Beloved Alameda police K-9 ‘Argo' passes away
During his years of service, police said Argo was involved in numerous community events, operations and narcotic detections along with his handler, Officer Dubon. Argo also won numerous awards for his tracking skills.

Additionally, Argo played a 'significant role' in resolving numerous cases in Alameda, police said.
Following his retirement, Argo enjoyed his days with his handlers' family, which were 'filled with love, many exciting jumps into pools, and a relaxing life as a beloved companion,' police said.
'We are forever grateful for K-9 Argo's service and the bond he shared with our department and the community,' police said. 'K-9 Argo will always be in our hearts and his legacy will never be forgotten.'
Argo passed away from an incurable genetic condition, police said.

Motorcycle rider killed in east Wichita crash
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash with another vehicle Saturday evening in east Wichita. 2 stabbed in violent food court altercation inside Southern California mall
Two people were stabbed inside a mall in Carson after what reportedly started as a verbal altercation escalated Sunday, authorities confirmed to KTLA. Deputies with the L.A. County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of the stabbing at around 2 p.m. at the South Bay Pavillion Mall, located at 20700 Avalon Boulevard. Details are limited and it's unclear exactly what sparked the verbal altercation in the mall's food court, though investigators said it quickly turned into a physical altercation that left two people with stab wounds. Deadly crash on I-15 near Carmel Mountain Ranch prompts lane closure
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A major crash thwarted traffic on southbound Interstate 15 near Carmel Mountain Ranch on Sunday morning, prompting a temporary lane closure and leaving at least one person dead, authorities said. According to California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just before 9 a.m. near Camino del Norte and involved four vehicles. Initial reports indicated that three vehicles were involved in a crash in the carpool lane when a fourth vehicle collided with one of the already-disabled cars. The impact contributed to the severity of the incident. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP confirmed. Authorities have not confirmed whether that individual is included in the total number of injuries, which may be as high as nine.
