Kim Woodburn's heartbreaking comments about ageing before tragic death
Kim Woodburn said she was 'glad she made it to 80' before the TV personality died aged 83 following a short illness. A representative for Kim shared the sad news in a statement, which described her as ' kind, caring, and charismatic'.
In a 2022 interview with OK!, Kim shared some heartbreaking comments about ageing and said she 'wished' she could be younger. While the TV legend said she was 'glad' she had 'made it' to her 80s, she emphasised that she doesn't know if she is going to be 'around the next year'.
Kim said at the time: "I'm glad I've made it to 80, but if I had one wish, it would be to be younger. You can't beat being young and planning ahead, thinking, 'In 10 years' time I'll do this...'".
The TV personality continued: "When you're 80, you don't know if you're going to be around the next year. I've done very well, but nobody wants to be 80.'
In the same interview, Kim shared some life advice as she told people to always be nice. She said: 'Be nice to people, treat people decently. Don't expect people to have all the values you do, we all have different values. Life goes by so quickly. You just have to have fun and be nice.'
Kim became famous for her role on Channel 4's How Clean Is Your House, which aired from 2003 to 2009. Kim worked alongside co-star Aggie MacKenzie as the duo transformed filthy homes with practical cleaning tips and became a staple of British television.
Beyond her cleaning expertise, Woodburn appeared in numerous reality and talk shows. In 2009, she was a runner-up on I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, and in 2017, she finished third in Celebrity Big Brother.
Kim has left behind her husband of 46 years, Peter, who has since taken to social media to share some sweet memories with the caption: "Thank you for everything xx xx. My wonderful, beautiful Kim passed away last night. God bless, my love, xx xx."
A representative for Kim also shared a statement which read: "It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved Kim Woodburn passed away yesterday following a short illness. Kim was an incredibly kind, caring, charismatic and strong person.
'Her husband Peter is heartbroken at the loss of his soulmate. We are so proud of the amazing things Kim achieved in her life and career.
"We kindly ask that Kim's husband and close friends are given the time and privacy they need to grieve. We will not be releasing any further details."

Big Brother legend takes swipe at Davina McCall on show's 25th anniversary
Exactly 25 years ago today, a television experiment changed broadcasting forever as Big Brother launched on Channel 4. Adapted from the Dutch format, which premiered in 1999, the UK version initially pitted ten housemates against one another in a monitored compound. Grace Adams-Short shot to fame during her appearance on season seven of the show in 2006, and quickly became known for her blunt opinions and fiery clashes with fellow housemates. Her divisive character famously led to fans chanting 'Get Grace Out' during eviction nights, and she exited to a chorus of boos after hurling a glass of water over housemate Susie Verrico. Now, nearly two decades later, Grace has revealed that she has zero regrets after the show led her to meeting her now-husband, Mikey Dalton. Speaking to Betway ahead of Big Brother's milestone anniversary, she has opened up about what the Big Brother hosts were really like off-camera in her experience, the surprising celebrity fans she gained following the show, and the memorable moments she and Mikey still look back on today. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. When looking back on her time on the show, Grace admitted that she's sometimes wondered if she should have 'just been the nice girl', and so lasted a longer amount of time in the Big Brother House. 'But I wouldn't have been able to keep that up. You're watched 24/7, so it's impossible to be someone you're not.' As for Susie? Grace hasn't seen her since as their paths 'have never crossed' – but she hopes that all of these years later, her housemate 'could now see the funny side of it all'. 'Big Brother was like a panto and it was all theatrical. I would never have thrown a glass of water over someone in normal life but it was such a strange environment. I was young too.' Grace was only 20 years old when she competed on Big Brother – and at the time, she thought that she 'knew it all'. 'I used to have such a potty mouth and even Mikey says he would often wish I'd stop talking in the house because he knew I was digging myself a deeper hole,' she said. 'I dealt with the boos and the backlash well, though. I think my background in dance gave me a thick skin and even at that young age, I could handle rejection.' Asked what her relationship was like with former hosts Davina McCall and Dermot O'Leary, she explained: 'Davina was never really friendly to me. Even during my eviction interview, I could tell she didn't like me. She was a Big Brother b***h! I've never seen her since. Dermot, on the other hand, was lovely. 'The nicest, most genuine guy. I had to spend a week with him on Big Brother's Little Brother after coming out of the house, and we had a great time. 'He even stopped his taxi on Regent's Street once because he saw me. He was always so lovely to my mum, too. Rylan Clark is such a great guy also. I met him years ago – this was before X Factor, when he still had ginger hair. 'He told me he was a huge fan of my series, and despite all the success he's achieved since, he's remained so lovely.' Following the fame she gained after leaving the show, Grace also revealed some of her biggest 'pinch-me moments'. I remember Simon Cowell approaching me at an event and asking me if I was being nicer to people yet,' she said. 'I felt like saying 'that's the pot calling the kettle black!' It was a pretty surreal moment to realise someone like Simon Cowell had been tuning in and watching me! 'There was another time when I was at V Festival and Richard Branson offered me his helicopter to get back home. I turned it down as I felt it was going out of his way. 'Mikey told me I was a fool to say no and it could have turned into a big business opportunity. But I just didn't want to inconvenience him!' More Trending Discussing what's next for her in her career, Grace said she has set up her own dance academy as she was originally a dance teacher before. She also recently launched the OSO content studio for brands and creators. The 39-year-old said she was 'smart enough' to launch her own business following the show, using it as a 'stepping stone'. View More » She went on to say 'I do dip my toe into the celebrity world every now and again' but she would rather spend time with her family as she doesn't want to 'chase fame'. Got a story? Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) CELEBRITY Catchphrase has caught out another famous face with a Derry Girls legend getting stumped in the final round. Siobhan McSweeney, who played Sister George Michael in the beloved Channel 4 comedy, appeared on the ITV gameshow hosted by Stephen Mulhern in a bid to raise money for charity. After making it through to the final round, Siobhan had her skills put to one final test, going against the clock to answer questions on the catchphrase pyramid. Unfortunately, she stumbled right at the Super Catchphrase final question – but would you have any luck? In the clue, three people are exercising next to each other, but while two are doing quite well, a third is looking sad and struggling to keep up and working on bicep curls. On the floor is a painted triangle, square, and circle. Do you get it? Siobhan was unfortunately unable to figure it out in the timeframe, though didn't go home empty handed, earning an incredible £25,000 in the final round. Add that to the £4,500 she had collected already, and that meant she was able to give £29,500 to North London's Maya Centre – a specialist charity offering counselling and holistic support to low-income and minoritised women. After the game was over, host Stephen asked her if she wanted to know what she'd missed out on – but it had already clicked for her. Without the pressure of the clock against her, Siobhan correctly guessed the answer was "Out Of Shape" – as the person struggling was standing outside of the circle in front of them. Watch the moment Nadine Coyle misses out on huge £50k Celebrity Catchphrase prize On top of earning some serious cash for her own charity, Siobhan managed to answer the special double question – meaning that Charlie and Jimmi both got their pot doubled too. Jimmi donated his money Baby Lifeline - which supports frontline NHS staff to prevent injuries and deaths in and around childbirth – while Charlie raised money for breast cancer charity, Future Dreams. 4 The star realised what it meant after the clock ran out Credit: ITV

AN EERIE new AI round for the Miss England pageant has been introduced with "digital twins" of real-life contestants. Hopefuls can now walk down a virtual catwalk and wear just about anything their heart desires all thanks to the power of AI. Organisers behind the famed contest believe it's the first beauty pageant in the world to introduce such a round. Over the course of two-hours, each participant can develop a fully-animated digital clone of themselves, capable of delivering presentations and making virtual appearances. Afton McKeith, daughter of I'm A Celeb star Gillian McKeith, was the first Miss England semi finalist to complete the filming process this week. Advertisement A sample video shows her virtual clone interacting, wearing an array of outfits and even speaking in different languages. "This is not actually me, I am Afton's digital twin," the avatar says. "I have no human needs, no sleep, no stress, no make-up disasters. "Just pure calculated perfection. Advertisement "Very soon digital twins won't be a novelty, they will be attending meetings, handling interviews and running entire lives. "Lets face it, wouldn't you rather send your avatar to your 9am meeting if you could?" mum's an I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! legend. But Afton's more likely to be found backstage at a pageant than in the jungle Miss England has got tech firm MirrorMe on board to make the new round possible. Contestants need to record voiceovers and movements to bring their avatars to life, allowing them to explore how they might represent themselves in future digital interviews, business pitches, or public speaking engagements - with the ability to speak more than 140 languages too. Advertisement The Miss England business avatar round will be one of ten rounds in the next Miss England semi final that contestants can opt to enter. A winner will be judged on the highest combined views for their AI video presentations on the MirrorMe website, Vimeo and YouTube. The real Afton, 25, said: "It's such an exciting honour to be the first Miss England contestant to experience the Avatar Round. "This initiative is a brilliant way to encourage more young women to step into the world of business and technology. Advertisement "A digital twin can be a powerful asset as it allows you to create content that can be reused, save time on filming and even license your likeness to companies for campaigns or educational tools. "It's about working smarter and exploring new ways to build your brand, create income and stay present even when you're not physically available." Angie Beasley, who has run the Miss England competition for 23 years, added: 'Miss England has always been about more than just looks. "With the rise of remote working, AI and virtual platforms, I felt it was time to reflect the world our contestants are stepping into. Advertisement "This round is about confidence, presence and impact — whether you're in the room or on a screen. "It's an empowering way to bridge beauty, brains and modern tech. "This innovative new round opens the door for contestants to embrace technology in a whole new way, highlighting their adaptability, creativity, and communication skills in the digital space." 5 Afton, 25, says it was an 'exciting honour' to be the first Miss England contestant to try it Credit: SWNS Advertisement
