Diddy's Ex-Girlfriend Asks The Judge To Release Him Ahead Of Sentencing

An ex-girlfriend of Sean 'Diddy' Combs is urging the judge to release the music mogul on bail while he awaits his October sentencing. Virginia Huynh, who identified herself as Victim 3 in the federal government's indictment against Combs, wrote in a letter submitted to the judge this weekend that she has known the artist for many years in both a personal and professional capacity. She wrote that while their relationship had many ups and downs, Combs always tried to become a better person. 'By the time our relationship ended, he embodied an energy of love, patience and gentleness that was markedly different from his past behavior,' she wrote. 'To my knowledge, he has not been violent for many years, and he has been committed to being a father first.' Combs was acquitted last month of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges, but he was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Last week, Combs' attorneys filed a motion asking the judge to release him on $50 million bond before his October sentencing hearing. Combs has been in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center since his September arrest and has been denied release multiple times. Huynh's letter asks the judge to consider letting Combs out on bond until October. She wrote that she does not view Combs as a danger to her or the community, and said he should be released because he has children who depend on him for financial and emotional support. 'I want to assure the Court that if released, I believe Mr. Combs will adhere to all conditions imposed and will not jeopardize his freedom or the well-being of his family,' Huynh wrote. In the indictment against Combs, prosecutors said Combs used his 'power and prestige' to intimidate and threaten women, often while he was in a romantic relationship with them. 'On multiple occasions, Combs threw both objects and people, as well as hit, dragged, choked and shoved others,' the indictment read. 'On one occasion, Combs dangled a victim over an apartment balcony.' Huynh did not testify in the trial against Combs. Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura did, however, telling the court that Combs forced her to participate in sex marathons known as 'freak-offs.' Related... Patagonia just updated its Nano Puff Jacket. Here's how it compares to the original

Season after season, the Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket continues to be a staple for outdoorsy folk since its 2009 debut. It's made with a warm insulation that easily packs down for travelers. Good news for loyalists: The brand just updated the timeless outdoor gear staple. Designed for hiking, climbing or backpacking, the outer layer brings more of the same that our editors loved from the earlier iteration — like warmth without the weight — but with minor tweaks. Patagonia Nano Puff Insulated Jacket Patagonia most notably changed the fit with its reimagined Nano Puff. It offers a streamlined silhouette, along with changes in its trims, while tapping a new, soft liner fabric. The reinvented Nano Puff debuts in nine colors for both men's and women's styles, including classics like black and grey to colorful reds and blues. Much like the original, the Nano Puff Jacket update adopts a lightweight, packable and windproof design. Both feature the brand's 60-g PrimaLoft Gold Insulation and water-repellent finish as well as a drawcord waist, a pair of handwarmer pockets and a hidden inner pocket. The two also pack down into themselves for easy travel when you don't need the extra layer. Combined with its quilted pattern, the latest weaves in a durable, abrasion-resistant thread to help keep its insulation in place. The previous jacket flared slightly at the hip to give more room for layering. This slimmer build opts for a more flattering look that you can still layer under, but without the bulk. It also lengthens the shoulder and gives more elbow room for better mobility. It replaces the recycled polyester with a recycled ripstop polyester that feels softer to the touch. The relaunch brings a welcome update to the classic, which we'll add: retails at $10 less than the OG's retail price. If you prefer a more tailored, flattering fit and enjoy adding the latest to your repertoire ahead of chillier weather, the new Nano Puff is a solid investment. However, it's also worth noting that this latest drop simultaneously brings down the price of the OG to $168, marking a stark $61 difference. Snag the discount if you're looking for a frills-free, reliable option. Either way, you can't go wrong. Patagonia has long been a favorite for its packable, insulated jackets, like the Patagonia Micro Puff. When we pit Patagonia vs. Arc'teryx, it edged out the competition when it came to sustainability. Patagonia Nano Puff Insulated Jacket If you'd rather pay less upfront, the OG Nano Puff just got more affordable alongside the new launch. It's 29% off in all nine colors across men's and women's styles. Amazon cuts 110 jobs in reorganization of Wondery audio division

Amazon on Monday said it is cutting 110 roles from its audio division Wondery as part of a restructuring effort. The cuts reflect an industry shift toward producing more podcasts with video, a format that has become more popular with consumers who listen to their favorite hosts on platforms including YouTube and Spotify. The layoffs also mark the latest sign of contraction in the once burgeoning podcast industry. In June, Spotify laid of 5% of staff in its podcast division and Philadelphia-based Audacy shut down New York-based Pineapple Street Studios. 'As video podcasting has grown in popularity, we have learned that creator-led, video-integrated shows have different audience needs and require distinct discovery, growth and monetization strategies compared to audio-first, narrative series,' Steve Boom, vice president of audio, Twitch and games at Amazon, wrote in a memo to staff. Under the changes, Amazon will combine Wondery's narrative podcast studio with audio books and podcast division, Audible. Wondery staffers in its creator-led podcast studio will be part of a new organization called creator services with Amazon's talent services group. Amazon acquired Wondery in 2020 for an undisclosed amount. The Culver City-based company is known for producing podcast series including 'Dr. Death' 'American Scandal' and 'The Shrink Next Door.' Amazon said the restructuring will help it better support creators across different channels to monetize their content and simplify the process for advertisers, while also 'making the content more accessible to audiences wherever they prefer to consume it.' Wondery CEO Jen Sargent is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities, Amazon said. Ray Wang, principal analyst of Constellation Research, said the reorganization will help the company grow its ad business. 'This makes a lot of sense given how advertisers view both formats,' Wang said.
