Walmart to restock Nintendo Switch 2 tonight – and members get an exclusive perk
If you've been searching desperately for the Nintendo Switch 2, look no further. Walmart has confirmed the exact time you'll be able to buy the console online, and you don't have long to wait as it will restock later today.
Since launch, the Switch 2 has been flying off the shelves. In the U.S. alone, Nintendo sold 1.1 million units during launch week, breaking the PlayStation 4's long-standing debut record. Globally, it racked up 3.5 million sales in just four days, making it the fastest-selling Nintendo console of all time.
It's been near-impossible to find in stock ever since. Most drops sell out within minutes, and Walmart's restock isn't likely to be any different. If you've been refreshing product pages for weeks, or are just fed up watching everyone else play, this might finally be your chance.
Walmart has announced it will be restocking both the standalone Nintendo Switch 2 console and the Mario Kart World bundle today Wednesday 25 June. Paid Walmart+ members will have access one hour earlier than everyone else.
The early access drop kicks off at 9pm ET. While Walmart hasn't officially revealed when it'll open to the general public, it's likely to be 10pm ET, assuming any stock is left. The bundle includes the Nintendo Switch 2 and a copy of Mario Kart World.

A reader examines the pros and cons of the Nintendo Switch 2 launch and argues the 2025 line-up is perfect for casual gamers, even if other fans are disappointed. I think a lot of people are starting to realise that the Nintendo Switch 2 launch has been a bit of a let-down. Only one good game and no clue as to what is happening with most of the big franchises. Literally no clue, because how do you follow up the Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? The formula has already been perfected, so either you reinvent it again or… you do what Nintendo is doing with this year's line-up. I know some fans are holding out for a secret big Christmas game, but I would bet anything there's not going to be one. The games scheduled for this year may look minor and uninteresting to long-time Nintendo fans but I think the truth is they've been very carefully and cleverly chosen. Hardcore fans might be upset at the Switch 2 at the moment, but Nintendo isn't, not with it being the fastest selling console ever, and ordinary people aren't going to be either. Whatever problems you and I might have with Mario Kart World (I'm assuming anyone reading this is at least a relatively hardcore gamer) ordinary people don't see a problem at all. I think that Nintendo might have learned a little to well from Sony and the PlayStation 5. What is the big take away for this generation, from Sony's point of view? That the less you do and say the more you get rewarded. Sony has no competition from Xbox now, so the PlayStation 5 is really the only console to buy. They don't have to do anything to earn people's support, except make less of a mess of things than Xbox, which is not difficult. Nintendo hasn't had any direct competition since the Switch started. If it wasn't for the Wii U you could say they've been untouchable since the Wii in 2006. Nintendo has a captive audience, that likes their stuff and most people are, for good reasons, very happy with how the Switch 1 turned out. So, I really don't see any eventuality where the Switch 2 isn't a massive success or, I should say, doesn't continue to be a massive success. The Switch 2 could probably go its whole generation just being the Mario Kart machine, which the Switch 1 pretty much did. Obviously, there will be other games, they've got Donkey Kong in just a few weeks, but Mario Kart and whatever Mario game they release to tie into the new movie next year is going to keep Nintendo execs in unicorn pâté for a long time to come. What I'm saying, is that we need to calm down a bit with wild expectations and then getting upset because those, completely made-up, expectations don't come true. Nintendo's in no hurry with any of this. They don't want to cannibalise sales of the games they've got out this year, which include a Donkey Kong game (that seems close to being a 3D Mario), a Zelda game, a Pokémon game, a Kirby game, and a new Metroid Prime. The Zelda and Pokémon ones are spin-offs, that might not be that great, and I'm not sure anyone cares about Kirby, but on top of that you've got new content for Super Mario Party Jamboree and Kirby And The Forgotten Land this year. That really is all the big hitters, in some form or another, and while hardcore gamers can pick problems with all of them (even Metroid Prime 4, in the sense that it's still basically a Switch 1 game) that is not going to matter to casual gamers. Your average parent looking to see whether the Switch 2 is worth getting their kids for Christmas is going to see it has all these major franchises represented right from the start and they're going to think it's a worthwhile investment. They're not going to complain about the screen not being OLED or whether Game-Key Cards are a good idea, they're going to care that it has all the games their kids like and, despite what they've heard, none of them are £80. 'We blindly spent £1.5k on storage unit and hit the jackpot with items inside'
Storage unit buyer, Wade Coggins couldn't believe his luck after his wife opened their newly-purchased container to reveal scores of boxes of valuable retro goods An American couple who splashed out around £1,500 on a storage unit with very little prior knowledge of what was inside were left stunned after being handed the keys. Wade Coggins took to TikTok to showcase their new possessions, after finding the unit's interior rammed full with goods. "We spent over $2,000 on this 10x20x10 [feet container] and we hit the jackpot," he enthused in a video. "It might not look special, but wait until you see what's inside." The clip revealed dozens of boxes – of which Wade admitted he knew barely anything about. Heading towards the back of the unit, Wade opened up a folder filled with Pokémon cards. "All these are from 1999," he hailed. "There's not one newer than that." He then moved on to a box containing hundreds more cards from the same year. Next, Wade came across a brand new boxed Nintendo Wii U, before revealing: "There's a lot of game machines in here, but I've only been through around 2% of the unit so far." An old plastic Nintendo case was next to be opened, this time containing a series of 1980s NES cartridges. "They're in really good shape," Wade said, noting Godzilla and Zelda II The Adventure of Link as particular points of interest. More Nintendo boxes followed, alongside Apple computers as Wade opened up another box full of consoles, this time Nintendo 64s and Wiis. "There's a lot of electronics here, including monitors," he said. "They definitely loved video games." Wade then spotted further boxes of retro gaming goods - namely Sega Dreamcast and Sony PlayStation 3 content - before non-electric toys caught his eye. "Wow look at that," he exclaimed, holding aloft a large Star Wars AT-AT Walker toy and an unopened Lego set. Next came a Nintendo DS handheld console, a series of laptop computers and a large box full of old PC games including Sonic the Hedgehog and The Sims. "I think there's some money here," Wade said. Still he wasn't done though - revealing the contents of another box to be a Star Wars edition of an Xbox One console. "I'll show you one more box," he concluded, admitting he didn't have the time to go through everything - and in fact was only around 5% of the way through the process. This time it contained a variety of items - yet more Pokémon cards, video games and other boxed games including Jenga. The reaction to the couple's purchase proved to be mixed, however. Writing in response, one TikTok user urged: "Please, please get a retro professional to help you with this stuff, some of its incredibly valuable especially if you don't open the boxes." A second added: "What you showed is at least 20k." Whilst a third declared: "That collection is insane. Either they were a major collector, or they had an indie game store because that is so much stuff!" Others confessed to feeling sorry for the previous owner, however, one of whom penned: "My stomach is turning... how long was this abandoned? You should try to at least contact the prior owner. This feels wrong in so many ways." Another concurred: "Used to enjoy watching this kind of content until it sank in there's probably a really sad story behind why these are being sold off, no issue with the buyers but I can't watch them any more." And a third person agreed: "This is so sad to me. That is all someone's prized processions. All their treasures and hard work sold for nothing for someone else to profit. No hate for buying it. I just feel for the original owner."
