Noel and Liam Gallagher 'take extreme methods to avoid clash' amid world tour

Daily Mirror19 hours ago
Following their 16 year rift that broke the band apart Oasis' management placed Liam and Noel Gallagher in separate hotels half an hour away from each other to protect relationship
When Liam and Noel Gallagher took to the stage in Cardiff walking out hand in hand, it was a sight many of their original fans thought they would never see in their lifetime. And so in order to maintain their amicable reunion, it has emerged that the brothers were advised to stay in separate hotels for the first gig of their world tour, in a desperate bid to avoid a clash.
The brothers, who are famed for their volatile relationship, were placed in hotels half an hour away from each other. According to The Sun on Sunday, the famous duo skipped partying after their first night in the Welsh city and were driven away from the Principality Stadium at approximately 10.30pm.

A source told the publication: "The atmosphere was absolutely electric and Liam and Noel were delighted with the first night. They were a bit shell-shocked."
They added: "It went better than anyone could have imagined. The lead up has all been carefully orchestrated, as everyone knows how delicate and fragile Liam and Noel's relationship is."
The insider close to the band continued: "They don't want to over-expose themselves to each other. Having separate residences is the best option so they can relax in their own space."
They explained: "They stayed in separate locations outside the city around half an hour away from each other."
"They're happy families at the moment and they want to keep it that way. Liam has been off the booze for a while and sounds better than ever," they added.
According to the source, Liam is determined to get eight hours sleep a night and is steering clear of alcohol and partying.

Fans were left in awe as the band, who were once synonymous with the stereotypical rock and roll lifestyle, belted out their iconic hits including Wonderwall, Stand By Me, Live Forever and Half The World Away.
And it seems a contributing factor in Liam's clean living lifestyle is his partner Debbie Gwyther.
The source continued: "Debbie protects him from all the hype so he doesn't get carried away. They've swapped out Guinness for zero per cent alcohol beers and keep the vibe backstage as chilled as possible."

Partying in the crows were Noel's daughter Anais, 25 and her mum Meg Matthews, 59. Liam's sons Lennon, 25 and Gene, 24, were also at Friday's gig.
It has been reported that the Cardiff gig was emotional for their children who never thought the day would arrive when they would see their dad on stage as Oasis.
And Anais was reportedly a "driving force in helping to reunite the brothers who at the time showed no intention of making the peace.
The Mirror has contacted reps for Oasis for a comment.

Wayne Rooney 'lands £800,000 Match of the Day deal' after Gary Lineker's exit

Match of the Day is said to be welcoming a very famous face to its presenting roster following Gary Lineker's exit. Wayne Rooney has reportedly signed a big-money deal with the BBC in a bid to start a new chapter away from football management. It's said the former England player, 39, has secured £800,000 for the gig, which will see him appear on MOTD for two years with the possibility of an extension. What's more, Rooney should be involved in the show's 2026 World Cup coverage, jetting to the US, Canada, and Mexico to bring viewers the highlights. A source told The Sun about the rumoured punditry deal: 'Wayne is a natural broadcaster; he is warm, witty, and forensically knowledgeable about all aspects of the game. 'He still has a deep love for football and also gets on well with everyone on both sides of the camera.' They added: 'He is eminently likeable and has impressed on his outings to date—viewers have also really taken to him, which has been clear from social media commentary. 'Wayne will be a key part of next year's World Cup coverage, which is a massive coup, and will provide some much-needed expertise on Match of the Day in the wake of Gary's departure.' It's believed that 'everyone', including the Beeb's Director of Sport, Alex Kay-Jelski, is 'incredibly excited to get him on board', with the insider declaring it a 'great signing'. Rooney's new MOTD role will reportedly be unveiled officially later this month. Whispers actually began at the start of the year, with the same publication claiming Rooney was in talks for a MOTD slot as early as January. At the time, he was freshly sacked from his fourth management job, having secured just one win with Plymouth Argyle in 14 games. It was later reported that Rooney was looking to venture further into punditry, and it was said the role could've earned him up to £200,000 a year, depending on how many appearances he were to make. But now, that figure looks to have increased drastically. Having already proven he can talk the talk in various guest appearances previously, Rooney's next role is likely a natural progression. It also takes him and wife Coleen one step closer to a total TV takeover, given how she reportedly signed a £10million deal with Disney in March to star in a documentary with Wayne and their four sons: Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six. Rooney is widely considered one of Britain's greatest-ever footballers. Not only was he Manchester United's best goalscorer with 253 goals, but he was also England's record goalscorer from 2015 to 2023. He retired from professional footie in 2021 after being appointed permanent manager of Derby, and now frequently dabbles in punditry. By joining MOTD this year, he is part of a huge shake-up at the long-running programme, which was hosted by Lineker, 64, for 26 years. Lineker confirmed he would be leaving the BBC completely after catching backlash for sharing an Instagram Story about Zionism. More Trending His since-deleted post featured a rat emoji, which has been historically used as an antisemitic trope. The host later issued an unreserved apology for the 'hurt and upset caused' by the video, stating it was a 'genuine mistake' and that he was unaware of the meaning behind it. In his place, Gabby Logan, Kelly Cates, and Mark Chapman will share the presenting role on Match of the Day from the next Premier League season. Indiyah Polack rose to fame in the eighth series of the long-running dating show in 2022. The 26-year-old came in third place with Dami Hope and has gone on to have a huge career outside the villa. The reality personality is the co-host of the official podcast, Love Island: The Morning After with fellow former islander Amy Hart. One wrote on X: "Where is indiyah? "You guys best not be thinking about replacing her we want her on every show dont ruin it #loveislandaftersun #LoveIsland." Another added: "I don't like it when Indiyah is not on this show." Last month, Indiyah opened up about who she still speaks to from her series. When asked who she'd invite to a reunion, she told The Sun: "Probably Ekin, Tasha, Andrew - even though he and Tasha aren't together anymore - he is a great guy. She continued: "Jacques [too], Ikenna I'm still close to, surprisingly, and he's friends with Dami." New to the line-up are content creators Joe Baggs and Ash Holme. Ash is best known as a content creator, but she also appeared on one of the nation's biggest talent shows in 2017. Appearing on The X Factor, she originally auditioned with her group NQ, who made it to Boot Camp before being dropped from the show. But the star pulled off a rare move when she ditched her band for a new group. The singer, who was 21 at the time, was kicked off the show but returned to join Simon Cowell's imaginatively-named New Girl Band. While Joe became a household name for kicking back in front of the TV on Gogglebox. He has since become popular for his podcast Not My Bagg, where he welcomes celebrities to spill the tea. Love Island airs on ITV2 and ITVX.

My chinwags with the Oasis brothers: what Noel and Liam Gallagher told me

O asis are back, and I'm cashing in. Cashing in socially, anyway. I haven't (yet) found a way to monetise the fact I have interviewed (separately, eight years apart) both Gallagher brothers. A lot of my colleagues weren't even born in 1995 and were only dimly aware until the reunion was announced of who Oasis were. But they know who they are now, that's for damned sure, because they're the hottest ticket of the summer. There is considerable cachet in being able to say airily, 'What? Old Noel and Liam? Yeah, bagged them both back in the day. One-on-one sit-downs, face-to-face. None of your Zoom nonsense in those days, dear me no.' I tend to gloss over the fact that I had met Noel in 2001 and Liam in 2009 respectively, a few and many years past their (What's the Story) Morning Glory?/Knebworth/feud with Blur heyday.
