🌟The Bright Side: Tom Felton returns as Harry Potter's Draco Malfoy in Broadway show
'Being a part of the 'Harry Potter' films has been one of the greatest honours of my life. Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in 'Cursed Child' this fall, I'll also be the exact age Draco is in the play,' Felton, currently 37, said in a statement.
Felton will be making his Broadway debut in the role, beginning performances at the Lyric Theatre on November 11 and playing through March 22, 2026.
Malfoy was Potter's nemesis in the books and eight movies, but in the play – set 19 years after the events of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' – Potter's son Albus becomes friends with Malfoy's son Scorpius at Hogwarts.
It will mark the first time a member of the 'Harry Potter' film cast has joined the stage production.
Felton made his West End debut in 2022, starring in '2:22 A Ghost Story' and in 2024 was in Gareth Farr's play 'A Child of Science' at the Bristol Old Vic. His movie credits include 'They Will Kill You,' opposite Patricia Arquette, and 'Fackham Hall' with Damian Lewis.

Emma Watson and Harry Potter co-star receive driving bans for speeding
'Harry Potter' star Emma Watson has been banned from driving for six months. The British actress, who played Hermione Grainger in the wizarding franchise, was caught speeding one evening in Oxford in July last year. According to the magistrates court in High Wycombe, the 35-year-old, drove her Audi S3 at 61kmh in a 50kmh zone. She already had nine points on her driving licence. In Britain, if you accumulate 12 points within a three year period, you can be disqualified from sitting behind the wheel for at least six months. Watson also received a fine of €1,152 and did not attend the five-minute hearing on Wednesday. It's unclear how the ruling will affect her ability to continue studying at the University of Oxford for a master's degree in creative writing. She started the course in 2023. In a quirky coincidence for law enforcement, Watson's former co-star Zoe Wanamaker was also penalised for excess speed by the same court and also didn't appear before judges. The 76-year-old actress, who played Madam Hooch in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, was caught speeding in August last year in the town of Newbury in Berkshire. The magistrates' were told that she was driving her Volvo at 74kmh in a 70kmh zone. Like Watson, she too had nine points on her licence and was fined €1,152 and given a a six-month ban.

No magic fix: 'Harry Potter' stars banned from driving
Watson, 35, who played Hermione Granger, the friend of boy wizard Potter in the hugely popular movie franchise, was banned for driving at 38 miles (61 km) an hour in a 30-mile zone in southeastern Banbury last July. Zoe Wanamaker, 76, who played Quidditch teacher Madame Hooch in "Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone", was banned for six months for her offence. She had been caught driving at 46 miles an hour in a 40-mile zone of the M4 motorway in southeastern Berkshire last August. The cases were dealt with separately by a lower magistrates court in the town of High Wycombe. Neither of the stars attended the hearings, at which they were each fined £1,044 ($1,400). Watson, who was stopped while driving her blue Audi, has been studying at Oxford University. Her lawyer told the court that although she was a student "she is in a position to pay the fine".

Take a first look at the new Harry Potter
HBO has officially started production on the highly anticipated yet controversial Harry Potter TV series adaptation and has revealed a first look at the titular character. The photo released by HBO shows 11-year-old Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, donning the signature Hogwarts uniform paired with round-rim glasses and a lightning bolt scar. Une publication partagée par HBO Max (@hbomax) Reactions to the photo were broadly positive. On fan wrote: 'He looks great as Harry! Pls protect him from the internet trolls.' 'He's freaking adorable,' another said, while one fan commented: 'So cute omg, I hate that J.K. (Rowling) is involved in that, poor baby,' referring to the author's role as an executive producer in the series. Some fans have objected to Rowling's involvement due to views she has expressed on transgender rights. Last month, renowned British actor, author and broadcaster Stephen Fry labelled Rowling a 'lost cause' and stated that she has been 'radicalised by TERFs' - the acronym that stands for 'trans-exclusionary radical feminist'. Some commenters did voice off about how no one needs another Harry Potter adaptation. 'The series no one asked for. Even my little nieces and cousins love the original, they don't need a new version of it,' said one person, while another wrote: 'Hope it's not gonna be God awful. No one asked for this. Just another cash grab.' Another urged fans to be nice to the child actors, writing: 'I'm really begging the general public to be kind to these children and not to ruin their lives for fun.' The network announced in late May that McLaughlin was cast as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. Several high-profile actors have been announced in other key roles, including Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore and Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley. A new round of actors were announced yesterday, including Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander. The show began production at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in the UK, and is expected to debut in 2027. The new series will be 'a faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter books," the network previously wrote, and 'will feature an exciting and talented cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail and much-loved characters Harry Potter fans have adored for over 25 years.'
