Borussia Mönchengladbach's Ko Itakura appears headed to Frankfurt
The SGE must compensate for the presumed loss of long time defensive stalwart Tuta, who is being heavily linked with an exit. Itakura has been linked with a move to a whole plethora of Bundesliga sides, including Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund at one point.

Gladbach remain eager to complete Itakura's sale in order to raise capital and pursue their own summer transfer needs. Though the 28-year-old only maintains an estimated €12m market value, the foals can easily secure several million more for him.
Itakura just completed a highly successful season in which he scored three of his career six Bundesliga goals. A €15-20m price tag seems reasonable.

Manchester City prospect set for immediate loan after joining Bayer Leverkusen
Sport Bild reports that Manchester City prospect Farid Alfa-Ruprecht is set for an immediate loan out after joining Bayer Leverkusen. The Hamburg-native is still set to join the Bundesliga outfit on a permanent basis. The German tabloid does not specify where the 19-year-old might be headed. Alfa-Ruprecht is one among many developmental prospects Leverkusen have acquired this summer. Defenders Axel Tape (17) Abdoulaye Faye (20) also joined Germany's red company team. The purchase of Cameroonian striker Christian Kofane was sealed earlier today. Advertisement Leverkusen have also immediately loaned out defender Tim Oermann (Strum Graz) while organizing loan outs for previously acquired prospects Francis Onyeka (Bochum) and Artem Stepanov (Nürnberg). Alfa-Ruprecht – like Kofane – nevertheless constitutes a serious investment. Like Kofane, the teenage talent will cost die Werkself a fee in the neighborhood of €5m. In Kofane's case, however, Leverkusen appear to feel comfortable keeping the rapid riser on the first team squad. GGFN | Peter Weis

Bayern Munich submit opening offer for Nick Woltemade
Bayern Munich have made their first formal move to sign Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade with an opening bid, according to Sky Germany. Bayern's opening bid is reported to be a guaranteed €40 million to be paid in four installments plus €5 million in bonuses. Advertisement Stuttgart immediately rejected the offer, deeming it well below their valuation of the player, with the Bundesliga setting their asking price at around €80 million to reflect Woltemade's importance after a standout season. The 23-year-old scored 17 times in 33 games across all competitions last season and helped Stuttgart to a DFB Pokal title. Woltemade also starred during the Under-21 European Championships with six goals and three assists, although Germany were beaten in the final by England. The gap between Bayern's offer and Stuttgart's demands at the moment is significant, suggesting that negotiations may continue for some time. Advertisement Bayern are expected to increase their offer, although it remains to be seen how high the Bundesliga champions are willing to go. Woltemade is under contract with Stuttgart for three more years and does not have a release clause, giving the club leverage in negotiations. The striker has reportedly turned down offers from other interested clubs, making it clear his preference is a move to Bayern Munich. Bayern have a verbal agreement with Woltemade, who has already agreed personal terms for a five-year contract. A player-plus-cash deal could aid Bayern's pursuit of Woltemade going forward, but Stuttgart are not entertaining that idea at the moment despite their reported interest in Paul Wanner.

Newcastle United Remain Keen On Signing This Bundesliga Talent: Good Choice For Howe?
In a recent post on X, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Newcastle United remain keen on signing Eintracht Frankfurt talent Hugo Ekitike. It has been mentioned that the Magpies are eyeing a move to bring the French forward to St. James' Park this summer. Ekitike's Impressive Form In French Football The Reims-born striker enjoyed a decent campaign at the French club as he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. Ekitike banged in 22 goals and grabbed 12 assists in 48 matches for Eintracht Frankfurt last season in all competitions. Advertisement The 23-year-old led the line well and deserves credit for averaging 4.0 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He kept 38.6% of his attempts on target. Ekitike even distributed possession relatively well in the opponent's half, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 75.5% in the German first division (stats via Ekitike is under contract at the German club until the summer of 2029. Therefore, the Magpies would have to make a big offer if they are serious about recruiting the French striker this off-season. FRANKFURT AM MAIN, GERMANY – MARCH 01: Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt reacts during the Bundesliga match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer 04 Leverkusen at Deutsche Bank Park on March 01, 2025 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. (Photo by) Is Ekitike A Good Choice For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe? Ekitike excels at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field. Standing at 1.90m, Ekitike can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels. Advertisement The French sensation is even quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent's penalty area. He has been a consistent goalscorer in the Bundesliga but there are some concerns over whether he would be able to handle the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Newcastle manage to snap him up this summer. Ekitike would inject more firepower into Eddie Howe's attacking department. He could even go on to form a productive partnership with Alexander Isak at the Tyneside club. At 23, Ekitike has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a decent choice for the Magpies to consider in this summer transfer window. However, Howe would need to give him some time before he can get the best out of the talented striker at St. James' Park.
