Ed Sheeran & Kylie Kelce Call Taylor Swift the ‘Cheat Code' for Easy Applause
The topic of the pop superstar first came up as the British musician was talking about the highest decibel level he's ever had an audience reach. 'We brought on Eminem, and that was the loudest I've ever heard a crowd — like, anywhere in the world,' Sheeran told Kelce of a 2023 performance in the rapper's home city of Detroit.

When Sheeran asked Kelce which artist would be the 'cheat code' for Philadelphia crowds, the former field hockey player said that it would have to be her brother-in-law's ultra famous girlfriend. 'I mean, I think Taylor, just because it's home,' Kelce told the four-time Grammy winner, referring to the fact that Swift was born and raised in West Reading, Penn., before moving to Nashville as a teenager.
Sheeran replied, 'I kind of think Taylor anywhere, though.'
Both Kelce and Sheeran have first-hand experience with the high-volume crowds Swift draws. The former — who is married to retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce — has known the 'Fortnight' singer since 2023, when Swift first started dating Jason's younger brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Sheeran, meanwhile, has performed on stage with Swift a number of times, including countless nights more than a decade ago on her Red Tour, for which he served as an opening act.
Speaking of the Red trek, Sheeran revealed to Kylie how traveling with Swift turned him into an NFL fan. 'I moved to Nashville for Taylor's Red Tour in 2013, and I got a place there,' he said. 'I went to Walmart to buy bits to move in, and I just bought some pajamas. And then when I got home, I was wearing the pajamas, and when someone was around, they were like, 'Oh, you're a Titans fan.' I was like, 'Guess I am.''
The interview comes as Sheeran is gearing up to release his new album, Play, in September. So far, he's shared three tracks from the LP — 'Azizam,' 'Old Phone' and 'Sapphire.'
His chat with Kylie isn't the first time he's spoken about Swift in the lead-up to Play. While guesting on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast in April, he opened up about his friendship with his former tourmate, telling listeners, 'I see her when I see her … Like, instead of catching up the whole time, we have a proper sit-down, six-hour catchups, and I think that's like a really nice way to do it.'

Miami's historic Olympia Theater faces transformation into educational hub
The historic Olympia Theater, a landmark once graced by legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Elvis Presley and Luciano Pavarotti, is at the heart of a controversial proposal that could transform the iconic space into an educational hub led by a charter school network. SLAM Miami, along with other local charter groups, including Mater Academy and Somerset, is spearheading an effort to take over the downtown venue. If approved, the City of Miami would eventually deed the property to SLAM, which plans to use the building behind the theater for classrooms and the theater itself for student performances and community events. "So, what we're proposing to do is actually to put programming for the school in the adjoining building, which is the 10-story facility," said Millie Sanchez, co-founder and chief administrative officer of SLAM Schools, during a Zoom meeting Monday night. "The building connects to the theater, and the goal is to re-energize the theater by supplementing the programming." Under the proposal, the school would use the neighboring building for academic purposes, while the theater remains a performance venue, hosting at least 180 days of community programming per year. "If we want people to care about and want this theater to live on for another 100 years, we need to educate," Sanchez said. "What better way than to bring arts programming into the building next door and have students intern and work with professionals in managing this beautiful space." Renovation costs for both the theater and the adjoining building are estimated at more than $50 million. Douglas Rodriguez, principal at Miami Tech and Mater Brickell Academy, said the initiative is backed by nonprofit groups with a history of managing public funding efficiently. "This collaboration is among nonprofit groups that have done this for decades," Rodriguez said. "Combined, we have over $200 million in grants—and we're not doing this at taxpayers' expense." Rodriguez also stressed the long-term value of involving students in cultural preservation. "You create that next generation of students who are going to be interested in preserving theater," he said. "We're only going to be here for a short time—and we need these kids for the next 100 years." Other proposals for the site have included converting it into a hotel or parking structure, but some residents expressed strong support for maintaining its original purpose. "I think it stays as a theater," said Oscar Orellana, a community member. "There's enough hotels and condos. Keeping it as a theater would be a perfect choice to preserve a little history." A final vote on the proposal is scheduled for Thursday, July 24. The Olympia Theater is located in Downtown Miami at 174 East Flagler Street.

There are three levels, or nights, that you progress through as one of eight characters. At the end of each night, you'll fight bosses from across FromSoft's impressive repertoire with the build you've been able to put together, before culminating in a final battle with the Nightlord. It's an interesting spin on one of the best games that has been released in the last decade. You pop up, call in your weapons, and make your stand against an army of giant, democracy-destroying bugs, robots or space zombies called illuminates -- with three of your friends by your side. You will undoubtedly die, but that's a sacrifice Super Earth is willing to make. The high-octane, third-person shooter gameplay Helldivers 2 delivers is truly unique. It's hard to beat the rush of calling down massive napalm strikes and giant orbital lasers as your friends provide covering fire against the hordes of enemies threatening to overtake you at any moment. The game has you scrounging for resources in swamps, deserts and forests, building your base and tools, and fighting off monsters and the weather while doing your best not to starve. If you've ever wondered how you and your friends would fare in a survival situation, this one's for you. If you've ever wanted to play Dungeons and Dragons but could never find a Dungeon Master to run a campaign for you, Baldur's Gate 3 can fill that void. And with drop-in, drop-out co-op with up to four people, you can start a campaign alone and finish it with friends or vice versa. It's one of the best games made in recent years and certainly worth your time if you like fantasy RPGs. Patch 8 -- the game's final content patch -- was released in April, which added 12 new subclasses to the game, so it's a great time to jump back in or pick it up for the first time. And you don't have to go it alone, you can bring up to 10 friends in a lobby. It offers some of the best crafting, survival gameplay I've experienced, and building a whole settlement with friends is a blast. If you've ever watched a horror movie and thought, I wouldn't make that choice, this game is your chance to prove it. It's a different style of game than others on the list; you'll essentially take part in scenes in a movie, making split-second decisions and participating in quick-time events. It was recently remastered for current-generation consoles, making it a good time to pick this one up if you didn't when it was initially released. It's also been made into a movie, though it only shares a name -- the story is entirely different. It's fun with friends and free to play, so it's worth a shot if you're looking for something to get into together. Your task is to solve the puzzles you encounter. You'll be separated from each other, so use your walkie-talkies to work together to solve the problems you encounter. You'll need to describe the solutions over voice chat to one another, which can lead to some funny situations. This one is free, so give it a shot. There are two other We Were Here titles, but you'll have to pay for those.
