Police stop car and chase driver on M6 - and make a HUGE discovery
Police stopped two cars on the M6 on Monday evening (January 27) before making a huge discovery. Wads of cash totalling £50,000 and £10k worth of cannabis were found stashed in the vehicles by officers.
The first incident occurred at around 5.30pm, when officers from the Roads Crime Team at Lancashire Police stopped a black Seat Ibiza at the Forton Services.
After speaking to the driver, officers rummaged through the car under the misuse of drugs act and found £50,000 in cash stashed in a bag.

The driver, a 32-year-old man from Manchester, was arrested on suspicion of money laundering. He has since been released under investigation.
A short time later, a chase ensued on the motorway involving a Mercedes C class. The driver was requested to stop by officers at junction 34 at around 7.15pm.
Police said the car 'continued travelling at high speed' on the northbound carriageway and was eventually brought to a stop near Carnforth. When the car was searched, around £10,000 worth of cannabis was found in a bag in the boot of the car.
Two men were arrested – a 24-year-man on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply, driving with excess drugs, dangerous driving and failing to stop, and a 25-year-old man on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.
Both remain in custody, Lancashire Police confirmed.

Teens taken to hospital with serious injuries after 'car flips eight times'
Two teenagers suffered serious injuries following a two-car crash. Lancashire Police were called to Rainford Road in Bickerstaffe at around 11pm on Sunday, June 22. A woman in her late teens and a man in his late teens were taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said. The woman remains in hospital at the time of writing. It hit the lamppost and then it flipped seven or eight times before coming to a rest." A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "At around 11pm on Sunday, June 22, we were called to reports of a collision between 2 cars on Rainford Road, Bickerstaffe. "Emergency services attended and a woman in her late teens and a man in his late teens were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The woman remains in hospital at this time." Man kicked medics after pulling baby's oxygen tube
A man who attacked two nurses and a paramedic after pulling an oxygen tube which was connected to an 11-month-old baby has been jailed. Andrew Phillips, 26, became aggressive towards medics while being treated at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on 28 January. Lancashire Police said Phillips "caused chaos" and was believed to have taken cocaine while at the hospital. He was jailed for two years and six months with an extended licence period of 24 months at Preston Crown Court. The force said Phillips tried to enter areas where other patients were being treated and was warned by staff not to go into a cubicle where the baby was receiving care. But Phillips barged past a paramedic and nurse, picked up a chair and threw it out of the cubicle, before falling into and pulling at the IV cable and oxygen tube which were attached to the baby, police said. As the paramedic and two nurses tried to disconnect the tubes to get the baby to safety, he then pulled the arm of one of the nurses, causing a fracture to her arm and wrist. Phillips punched and kicked out at other staff, with another nurse suffering a bruised ankle. Lancashire Police said the baby was unharmed by Phillips' actions. Phillips, of Grange Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm, assault causing actual bodily harm and affray. Det Con Alexa Taylor said: "I hope the sentence sends a clear message that the police and courts will not tolerate disturbances on hospital grounds and attacks on our colleagues within the NHS. "Hospitals, NHS staff and paramedics provide care to the sick, injured and vulnerable, and should not be assaulted or put at risk while they are working." Students build gates to stop anti-social behaviour
Joinery students have been building wooden gates for homes on a town's housing estate as part of a police project to tackle anti-social behaviour. White wooden fences built by those learning the trade at Burnley College have been put up on the front porches of properties to deter people from gathering outside. PC Chris McKee of Lancashire Police said older homeowners on the estate, the location of which has not been revealed, had been concerned about young people "gathering, drinking and smoking" outside their homes and making them feel unsafe. He said the students efforts were a "great example of the local community coming together to tackle anti-social behaviour". PC McKee said the force was also stepping up patrols and working with the housing provider on the estate to install extra security. David Lord, head of construction and engineering at Burnley College, said the students were excited to be part of the project, which can be incorporated into the curriculum. He said it had been an "ideal opportunity for them to put their skills and knowledge into action and create something which will really make a difference to the lives of others".
