"A total of 23 global records comprising 21 World Book of Records and two Guinness Records were created," said Naidu, elaborating on the yoga day feats. However, the exact number of participants will be announced by the Guinness World Records authorities, he said.
Describing the 11th International Yoga Day celebration as a grand success, Naidu expressed joy over 22,122 tribal students simultaneously performing 108 Surya namaskar for 108 minutes in one location, thus creating the second Guinness World Record. This feat was achieved on Friday at Andhra University.

"Today, Visakhapatnam saw two mighty oceans, with Bay of Bengal on one side, and a boundless sea of yoga practitioners on the other. I joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi and lakhs of citizens to celebrate International Yoga Day and mark the success of our Yogandhra campaign," said Naidu in a post on X.
He thanked Modi for giving the opportunity to host this event and for his 'inspiring presence'.
"This historic gathering shows our commitment to health through the power of yoga. I commend every participant, organiser, and volunteer who made this record-breaking event possible. Let's keep moving forward towards a healthier and happier Andhra Pradesh with regular yoga practice," he said.
We have created history. This is a super hit, he said adding that the state government expected about two crore registrations from across the state to perform Yoga today. However, the number shot up to 2.45 crore. He also said that 1.8 crore people are eligible to receive certificates for participating in yoga activities for one to three days.
Overjoyed by these big numbers, the CM asserted that people will not turn up unless they find something beneficial, adding that the decade-long efforts of Modi have fructified. He noted that over 170 countries have accepted the yoga day and this ancient lifestyle art was performed in 12 lakh locations by 10 crore people globally.
In Andhra Pradesh, 26 theme-based yoga sessions were organised in the 26 districts and at 101 tourist spots, he added. Yoga was performed in around 1.3 lakh venues across the state, and 2.17 crore people participated in them, he said. He also added that 1.46 lakh yoga trainers were identified. Offshore, naval ships also hosted yoga activities. The CM said the NDA alliance government will bring a coffee table book and a video on yoga day to promote it locally, nationally, and internationally. Likewise, he said the Visakhapatnam Declaration will also be brought on Yoga Day. Earlier, he said this declaration would urge people to make yoga part of their everyday life. Similarly, he said the state government will also set up Yoga Adhyayan Parishad and called on the people of the state to set aside one hour a day for yoga.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi practices yoga, and this was the secret of his health, and he has never taken leave for the past 11 years, Chandrababu Naid said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in International Yoga Day celebrations here on Saturday at RK Beach, accompanied by N Chandrababu Naidu and others.
Moreover, the CM said the government will accord top priority to tourism and aim to set up 50,000 hotel rooms statewide.

Dipali Sharma , who is stepping into the spotlight as the lead in Ektaa Kapoor's Pyaar Se Bandhe Rishte, is overjoyed about this new chapter. Paired opposite Bigg Boss 18 fame Avinash Mishra , Dipali shared her excitement in an exclusive chat with Times of India TV. She spoke candidly about her path in the entertainment industry, landing the lead role in Ektaa Kapoor's show, and her experience working alongside Avinash Mishra. Tell us a little about your journey? I began my career as an engineer, but deep down, I was always passionate about storytelling and performing. Trusting my instincts, I made a bold decision to leave my job and step into the world of acting. I started out with television shows, which helped me build a strong foundation in the craft. In 2021, I made my debut in a Telugu film. Since then, I've been thankful for each opportunity and remain excited about taking on roles that challenge and inspire me as an artist. How does it feel to be a lead in Ekta Kapoor's next? Of course, it feels incredible. I've previously worked with Balaji on Barsatein and Yeh Hai Chahatein, but this project holds a special place in my heart because I'm playing the lead this time. What makes it even more exciting is that it's Balaji's first finite series on YouTube. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Candi: New Container Houses – Take A Look At The Prices! Danica Patrick fuels controversy by backing Sydney Sweeney amid outrage over American Eagle's anti-woke ad (Image via Getty) Danica Patrick is speaking up after Sydney Sweeney 's new American Eagle ad caused a storm online. On Sunday, July 28, 2025, Patrick posted on Instagram, asking why people were so upset with the campaign. The ad, featuring Sydney Sweeney modeling jeans with the tagline 'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans', was released last week and has sparked anger on social media. While many are calling it a hidden message promoting 'white beauty,' Patrick doesn't see the problem and she's not the only one backing Sweeney. Danica Patrick reacts to Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle ad The backlash began after American Eagle launched its fall 2025 campaign on Friday, July 26, starring 27-year-old actress Sydney Sweeney. Smiling and posing in several outfits, she was shown in the ad under the heading "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans". Although many internet users considered the line to be a covert call advocating white beauty norms especially given Sweeney's blond hair and blue eyes, it was obviously a word play. Danica Patrick, a former NASCAR star who recently backed Donald Trump's 2024 campaign, aired her opinions on Instagram Stories. 'Can anyone tell me what's wrong with the new AE ads?! Very confused,' she wrote on July 28. WWE legend Sgt. Slaughter, whose real name is Robert Remus, also showed his support. On July 29, he posted on X (formerly Twitter), 'Attention @sydney_sweeney, YOU GO GIRL & That's An Order!!' Slaughter is a former WWF Heavyweight Champion and appeared on WWE SmackDown just last week during a tribute to Hulk Hogan, who passed away on July 26. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like How to Trade ETH/USD Without Holding Ether IC Markets Learn More Undo ESPN's David Dennis Jr and others criticize the ad's hidden message While some celebrities are defending Sydney Sweeney, others are calling out the ad. High court upholds summons to Kangana Rananut in ‘Rs 100' tweet defamation case

Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana high court on Friday dismissed a petition filed by actor-turned-MP Kangana Ranaut challenging her summoning by a Punjab court in a defamation case, making it clear that the magistrate has duly applied mind to the material on record while summoning her. Justice Tribhuvan Dahiya, in a detailed 15-page order, said, "There are specific allegations against the petitioner who is a celebrity, that false and defamatory imputations by her in the retweet have dented the respondent's (Mahender Kaur) reputation and lowered her in her own estimation, as also in the eyes of others. Therefore, filing of the complaint to vindicate her rights cannot be termed mala fide." Ranaut is accused of defaming 73-year-old Mohinder Kaur, a farmer activist, through a tweet during the height of the farmers' protests against the now scrapped farm laws in 2020. Ranaut allegedly misidentified Kaur as Bilkis Bano of Shaheen Bagh fame and implied that such women could be hired to participate in protests for Rs 100. "Such remark, prima facie proves that the intent of the accused was to paint the complainant as a person of dubious integrity who is protesting without any cause and just for financial gains," the high court observed. Ranaut's counsel had contended that the trial court misconstrued provisions of Section 202 of CrPC and argued that she had only re-tweeted content by 'Adhivakta Gautam Yadav', who was not arrayed as an accused. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like She grew up to be America's sweetheart... can YOU guess? Watch More Undo The counsel pleaded that the retweet was made in good faith, without intent to harm Kaur's reputation, and in the absence of mens rea, the magistrate should not have proceeded. The order was passed on Feb 22, 2022. Senior advocate G K Mann, representing the complainant, argued that there was no dispute that Ranaut herself made the defamatory on the face of it retweet, which contains serious allegations against Kaur's character. Mann also said that Ranaut had shown no remorse or tendered any apology, suggesting intentional harm. The bench concluded that the summoning order was passed after due application of mind to the facts and preliminary evidence. The court also noted that it was not the petitioner's case that the retweet was not made by her. Regarding the complaint being filed solely against Ranaut, the judge observed, "Still further, because the respondent has filed a complaint only against the petitioner and not against the person to whom the original tweet has been attributed, in itself cannot be a ground to contend that the complaint is mala fide." 'Extra responsibility' on celebrities "As she (Kangana) holds a position of influence over the masses, she has extra responsibility on her shoulders to verify the truthfulness of the remarks made by her. It is evident from the evidence led by the complainant that the accused (Kangana) made the impugned defamatory remark without going into the truthfulness... She even failed to tender any apology to the complainant after knowing the truth." Justice Tribhuvan Dahiya Complaint was filed in 2021 The defamation complaint was filed on Jan 4, 2021, by Mohinder Kaur of Fatehgarh Jandia village in Bathinda. Kaur initiated the case in Bathinda court against Ranaut for her tweet (which was later deleted) that identified Kaur as Bilkis Bano of Shaheen Bagh fame and claimed such women could be hired for protests for Rs 100. Kaur had provided evidence asserting that Ranaut's words had damaged her image. The farmer stated that her family, owning 12 acres of land, found the accusation of protesting for a mere Rs 100 intolerable. MSID:: 123044276 413 |
