Lionel Messi spotted wearing '$2m' watch on Inter Miami sidelines... and there's only 10 of them in the world!
The former Barcelona and PSG star was suspended for Miami's clash against FC Cincinatti - along with defender Jordi Alba - after missing the MLS All-Star game.
The MLS later announced their one-match ban for the Miami duo, who were then forced to watch from the sidelines as the side was held to a 0-0 draw on Saturday.
However, eagled-eyed fans noted that Messi wore an incredibly rare - and expensive - luxury watch as he sat in the dugout at the Chase Stadium.
Messi stepped out in the Rolex Daytona 'Barbie' for the game and, though there is no official price tag, valuations have ranged from $800,000 to $2million.
Watch aficionados have also noted that there are just 10 of them in the world that exist, which makes the time piece an even more lucrative asset.
The Daytona has become one of Rolex's most iconic and legendary chronograph's and the 'Barbie' variant is one that is seldom seen in public.
Actor Mark Wahlberg has previously been spotted wearing the model at the start of the year, in one of the first sightings of the rare Rolex variant.
Despite owning one of the rarest watches in the world, Messi is evidently not keen to overuse it and was not spotted with the time piece whilst at a recent Coldplay concert.
Messi and his wife Antonella were seen in attendance at the gig in Miami on Sunday night, where they were shown on the venue's 'kiss cam'.
Messi, 38, was seen attending the show at the Hard Rock Stadium with his wife and children on the final night of Coldplay's Music of the Spheres World Tour in the United States.
At one point in the concert, he and Antonella were spotted on the band's 'kiss cam' as they waved while smiling to the crowd.
The couple avoided becoming embroiled in a controversial incident, unlike Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot, who were caught with their arms around one another - before trying to avoid the camera on July 15 - in an incident that since went viral.
Messi, meanwhile, was left 'extremely upset' by his recent one match ban, according to Inter Miami owner Jorge Mas.
Messi, 38, was also seen attending the show at the Hard Rock Stadium with his wife and children on the final night of Coldplay's Music of the Spheres World Tour in the United States
'The reaction was exactly as expected out of two competitive players who don't understand the decision, who don't understand why not attending an exhibition leads directly to a suspension,' he said.
'The rule is what it is, but they don't understand it. I think that the punishment for the role is frankly draconian.
'I'm hopeful that it doesn't have an impact long-term. Will it have an impact initially, in the players' perception of how the league rules work? Absolutely no doubt.'

Lionel Messi exits Leagues Cup match with apparent leg injury
August 3 - Lionel Messi exited Saturday night's Leagues Cup match against visiting Necaxa with an apparent leg injury in the 11th minute. Early signs suggest a potential hamstring strain. The 38-year-old Messi's exit brings a halt to an exceptional run of clean health, the longest since he joined Miami in July 2023. He had played in every minute of 16 consecutive matches for Miami between MLS regular season and FIFA Club World Cup play before his failure to appear in the 2025 MLS All-Star Game resulted in a one-match suspension against FC Cincinnati a week ago. He returned Wednesday night for Miami's Leagues Cup opener against Atlas and provided two assists -- one leading to the game-winner late -- in a 2-1 victory. Almost immediately following Messi's exit Saturday, Telasco Segovia's goal put Miami in front. But the Herons were soon reduced to 10 men when Marcelo Weigandt was sent off for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity, then conceded a 33rd-minute equalizer by Tomas Badaloni. Messi, an eight-time Ballon d'Or winner, has not scored in the Leagues Cup. But in MLS play, he is tied for the league lead with 18 goals. Messi's run of consecutive appearances was in stark contrast to his first two MLS seasons, during which he missed significant portions of regular-season play. After playing all seven matches of Miami's run to the 2023 Leagues Cup title, minor ailments limited Messi to just six appearances among Miami's last 12 regular-season games that year. He also dealt with multiple issues in 2024, the most pronounced being an extended recovery from a torn leg muscle sustained while playing for Argentina during the 2024 Copa America final that July. He played in only 19 games in his first full MLS season, but he still scored 20 goals and had 16 assists to earn the league's 2024 MVP award. --Field Level Media

Agustin Ramirez, Eury Perez help hot Marlins blank Yankees
August 2 - Former Yankees prospect Agustin Ramirez slugged two homers, leading the host Miami Marlins to a 2-0 win over New York on Saturday afternoon. Ramirez, a Rookie of the Year candidate, has 17 homers this year. The Marlins are 29-14 since June 13. They have already clinched this series against the Yankees. That makes Miami 10-1-1 in its past 12 series. Eury Perez (4-3) pitched six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and three walks. Perez, who struck out five, continues his fine work from July, when he went 3-1 with a 1.29 ERA. Calvin Faucher pitched a scoreless ninth for his 11th save of the season. The Marlins also got one scoreless inning each from Ronny Henriquez and Tyler Phillips. It was Miami's third shutout win in its past four games, and the Marlins are now just one game under .500 at 54-55. Yankees rookie Cam Schlittler (1-2) took the loss, allowing four hits, two walks and two runs in five innings. He allowed both of the homers hit by Ramirez. After a wild 13-12 win by the Marlins on Friday, Saturday's game was rather calm. However, there were some big plays. In fact, New York nearly scored in the first inning as Giancarlo Stanton drilled a two-out, 111-mph single. But left fielder Kyle Stowers charged in and threw a no-hop strike to home, where Liam Hicks tagged out Trent Grisham, who was trying to score from second. Miami took a 1-0 lead in the second as Ramirez belted a 421-foot homer to left on a hit that had a 112-mph exit velocity. Ramirez hit a 3-1 fastball clocked at 97 mph. In the second inning, New York's Jazz Chisholm Jr. was caught too far off of first base on a popup by Paul Goldschmidt. Second baseman Xavier Edwards threw out Chisholm. The Marlins extended their lead to 2-0 in the fourth inning as Ramirez hit a 1-2 sweeper that was up and wide of the strike zone for a 418-foot homer to center. The exit velocity was 108 mph. --Field Level Media

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel sends warning to Tua Tagovailoa after Donald Trump called out NFL quarterback
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel joked that Tua Tagovailoa has been given an 'executive order' to avoid getting hurt after Donald Trump told the quarterback he 'has got to stay healthy'. The 27-year-old started only 11 games last season amid concerns over his health after several nasty concussions. There were fears that Tagovailoa might have to call time on his career but he is back and preparing to lead the Dolphins into the 2025 campaign. On Thursday, president Trump namechecked the quarterback at the White House. Trump butchered the pronunciation of Tagovailoa but said he 'has really been fantastic.' 'When he's not injured, he's great. He's got to stay healthy. But he's a great guy,' the president said. On Saturday, McDaniel addressed Trump's comments during Dolphins training camp, telling NFL Network: 'If I was concerned about how serious he was taking his part in staying healthy, I think he got an executive order last night to stay healthy, if I'm not mistaken.' He then praised his quarterback, adding: 'It's been cool to watch him really evolve into who he is on the national stage but more so, really in his own skin, be the true leader of the team. 'It's real and authentic and all he's done is - in a ton of noise - focus on the right stuff. So there's a lot of things that go into staying healthy but first and foremost you have to front-end prioritize and really acknowledge what you mean to the team. 'And, like in years past, he lives and embraces "control-ables" and is not afraid of any work. So guys respond to him.' The president, 79, hosted multiple professional athletes, including golfer Bryson DeChambeau and Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, at the White House Thursday for an executive order signing that will reestablish the Presidential Fitness Test. A number of sports stars will form a newly-created council of to help with the reinstatement of the test, including Tagovailoa as well as Super Bowl winner Saquon Barkley. But Trump's attempt at praising the Dolphins passer was almost derailed when the president tripped over his last name, which is pronounced 'Tun-go-val-oa.' The Commander-in-Chief sounded out the last name of the signal caller, who is of Samoan descent, before butchering it anyway and pronouncing it 'Ta-go-valiah.' The Alabama product appears to be close to the president's extended family. Earlier this year, Tagovailoa and his former Dolphins teammate Braxton Berrios spent time with First Daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner. Ivanka, the eldest daughter of president Trump, shared photos of her family hanging out with the NFL stars, which included her son passing the pigskin around and playing chess with Tagovailoa.
