Officials said the improvements will help maintain the architectural integrity of the theatre, which was built in Marietta in 1935.
'The Strand is not just a stage—it's a living landmark that connects generations through the arts,' Taylor Rambo, Development Director of The Strand, said. 'Thanks to Fox Gives and our community of supporters, we can continue our mission of entertainment, education, preservation, and being a true community cornerstone.'
This year's grant is the third time Fox Gives has provided funding to the Strand, adding up to more than $80,000 in support, according to the theatre.
'The preservation of this building is truly an ongoing effort,' Leigh Burns, Director of Community Partnerships at the Fox Theatre, said. 'We applaud the dedication of every supporter—both those in the room and the countless individuals who've championed this theatre over the past two decades.'
More broadly, Fox Gives has provided $4.2 million in direct grants since its start in 2008.

Jimmy Fallon slams CBS for canning Stephen Colbert, jokes he may be next on chopping block

'Tonight Show' star Jimmy Fallon quipped he may be the next late-night host to get canned as he blasted CBS for pulling the plug on Stephen Colbert. 'I am your host. Well, at least for tonight,' Fallon said during Monday's monologue. Fallon, who made a cameo appearance on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' on Monday in a show of support for his longtime rival, also took aim at CBS and its parent company Paramount Global. Advertisement 'Everybody is talking about CBS' decision to end 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert',' Fallon said, before setting up his next joke by claiming many viewers are 'now threatening to boycott the network.' 'CBS could lose millions of viewers, plus tens of hundreds watching on Paramount+.' 4 Jimmy Fallon, host of NBC's 'Tonight Show,' reacted to CBS's decision to cancel rival Stephen Colbert's 'Late Show.' NBC Advertisement The former 'SNL' star also quipped: 'These are crazy times. This morning my dad called me and said he's officially a Kimmel guy,' referring to the third member of the late-night fraternity, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel. Fallon went on to praise Colbert's contributions to late-night television while taking a shot at President Trump. 'Stephen has done years of incredibly smart and hilarious television, and he's won 10 Emmys,' Fallon said. Advertisement 'Trump heard and was like, 'Big deal, last week I just won a FIFA World Cup trophy.'' The joke was a reference to Trump's appearance alongside members of the Chelsea soccer team after it captured the FIFA World Cup championship at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey last week. 4 'Stephen has done years of incredibly smart and hilarious television, and he's won 10 Emmys,' Fallon said. Colbert is seen above. CBS Fallon — whose contract with NBC runs through 2028 — had previously released a written statement on the cancellation of Colbert's show, saying: 'I'm just as shocked as everyone. Stephen is one of the sharpest, funniest hosts to ever do it. I really thought I'd ride this out with him for years to come.' Advertisement His remarks Monday came on the heels of scathing commentary from Jon Stewart and Colbert himself, both of whom criticized CBS and Paramount for the decision to end the top-rated late-night show. While CBS has maintained that the cancellation was 'purely a financial decision' unrelated to the show's performance, others have voiced skepticism. 4 Protesters are seen outside the Ed Sullivan Theater in Manhattan on Monday denouncing CBS. REUTERS Lawmakers, media observers, union leaders and fellow late-night hosts questioned the timing and motivations behind the move — particularly in light of Paramount Global's recent $16 million settlement with Donald Trump and its pending $8 billion merger with Skydance Media. Three days before getting axed, Colbert had criticized the Trump settlement on air, calling it a 'big fat bribe.' Critics have accused Paramount and CBS of yielding to political pressure from Trump in an attempt to secure favorable regulatory treatment from the Federal Communications Commission, which is reviewing its long-stalled $8 billion merger with Skydance Media. 4 Jon Stewart of Comedy Central's 'Daily Show' also came to Colbert's defense. AP Sen. Elizabeth Warren was among those who voiced concern, posting on X: 'CBS canceled Colbert's show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS owner Paramount for its $16 M settlement with Trump… America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.' Advertisement Skydance CEO David Ellison — whose company is seeking to merge with Paramount — recently met with FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and promised that the combined media entity would reflect 'the varied ideological perspectives of American viewers.' The meeting has only fueled speculation that Colbert's ouster was intended to neutralize a high-profile Trump critic ahead of the FCC's ruling. CBS has not publicly responded to Fallon's comments. Paramount Global also has not issued a statement in response to Stewart or Colbert's criticisms. Colbert took over hosting duties of the 'Late Show' from David Letterman in 2015

Here's your development round-up. 🎬 Tyler Perry Land: The Atlanta-based media mogul is planning an entertainment district totaling up to 1.3 million square feet on 38 acres he owns at Fort McPherson, according to a state filing. The property is adjacent to Perry's 330-acre studio complex. Did Donald Trump keep the FIFA Club World Cup trophy? U.S. president says Chelsea given replica, pockets medal

U.S. president Donald Trump quite literally stook centre-stage following the final of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup on July 13. Trump joined FIFA chief Gianni Infantino in the middle of the MetLife Stadium pitch as Chelsea were crowned world champions following their shock 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the final. He then decided to stand with the players as they lifted the trophy, despite Infantino's attempts to intervene and some bemused looks on the faces of Cole Palmer and Reece James. There was even a moment where it seemed Trump would try to lift the trophy alongside the Chelsea captain. Whether he truly wanted to share in the Blues' moment of glory is not entirely clear, but Trump certainly seems to be a big fan of the Tiffany-designed trophy itself. Indeed, he claims he will be keeping it. MORE:Reece James reveals what Donald Trump said to him during trophy lift Did Donald Trump keep the FIFA Club World Cup trophy? In an interview conducted with DAZN, the global Club World Cup broadcaster, Trump claimed Chelsea were given a replica of the expanded tournament's new trophy and that he would be keeping the real one in the White House. It was unveiled at a special event in the Oval Office back in March, at which point it took pride of place on a plinth. Apparently, it will be staying there. "I said, 'When are you going to pick up the trophy?' [They said] 'We're never going to pick it up. You can have it forever in the Oval Office. We're making a new one,'" Trump said. "And they actually made a new one. So, that was quite exciting, but it is in the Oval [Office] right now." This is not an entirely irregular thing to see. These days, national teams that win the FIFA World Cup do not keep the real trophy; rather, they are given a replica for things like celebratory tours, while the original returns to the FIFA World Football Museum in Zurich, Switzerland after the tournament ends. However, allowing the head of state of the host nation to maintain possession of a trophy takes things to a different extreme. And it's not the only token Trump is said to have received. Did Donald Trump get a Club World Cup medal? During the trophy ceremony, Infantino was seen to hand a spare winners' medal to Trump after the Chelsea players and staff had been presented with theirs. Video footage shows the U.S. president folded up the ribbon and put the medal in his jacket pocket. FIFA has not commented on whether a medal was intended to be a gift for Trump.
