Crooner Paolo, 38, worked in the iconic restaurant as a teenager before launching his successful music career.
Alfredo is handing over the reins to a colleague as he has decided to retire and have a "well-earned rest".
BBC journalist Billy Sloan joined Paolo for the final fish supper served by his dad.
Sharing a picture of the moment, he wrote on Instagram: "LAST night I was invited out to dinner by Paolo Nutini, but it was a dinner with a difference.
"I was honoured to be served the final fish supper by the singer's father Alfredo in Castelvecchi, the famous family chippy in Paisley.
"After 53 faithful years at his fish fryer he's retiring and is finally taking a well earned rest to spend more time with his lovely wife, Linda.
"Castelvecchi takes its name from Alfredo's Italian grandfather. It started as a single-storey shop - with a THATCHED roof - in 1914 and has been run by the family for a staggering 111 years.
"But the place is NOT closing down. Alfredo is handing the chip basket over to a colleague and it will be business as usual.
"The old fashioned style chippy is brilliant. It's no surprise that the beautiful interior has been used for several movies and TV dramas over the years. And what was on the menu?
"Paolo tucked into haddock 'n' chips... with a side of a single hamburger and a dish of curry sauce for dipping.

"While I also demolished a haddock supper - plus a few pickled onions - with a deep fried black pudding chaser. Paolo looked like he hadn't gained an ounce in weight … but I had to loosen my belt a wee notch.
"My plan to have a quick kebab on the way up the road was swiftly abandoned. I couldn't even have eaten an After Eight mint. I was stuffed.
"The diet definitely starts tomorrow. My thanks to Paolo and the Nutini clan for a brilliant night. And it was great to be part of a wee bit of Paisley history.
"Check out Castelvecchi - at No. 10 New Street - it's dynamite!"
Punters flocked to the comments to react to the bittersweet announcement.
One wrote: "A brilliant spot for a 'sit doon'! End of an era."
Another said: "This is brilliant, a great way to mark a cultural legacy."
A third added: "Absolutely brilliant, I put on half a stone just looking at that!"
Rangers legend Ally McCoist weighed in: "Superb."
The chippy boasts a 4.5 star rating on TripAdvisor, where punters call it an "excellent traditional fish and chip shop" and an "utter classic".
One chart-topping singer was recently spotted popping in for lunch before a gig in Paisley town centre.

'Influencer' who garnered more than 165,000 followers while 'enjoying Wimbledon' is revealed as an AI creation
She has 165,000 followers on Instagram and recently posted images showing her enjoying the tennis at Wimbledon. But the 'model' whose social media persona became an internet sensation at the championships was actually created by AI. The posts on Mia Zelu's Instagram page were so carefully curated that they hoodwinked more than 40,000 people into liking her pictures and leaving comments in the belief that she was real and at the tournament. With images of her on Centre Court or enjoying a Pimm's, even Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant was taken in. The 27-year-old was at Wimbledon but discovered the account he had liked was a fake one and quickly deleted all of his interactions with it. The online comments by Zelu, who embodied the quintessential Wimbledon look of summery dresses and golden tan, reflect the language used by actual Instagram influencers. In one she asks her followers: 'Which Wimbledon match was your fave?' Despite not actually being at the tournament, Zelu also remarked: 'Still not over the event... but the party's a whole other game.' Her creators, who remain anonymous, explain in a profile that she is an 'AI storyteller', adding she has a sister called 'Ana' with 266,000 followers on her account. Despite the clear indication that the account is not that of a real person, Zelu's followers still send her messages – including proposals of marriage.

Julie posted a photo of the newly engaged couple smiling after her son popped the question. In the image, Brooke placed her hand on her fiancé's chest to show off her stunning oval diamond ring. 'Lots to celebrate and look forward to in the Goodwin and Taylor households,' she captioned the post. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. MasterChef star Julie Goodwin (pictured) shared some exciting family news with her fans on Sunday Julie's exciting announcement comes just days after she issued a statement defending her weight loss after fans raised concerns about her health. Julie shared an update on Instagram after a new photo, in which she looked very slim, was posted to her account. Her dramatic transformation led to comments from worried followers. 'Thanks to all who have expressed concern about my health. I am well and I am within the healthy weight range. My doctor concurs,' she wrote. 'For those who have asked me for advice or tips, I am not qualified to provide this. It's advice that should be sought from your trusted health professionals, not from me. I'm a TV cook,' Julie continued. 'For those who want to comment on the shape and condition of my body please, do it on your own page because I'm tired of reading it. For that reason I'll be turning off comments on this post. 'For all of us can we please find something more interesting to talk about. Can we please model kindness to our kids and grandkids and can we please leave this obsession with people's looks back in the 1980s. Peace and love.' Julie was prompted to speak out after a selfie shared this week led to comments inquiring about whether she is 'sick'. 'I'm actually concerned... to be honest, but if you are healthy and well there is nothing to worry about,' one fan commented. 'Oh Julie…. too much weight loss,' another chimed in, while one more said, 'She is sick. She looks shocking.' 'Julie you are awesome, but are you okay?' someone else asked, with one more posting, 'Are you okay Julie? You don't look okay. Hope there's nothing wrong.' 'She looks like a skeleton,' one more person wrote, with yet another saying, 'OMG you look so ill.' Others defended Julie, with one person writing, 'Love how people speculate she is on the jabs. My bet is she is looking after herself and eating the right foods.' 'OMG Julie you look amazing! You have a beautiful smile. Keep shining!' another said. One more chimed in: 'Can everyone stop commenting on Julie's weight and telling her she's too thin? All you're doing is projecting on her what YOU think she should look like. If she had always looked like this, no-one would say anything. 'Just be happy for her that she's happy, her doctor's happy, and she's healthy!' Julie recently revealed she had lost more weight following her dramatic 'accidental' transformation, which saw her drop a whopping 20kg almost a decade ago.
