Man charged with murder of British student nurse
Londoner Elizabeth Odunsi, 23, known to friends and family as Tami, was found with multiple stab wounds on the kitchen floor of a property on 26 April, Houston Police said.
Chester Lamar Grant, 40, was arrested on Friday and later charged after he was taken to hospital in a critical condition following the incident in Goforth Street, Houston, the force said.
Detectives were called to the property above an apartment complex for a welfare check and did not receive an answer when they knocked on the door, according to police.

The force said that as well as discovering the body of Ms Odunsi when they entered the address, officers also found a man in a bedroom with at least one stab wound.
An online appeal to bring Ms Odunsi back to the UK from the US has raised more than £65,000.
Organisers have asked for "help to give her the peaceful and dignified farewell she deserves".
The 23-year-old went by the name of Tami Dollars on the social media platform TikTok and had amassed more than 45,000 followers.

Potential fraud victim warns about ‘jury duty scam' that almost stole her money: ‘So convincing'
Victims of these court clerk-impersonating con artists are pleading for justice. People have been receiving calls from scammers saying that they've missed jury duty and there's a warrant out for their arrest. 'The victim will get called by the scammer saying that they missed jury duty, and they're demanding money through either wire transfer or gift cards or something like that,' Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Neil Johnston said in a statement. 'That should be the first red flag right there. Never give anybody money that you don't know exactly who they are or your personal information.' Johnston noted that these scams tend to target people of more vulnerable ages. One fifth-grade teacher on TikTok shared a video PSA about the scam after she was 'almost victim to' it. Mrs. Tait received a call with no caller ID — which she said was her first red flag — and the person 'kept calling and calling and calling.' She finally answered the phone, and the person on the other end claimed to be with the local sheriff's office. They had her name and address and claimed that she failed to appear in front of a jury. The caller claimed she received a summons through certified mail that someone signed for, and she had citations for failure to appear in court. 'If you fail to appear [for jury duty], it will always come in the mail,' she explained. 'Sometimes deputies will call you for witness stuff, and they will do the no caller ID just to protect their safety. But they were like, 'That's an absolute scam.'' 7-year-old boy attacked and killed by pack of nine dogs, Alabama cops say
Nine dogs have been euthanized in connection with the killing of a 7-year-old boy in Alabama, according to investigators. The pack included multiple breeds, some weighing up to 60 pounds, and their remains are being sent for 'testing as part of the investigation,' the Chilton County Sheriff's Office said in a news release posted to Facebook. Investigators say the boy was attacked around 6 p.m. July 22 as he rode a four-wheeler, and his grandmother was bitten trying to save him. Details of her injuries were not released. 'The owner of the dogs is cooperating fully,' the sheriff's office said. 'These animals were not stray dogs; they belonged to a local resident and were kept on private property prior to the incident.' The attack happened on a sparsely populated dirt road near Calera, about a 35-mile drive south from Birmingham, officials say.
