dogs die in Bengaluru due to suspected poisoning: Report Kalu's journey began in the remote mountains of Arunachal Pradesh, where he was discovered as a frail puppy by Army doctor Harshita while she was posted on duty in late 2023. Among four abandoned pups, Kalu was the only one to survive after Harshita took them in and nursed them back to health with veterinary help. The bond was instant — she named him Kalu and brought him along as she transferred to Guwahati, and later, Belagavi in Karnataka. Due to her demanding schedule in Belagavi, Kalu was relocated in November 2024 to her family home in Govindarajanagar, Vijayanagar, where he quickly developed a routine of night walks after dinner. But on June 28, Kalu stepped out for his usual stroll and never returned. The family — Kusuma BH, a government employee; her son Bharat; and Harshita — has been working tirelessly to bring Kalu home. Within days of his disappearance, the family received a possible lead — a tipoff that Kalu was seen near a bar and restaurant in Basaveshwaranagar, about three km from home. By the time they arrived, he was gone again. READ | After tiger deaths, 20 dead monkeys found near Bandipur forest in Karnataka: Report Not willing to give up, the family launched a city-wide search campaign. Over 500 posters featuring Kalu's image have been distributed across Basaveshwaranagar, Mahalakshmipuram, Kurubarahalli, JC Nagar, and other localities. A reward of ₹15,000 has been announced for any credible information about his whereabouts, the report stated. The family has also turned to social media for help. When Harshita learned about Kalu's disappearance through a family group message, she immediately flew to Bengaluru from Arunachal Pradesh and has since joined the daily search, combing streets from dawn to dusk, Kusuma told the publication.

Hyderabad woman throttles husband, claims he died of heart attack; arrested after injury marks raise suspicion
HYDERABAD: A woman who initially claimed her husband had died of a heart attack was arrested by Bachupally police on Saturday, after investigations revealed that she had, in fact, murdered him. According to police, the victim, 32-year-old Anjilappa, was allegedly throttled to death by his wife, Radha, at their Bachupally residence on June 23. After the murder, Radha informed relatives that he had died of natural causes. She then booked an ambulance and shifted the body to his native place in Narayanpet for the final rites. However, during the funeral preparations, Anjilappa's relatives grew suspicious. "Radha told them he died due to a heart attack while intoxicated. But they noticed injury marks on his neck and suspected foul play," Bachupally inspector Upender Rao told TOI. The family immediately alerted the local police in Narayanpet, who registered an FIR and transferred the case to Bachupally police for further investigation. "She admitted to throttling him with her hands while he was asleep and under the influence of alcohol.
