Deleum expands ops in Indonesia
PT OSA is an established Indonesian company specialising in the supply, servicing, and maintenance of valves for the oil and gas (O&G) sector.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Deleum said the acquisition, executed via its wholly-owned subsidiary, Deleum Services Sdn Bhd, was a strategic move aligned with the group's regional expansion plan.
'The acquisition strengthens Deleum's presence in the South-East Asian O&G sector, boosting its technical capabilities in valve maintenance and extending its operational footprint in Indonesia,' it said.
Deleum said that with the completion of the acquisition, it would focus on integrating PT OSA's operations and enhancing cooperation between its Malaysian and Indonesian teams to improve service efficiency, accelerate deliveries, and facilitate the exchange of technical expertise.

GWM's sales 'outpace 2024 total' in first six months of 2025
KUALA LUMPUR: Great Wall Motor Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd's (GWM) sales in the first half of 2025 (1H25) have exceeded its total for the whole of 2024. It also marks a 20.3 per cent increase from the previous six months, GWM said, without sharing the actual figures. This reinforces its position as a key player and underscores the brand's growing influence among automotive players in Malaysia, the company added. GWM claimed that it remains firmly within the top three Chinese automotive brands in the country, a position strengthened by its expanding retail footprint and a compelling line-up of new energy vehicles tailored for the Malaysian market. By staying attuned to local needs and evolving market trends, GWM said it continues to deliver meaningful growth in a competitive automotive landscape. GWM chief operating officer Roslan Abdullah said this is not just about numbers, it's about momentum and meaning. "Our growth shows that Malaysians are embracing our vision of cars that combine innovation, value, and relevance to their everyday lives," he added. Roslan also said the company's first-half performance reflects the strength of its product portfolio and growing recognition of GWM as a serious automotive player in Malaysia. Spearheaded by the Haval H6 HEV, GWM claimed it has emerged as a leading hybrid choice for Malaysian drivers. It added that rather than engaging in price-driven competition, the company focuses on delivering safety, innovation, and a premium driving experience. Beyond product success, GWM said it is also strengthening its nationwide footprint. The brand has expanded its network from 18 outlets in early 2024 to 26 by mid-2025, with plans to reach 35 outlets by year-end. In 2H25, GWM will broaden its portfolio with two new additions aimed at expanding its presence in the premium and performance segments.

Top US banks boost payouts after lighter Fed stress test
The Fed's exam tends to set the tone for how aggressive banks are in returning capital to shareholders through dividends and buybacks. — Bloomberg WASHINGTON: Wall Street's largest lenders boosted their dividends after passing this year's Federal Reserve (Fed) stress tests, a hurdle that regulators made easier to clear by softening some of the requirements laid out in previous years. JPMorgan Chase & Co, Goldman Sachs Group Inc and Bank of America Corp were among firms that raised quarterly payouts after the Fed's annual review last week showed that all 22 banks examined would maintain enough capital to withstand a hypothetical economic downturn. Citigroup Inc, Wells Fargo & Co and Morgan Stanley, as well as several other large lenders, also boosted their dividends. In addition, JPMorgan's board authorised a US$50bil share buyback, and Morgan Stanley reauthorised a multiyear share repurchase programme of up to US$20bil, with no expiration date. The Fed's exam – a product of the 2008 financial crisis – tends to set the tone for how aggressive banks are in returning capital to shareholders through dividends and buybacks. It requires banks to consider hypothetical crisis scenarios and estimate the losses they might face based on their books of business. Last week, all 22 banks comfortably passed after determining they would withstand more than US$550bil in losses. The results showed that 'large banks are well positioned to weather a severe recession,' the Fed said. The scenario in this year's tests led to lower loan losses in a less severe scenario, due to the mild slowing of the US economy in 2024, among other factors. The results were also affected by lower private equity losses and higher net revenue. The Fed announced last year that it planned to make changes to its process, and in April unveiled a proposal to average results over two years when setting capital requirements. Fed vice chair for supervision Michelle Bowman has said that potential changes would help the agency address the 'excessive volatility in the stress test results and corresponding capital requirements.' In that same vein, the Fed also unveiled plans to decrease what's called the enhanced supplementary leverage ratio, which requires banks to hold a certain amount of capital relative to their assets. — Bloomberg
