I had to wash my hair every day in summer but miracle £7 shampoo means it never gets greasy & is a beauty game-changer
But if you're anything like me, you'll struggle to keep your hair tamed in the heat.

Typically, the ends of my hair end up dry and frizzy, while the top half ends up a sweaty, greasy mess from the heat.
Unfortunately, this means that I end up having to wash my hair every single evening, especially as my fringe has the tendency to stick to my forehead due to the grease.
But there are plenty of options to keep your hair from getting oily as quickly, so I decided to put them to the test.
There is shampoo specifically dedicated for oily scalps, pre-shampoo treatments and hair refreshers to instantly banish grease.
So, with that being said, Fabulous Reporter Leanne Hall put them to the test to see which worked best.
The Everyday-er
The Kérastase Genesis duo is designed for those with normal to oily hair in mind.
The shampoo has a nice lather to it and doesn't dry the hair out, making it perfect for regular use.
I noticed my hair didn't get as greasy as quickly, but it's gentler than others I tried and didn't keep my hair grease-free for days.
The conditioner was also lovely and instantly detangled my hair and left it frizz-free.
The only downside of this is the price, at £64 I can't say it's something I would rush to grab again.
My hair's so thin you can see my scalp but miracle £8 buy fixes it in seconds
When You're In Big Trouble
There aren't many 'oily hair' shampoos that actually leave your scalp squeaky clean, but this one did not disappoint.
After a particularly hot day outside, my hair looked practically wet from the grease so I figured it was the perfect time to test it out.
I was stunned by how quickly this £15.50 shampoo got to work, before I even started my second wash, my scalp already felt fresh and clean.
While this was effective and kept my hair oil-free for days, I can imagine this would be too harsh to use every hair wash day, so I'd recommend using it once a week or every fortnight as a detoxifying shampoo.
The Extra Step
Scalp care is a beauty trend we're all hearing more about these days and this product targets the scalp directly.
The salicylic acid in this £15 scalp treatment helps to remove build-up from products and any dead skin flakes and balances oil level production on the scalp.
I put this on my scalp after wetting my hair and let it sit for ten minutes.
While washing it off, I felt my scalp was much fresher and it created the perfect clean surface to then apply my shampoo for the ultimate deep clean.
One thing I noticed is that because this is a liquid product, it easily ended up getting into my mouth which wasn't pleasant.
Hairstyles that are kind to your locks
Loose Braids: Opt for loose, soft braids rather than tight ones to minimise tension on the scalp and reduce breakage.
Low Ponytail: A low ponytail is less stressful on your hair compared to high, tight ponytails. Use a fabric-covered hair tie to avoid snagging.
Messy Bun: A relaxed, messy bun can be both stylish and kind to your hair. Avoid pulling your hair too tightly and use gentle hair ties.
Soft Waves: Embrace your natural texture or use heatless methods to create soft waves, reducing the need for damaging heat styling tools.
Half-Up, Half-Down: This style keeps some hair pulled back while leaving the rest down, reducing the strain on your scalp.
Headbands and Scarves: Using headbands or scarves can keep hair out of your face without causing damage, and they can be quite fashionable.
Loose Plaits for Sleeping: Before bed, loosely plait your hair to prevent tangles and breakage overnight.
Ultimate Refresher
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Dry Shampoo, £25
This dry shampoo is pricey at £25, but it's one of the best on the market.
It's the perfect product for when you're hair is beyond greasy but you really can't be bothered to give t a wash.
I applied it at a 20cm distance from my hair, focusing on the roots and left it to soak in for ten minutes before giving it a brush.
It instantly absorbed all of the oil without leaving a gross sticky residue on my scalp.
Not only did it get rid of the grease, it left my hair looking and smelling fresh for two more days.
This is a must-have for any summer festivals, weekend breaks or on the go if you're not feeling a full wash routine.
Prevention Taken
This £17.99 scalp serum can be used daily on dry hair and while most serums have an oil to them, this one actually helps get rid of oil.
I didn't see a dramatic change to my oil levels immediately, but I did find that the longer I used it, the less often I noticed my fringe going greasy and sticking to my forehead.
One thing to be careful of is that using too much can make your roots feel heavy.
THE WINNER
Fresh For Days
Neutrogena T/Gel Anti Dandruff Shampoo, £6.99
This Neutrogena shampoo turned out to be the best out of the bunch and the most cost-effective at just £6.99.
It immediately made my hair feel less greasy, removed build-up and my hair didn't get greasy even in the summer heat for about four days, which is practically unheard of.
While it is powerful at cleaning the scalp, it didn't dry it out and was relatively cheap too.
This is perfect to use for every hair wash day during the summer and as a weekly deep clean in winter.

Tina O'Brien is 'getting serious' with new boyfriend Adam Fadlé nine months after split from husband of seven years Adam Crofts
Tina O'Brien is reportedly getting 'serious' with new boyfriend Adam Fadle - nine months after split from husband Adam Crofts. The Corrie star, 41, and the interior design mogul, 38, attended Jack P. Shepherd's star-studded wedding on Saturday (July 26) as they made their first public appearance together. And after being spotted packing on the PDA after the event, sources now claim things are moving quickly between the pair - and marriage might not be far off the table, according to OK! A guest at the wedding told the publication : 'There was no mistaking they were an item on the day.' They added: 'Tina dotes on him - she loves that he's very calm and is a real gentleman, in every way. 'She's head over heels. This is no flash in the pan relationship, they're getting serious.' DailyMail has contacted Tina's representative for comment. It comes after Tina looked happier than ever as she passionately kissed Adam while departing Jack's wedding in the early hours on Sunday. The pair looked more loved-up than ever as they packed on the PDA as they exited the wedding reception. The couple reportedly met through friends in their home town of Cheshire this summer and have been on a string of dates. Tina looked sensational as she went braless under a pretty blue and white backless floral dress which boated a daring plunging neckline. She elevated her frame in a pair of pink heels and toted her belongings in a white handbag while Adam donned a smart navy suit with a white shirt. The couple couldn't keep their hands off each other as they kissed while waiting for their taxi to head back to their Manchester hotel. Adam - who bears a striking resemblance to her ex - is the founder of interior design firm Panoramic Properties, which boasts big names including Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo as clients. Tina and Adam were all smiles as they walked holding hands following the night celebrating her co-star Jack and his new wife Hanni Treweek. Earlier in the day, Jack and Hanni tied the knot at Manchester Cathedral, just over one year after he popped the question while on safari in Tanzania, Africa, before having a wedding reception at a nearby hotel. Last month a source told The Sun of Tina's new romance: 'Tina fell out of love with one Adam and then fell in love with another. 'She's been on a few dates with him and they've been very open with their relationship. They were out last week snogging like teenagers and they've been seen walking her dog by locals. 'Tina looked totally mad for Adam and they couldn't keep their hands off each other.' MailOnline contacted Tina's representatives for comment at the time. It was revealed earlier this year that the Corrie star had split from her husband after weeks of speculation. The estranged couple, who share ten-year-old son Beau, are said to be 'on good terms' for the sake of their son but their differing lifestyles reportedly drove them apart. They pair first met in a Manchester coffee shop in 2011 and the couple tied the knot in a surprise NYE ceremony in 2018. The star - who plays Sarah Platt in the ITV show - first sparked split rumours when she shared a photograph of herself at co-star Colson Smith's leaving party in Manchester. Taking to Instagram, Tina cut a glamorous figure in a red mini dress and posed with a bare ring finger on display, just weeks after jetting off on holiday without Crofts. She further fuelled the speculation as she was seen with a notably bare finger while out for a cup of tea in Cheshire. Friends then revealed the split as they said: 'Tina and Adam have ended their relationship and are spending some time apart. 'They moved house at Christmas and have decided to live separately for the time being. The insider told The Sun: 'Adam and Tina lead very different lives - he is really into his fitness, while she really enjoys going out with her mates and having a dance, which just isn't for him. 'It wasn't an issue at first because they were head over heels, but as the kids have started to grow up it's become more noticeable. Adam likes a quiet life and unfortunately that just isn't Tina.'
